Coca-cola Freestyle Cups

We purchase the coca-cola freestyle cups while we were at Universal last November. We're going back next weekend and want to use them again. Does anyone know if they "expire" yearly or anything? I understand we'll have to pay the daily amount each day, but are we going to have to buy cups again?

Thanks!

I don't believe that the freestyle is reusable.

i was with friends last year that had the free style coke.
they could do the refill until the park closed on the day it was bought.
damo is always right...

They are definitely reusable. We bought them on the first day of our 9 day trip in November. You pay like $6 to reactivate them for another day, and then you get free refills that whole day, too. I'm just trying to figure out if it's like Six Flags (over GA at least) where they do a new kind of cup each year and you have to buy a new one. Since no one seems to know, I'll report back after our trip this weekend.

sorry, i thought the op was asking if the same cup can be used for the cheap refills.
yes, you can reactive the freestyle cup but would be required to pay the fee to do so.

Can you tell me if you buy the freestyle cup can you have it refilled with regular coke products anywhere in the park or only at the freestyle locations?

The cup has to be reactivated each day to get refills at the coke freestyle machines. I think they are also good for the 99 cent refills at dispenser locations but not sure, never did that.

There are two different kinds of cups. One is the freestyle, to be used at the freestyle machines and gives free refills, and the other is the refillable cup which gives you discounts on refills at quickserve and booth locations and not at the freestyle machines.

Oh wow!! I didn't know they had this!! I stopped drinking soda because I was drinking my weight in diet pepsi daily, but I LOVE diet coke with lime!! This is gonna be hard to resist!!

I'm pretty sure they're only good at the freestyle machines - but these have all the soda options you could possibly want and more. And they don't require you to stand in line or anything. The machines are just out in the parks or in the seating areas of restaurants. You just walk up and fill your cup. You only have to go through the line to activate your cup for the day.

We did it because we mostly drink carbonated water (la croix, seagrams, etc) and the only way to get these in the parks is through the coca cola freestyle machines. We were just happy to find that there was an option at all!

Sorry I should have been clearer. I know how the freestyle cups work, and I am aware of the other souvenir cup with the 99 cent refills I was just trying to work out if I have the freestyle cup and there is 'regular' drinks closer can I either get free or pay the 99 cents? The last time we went to US & IOA there were a limited number of places that had the freestyle drinks (one in each park I think). Can I guess that there are more of these dotted around the parks now?

I am a diet cherry vanilla coke fan and whilst now in Canada most of our MacDonald's have these machines I am all over getting more than my fill at US & IOA too! We will be there for at least 2 days, possibly 3 so the freestyle cups work out cheaper for us than the regular ones.

That is a good question and one I am curious about, too. Last time, it wasn't worth it to us because there were so few locations. There also always seemed to be lines at the machines, though they are a lot more common place now than they were in 2012, so maybe they don't baffle people now. Is there a better saturation of machines now? I know there are no sodas in the Wizarding areas where we will spend a good portion of our time, but if there were machines close by, we might consider it.

You can only use the freestyle cups at freestyle machines. There are at least five of the machines at each park and they seem to be adding more freestanding ones.

At Universal there is one at Louie's and Richter's --- both which are close to Diagon.

At IOA there is one at the Kebab House which is close to the Wizarding World.

I've never used it, so I wasn't really hunting for them - but I can tell you that there are a lot more now than the first year they were offered. I only noticed the one at Richter's a few years ago. Last month I noticed quite a few - but can't say exactly where. I do recall at IOA, there's one on the side of one of the stores in Seuss Land - I believe you pass it just as the shortcut around the carousel rejoins the main path (on the right). There's another one in Marvel next to the smoking section on the lagoon.

You can reactivate the freestyle cups (it's slightly less than to buy a brand new one), and they will also allow 99cent refill at the regular soda fountains (without reactivating it for the freestyle machines).
And water & ice from the freestyle machines is free for anyone.

Can you do both now? Can you reactivate it so you get free refills and also get the 99 cent refills at the regular soda fountains? I was under the impression that you couldn't.

I learned this trick the past week and it's great to be able to get COLD water so easily. Disney will always give you ice water as well, but if there is a line, it can be a pain. They need to put in bottle filling stations like they have in many airports now. It was impossible to get a drink from a water fountain with people filling 3 or 4 bottles each ALL the time!

I'm also under the impression that this isn't possible. AFAIK, the two programs are mutually exclusive - you can't get $.99 refills with a Freestyle cup, and you can't get Freestyle refills with a $.99 cup (other than ice and water, as was previously mentioned).

I just looked at a web site that has all things Universal Orlando on it which is a good informer, and it said the 2 programs are separate and as of May 2014, you can not use a Coke free style cup to get 99 cent refills at soda dispenser locations.

There are a BUNCH of Freestyle locations. In USF: Mels Drive In, Kidzone - by the giant Woody Woodpecker and pizza place, by Men in Black, On the bridge from Men In Black to Diagon (near bathrooms), Richters, Monsters Cafe and Louis Pizza. In IOA: Toon Lagoon, Near Jurassic Park at the cart, maybe Cafe 4, Lost Continent where the pretzels are sold and Circus restaurant in Seuss Landings. It is very easy to find a location to fill the cups.
