Code discrimination, inequality, or whatever you want to call it.

SUCCESS, after emailing them I got a 20% off code/pin offer and took it. Better than nothing I guess. So bascially I got free food for our trip because that was the price difference. We got a courtyard view at the Wilderness Lodge. Complain and you might get some results. :thumbsup2
My email was very nice and to the point and they called and emailed with in 48 hours. Good luck to everyone.

I just sent Disney an email expressing my frustration with the code situation. I will let you know what type of response I get back from them.:rolleyes1

Very interesting. Frankly, Im surprised they cared enough to respond...definitely encouraging. What email addy did send to?

The one listed a few posts back to guest relations. It could have been totally random but I doubt it. I got an email within 24hours with a 20% code. I will take what I can get. I have never before gotten any sort of discount so this is very encouraging that they do listen.

I don't expect a code, but I still don't think it's fair that some are randomly paying substantially less than others for absolutely no reason. AP codes, AAA codes, FL Resident codes - No problem. General codes not available to everyone = Completely unfair.

Sorry, but life isn't fair.

It's NOT unfair. It's Marketing and Data Mining.

Frequent visitors prove to Disney that they will essentially keep paying, hence, no need for a code. Infrequent, or people who have never been, need a bit more enticement.

I work for a Retail Company that has Private Sales 2x a year. Our salespeople are given lists of their top 25% clients, and extend special pricing to them. This goes on WHILE our stores are open, so conceivably your Best Buy analogy is at work during these times. Let your wallet do the talking, and stop going. No one forces anyone (as far as I know) to go to WDW.

While it would be nice if Disney did have some sort of loyalty program, I sincerely doubt the Marketing Department are sitting in their offices, rubbing their hands together and laughing evilly that they are not sending a code out to the Debster family this year. :lmao:

I totally agree.

I've used this analogy before. I equate it to buying a plasma TV at Best Buy for $2,000. The guy in front of you has the exact same TV and only pays $1,500, simply because he was randomly sent a coupon via email. Granted, all business make deals or concessions to customers at one time or another, but to randomly select people for no reason, is unfair.

It's a slap in the face to loyal guests.

But that happens at Best Buy all the time. People randomly get coupons and some people get coupons based on their buying history at Best Buy. And some people go to slickdeals and find out how to get even more discounts [using multiple coupons online with store pickup, etc.]....it's just the way it works everywhere not just at WDW.

Of course it's not fair--I'm sure you know by now that life isn't fair.

Not getting a code will not stop us from going to WDW but, it would be nice, if Disney rewarded their Frequent Visitors with a discount code.::yes::

They might be sitting in their offices rubbing their hands and laughing that the DIS members are going to come anyway, code or no code! ;)

I got to WDW twice a year and I got a pin email about two month ago. I could not use it because it was not when we were going to WDW.

This has got to be one really bizarre thread. Your crying some type of discrimination because you haven't gotten a code. Let's repeat, Disney is a for profit business, they release codes simply to fill rooms NOT as any type of goodwill gesture to guest or to make us feel warm and fuzzy. Same thing with free dining (which is not really free, because you pay rack rates). You will never see free dining during the busy season because the rooms are already 100% occupied.
Personally, I think we will see less and less codes as more and more dvc units open up. They will use that as a marketing tool for discounts on rooms.

Who's crying?? And, codes have been offered to use during busier times and free dining has been offered with room discounts. I don't see why anyone is considered to have entered a bizarre thread when most of us are interested in what other Disney fans are thinking about. Cheer up!!:goodvibes

We go to Disney once a year. We have been fortunate to get a code/pin each trip so far. I have to admit I would feel a little salty if we didn't get one. I was actually holding off booking our upcoming trip because I was waiting for a code. So I can understand a persons frustrations at not being able to save money on their family vacation. To those waiting - I truly hope you get a code...and a 40% one at that!!!!! Fair or not, it sucks when you know someone is saving several hundred dollars and you aren't.

Good-Luck all :flower3:

Just wanted to throw out a thought. Could there be a WDW CM on the boards that has some say so as to who gets these mysterious codes????? Just something to wonder! I would LOVE a 40% off code, would do almost anything to get a 40% off code. I will not hold my breath though, as I am unlucky in "magic codes":sad1:

I go three-five times a year and have never received a PIN code. Doesn't seem fair.

I have accepted that Disney does what it wants and we are all at their mercy. The only alternative is to stay off-site and I have done that at times. If I stop to think about it, I am amazed that I am so addicted to a company that is so messed up. Kind of scary, huh?:scared1:

Disney doesn't want me to save money....somehow they have figured out that my family and I love to come to WDW and have decided that I shall never get a break!!! It is frustrating when you see others get phenomenal deals while I can't get a 1% discount!!!! They need to spread the wealth a little, I mean some people have gotten codes more than once:scared1:
