I wanted to start this thread so we could all share the great things that CMs have done for us, our familiies, and our fellow travellers. We all know that the CMs are part of the reason we come back to Disney time and time again. So tell eyeryone...Who made you smile?

One CM who made us smile was a gentleman outside of TSM in HS. We were there to get a FP and (for some reason) my FP came out but my fiance's didn't. We were standing there stumped, discussing what we should do when a CM came up and started chatting with us. He helped us figure out that we needed to wait 7 more minutes before we could get my fiance's FP. Fine with us...what's 7 minutes anyway? We turn around again and the CM is walking up to us with a FP for my fiance...just a cool little thing that made us smile.

I always have to stop and listen to the piano player outside Casey's Corner.. That always makes me smile..

There have been many but the one that stands out to me the most was at 50's Prime Time Cafe. It was late, after Fantasmic and we went in for dinner. Cousin Teressa (sp?) was our CM and she made the ending of a great day even better. The place was all but empty so even some of the other CM's who were finishing up the tables around us were even talking to our kids as they went by. She was very sweet & after dinner she sat with us for a minute and it really felt like family. Then she got up & said that my son was her favorite and she "spanked" my girls with a spoon for not finishing everything on the plate. :rotfl2: It was a lot of fun!!

The CM who sticks out most in my mind is from our trip last week. Janson the Jungle Cruise skipper was the best. I don't think I've ever truly laughed on JC the way I did that time.

However, I must say pretty much any smiling CM makes me smile. I love seeing people hand out stickers in the hub. And if the bubble machine in the trash can is a CM, they make me smile too! :)

A couple stick out for me:

When we went last January, DS was dressed as a Jedi and carrying a lightsaber. A Young male CM challenged him to a lightsaber duel in front of Star Tours. They both really got into it. DS had such a good time.

In September we were celebrating DS starting Kindergarten. Also at HS, a man running the ice cream cart randomly offered DS a free ice cream mickey for starting kindergarten. It was so nice and came out of the blue.

Its the little things that can really make a vacation special!

On our last trip, my DD's were very excited to meet Thumper and Miss Bunny. So, we went to Camp Minnie/Mickey to find them. There was one trail that was closed, and the other trails did not have them. I asked a CM where we could find them, and she said they would be out in about 15 minutes. It was pouring down rain, but we decided to wait and wait and wait...45 minutes later and soaking wet, we decided to split up. My DH took DD's to grab food while I went to investigate when Thumper and Miss Bunny would be out. The CM seemed surprised that they had never come out. I told her we would come back later, but she said they were only scheduled for about another hour. I told her that we would be gone by then. She told me to go wait back at the trail again. I ran to get DH, and we ran back in the pouring rain. When we got there, the characters were there and waiting for US!!! The CM had told them that we had been waiting for them. We went back by there after lunch, and Thumper and Miss Bunny were gone. We think CM got them to come out just for us. We couldn't believe it. That was the most amazing thing we have ever seen!

Awesome stories! Thanks everyone!

I have another one:
We were celebrating our engagement on our trip last August and dined at Rose and Crown so we could see Illuminations. It was raining heavily when we went in. Our server was great and provided us with awesome service during our meal. After dessert, he walked us outside and onto the lower deck. There, he had reserved (and dried off) a special table for us to sit at and enjoy Illuminations. We felt so special!

Any CM who is enjoying what they do, having fun and making sure the guests do as well makes me smile.

Several years ago, there was a CM at Big Thunder Mountain who would pretend he was a robot...made me smile!

thanks for the posts! anyone else have any great moments to share?

Great stories! I always enjoy reading about and seeing all the wonderful Cast Members.

I posted these some weeks back.

We all get pictures of the Castle, Spaceship Earth, Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Sully, Cinderella, and Snow White. I just returned from an eight day visit to WDW, and thought while I was there to take a few pictures of some of the other folks who make it such a nice, fun place to visit. Here are some of that cast......

A side note on the two CM Friendship captains above. They are married, to each other, usually work the same Friendship together. He is 75. What a pair! of cast mambers!

So thanks to all these, and so many others, 100's, thousands, that make it so enjoyable.

Last trip to DHS, it had been raining and I was waiting around for DH towards the end of the day and about to sit on a wet bench when a CM ran up and wiped it down for me so I could sit without getting wet. :lovestruc

Also, last Jan I was in a wheelchair and getting ready to ride TSMM and the CM there was just very friendly and talkative, and told us when we got up to where they load non-wheelchair riders to be sure to say hi to his wife who was also working the ride.

We were at the Pirate and PRincess Party a couple years ago shopping on Main Street. It was about midnight and this toddler girl was SCREAMING HER HEAD OFF!! It was making me crazy, actually because the mom could not get her to stop. A CM walked over and handed the girl some stickers and started talking to her and she stopped immediately. That's the kind of customer service that makes people want to return.

DAN! Just so you know I know about 4 of the people who you mentioned in your CM pictures!!!!! Mr Ray from World of Disney was one of my favorite people to work with!!!

I could write a book w/the stories of all the wonderful CM's we've encountered through the years! They are why we keep coming back! Last time we left my husband said "You know, it's not about the princesses or the rides or anything like that, what makes this place great is the customer service!"

Thank you to all the CM's out there that give us a soft place to fall away from the real world!!!

We went to Disney at least once a year from 1999-2005 and there was a
waiter named Michael who worked at the Crystal Palace who used to sing to
the guest at his tables. Therefore, we always referred to him as "Michael the singing waiter." At first we thought he was sort of corny but he grew on us.

When we were there in 2007 we didn't see him. We hope he is still there and look forward to seeing him when we return this summer. Has anyone else ever
seen him?

:cool1:

Thanks to you all! Those pictures rock! You know, it's amazing how I have seen so many photos of the castle, the characters, the "weenies", etc., yet none of them seem to catch the true essence of D-World like those cast member photos did. What a great idea for photo memories! Thanks for sharing them with us.
