CMO TOP 10 Announced

Good stuff! Fun! What's the record? I want to see if I can beat it.

My suspicion is that I'd win that one! I know all the keyboard shortcuts. I never have to take my hands off the keyboard after clicking vote the first time.

I'm going to put on my flame retardant suit right now because I'm sure that I will get a smack down for this.... but in true HMF fashion I'm going to be my usual honest self: I have hardly voted at all in this contest (gasps from the crowd.... "did he say that he hasn't really voted") Yep, its true. I have voted a total of 16 times (I'm keeping track) and 15 of those were for the same person, my "favorite" if you will. It isn't that I'm not interested in the contest, or Disney, etc, etc..... I guess its because I don't feel "vested" in any of the finalists. Not that I expect all of the finalists to run to the Disboards, seek out this thread, and give me their individual attention... but I feel rather uninspired. There aren't any of the fun internet tactics that Kenny and some of his co-horts pulled last year. This isn't the Miss American pageant, I don't want to hear about world peace and better gun control, this is a contest about creativity and using the internet and media resources to your advantage.... and honestly I haven't really seen any of that. Instead I read posts about how "I would be a great CMO because....... " and "I love Disney because.......". Now when I read about Amy taking to the streets of LA in full costume.... I thought, good for her, that is creative.... I need to start voting for her. When meggin mentioned that she had a "stunt" up her sleeve I got excited and can't wait to see what she has planned.

I guess to me the CMO contest isn't just simply putting the web address for your CMO video in your signature. Or the fact that you have a large voting body at your disposal who are voting just because they are your friend and not because you would be the best candidate.

I still say Eric (fleagle) was robbed of a top 10 spot. His CMO (Community Magic Organization) was brilliant! It would have gotten people involved and inspired. He has taken the time to organize events on this thread that show his passion and creativity.... even after he didn't proceed further. I look at people like Catotigger, who didn't even make the top 20, yet she took out her "crayons" and made a cool looking Justin banner for her signature. I guess if cato can be that excited to make something like that, then why can't any of the finalists that post here. If you don't know how to make something like that.... then ask..... they are people here that can help with stuff that you might not be familliar with.

Wow Kenny, those pictures look like you guys had so much fun. I watched all of the little you tube clips about all of your guy's experiences last year too. It really does look like a dream come true. I hope to retire near Disney someday too so that I can eventually get my dream come true of working in the parks. In another 50 years I guess I'll see you all there

Thanks for leaving the soapbox for me to stand on. That was too kind!

No flamethrower in this pirate's hands.

I think that was well said, and many people feel the same way. That's why all the other discussion threads are dead. Gotta have some imagination and some fun with this stuff! I agree that AK47's PR stunt was brilliant. While she won't get to play the exact FGmother character in the parks, she'll have a blast getting the word out. If she wins, she'll still get to see some great smiles that she helped make. Justin's spinning in chair with a kids bicycle helmet and wierd words was creative, can you keep that going on the net for 10 more days??? Can Patrick do something else with the cut out idea??? Where will Autopia guy take us next on his journey??? Do Jennifer, David H and Tangela really exist??? These are questions inquiring minds want to know. I look forward to Meggin's stunt. I'd really love to come down to the park when the final 3 are there to see what takes place publicly too.

I realize that this has taken on a real election feel and no one should have to be "cut-throat" as Justin stated. I remember a stunt that Bill Clinton pulled many years that thrust him forward toward President (please don't comment on whether or not he was a good one). He went on Arsenio Hall and played his Sax and was decent at it. He laughed it up and hammed with Arsenio. That made the public think he's a regular guy, not just another politician.

Just wanted to say that I'm so glad this thread has matured to the point where folks can express their joy, their concerns, their hopes, their dreams, their failures and their desires for others.

I don't agree with what everyone is doing or says ... and you all don't agree with everything I do or say ... BUT we are all here in support of a great Disney/CB contest, gosh darn good folks in the Top 10 and even better ones in the tied for 2nd and tied for 3rd category.

My love goes out to all of you. Thanks for joining this thread and truly sharing.

You can't imagine what a blast it was. We were like rockstars who owned the place. Everyone would turn to their kid and point at us, "Look pirates!" People wanted our autographs. I had never thought of coming up with one even. It took them a lot of work to get me offstage the last time. I hate the yellow line on the backside of frontierland still. All the magic just fell off and a tear came to the eyes of Steph and me. Sidenote: I won free 5x7 picture certs on that exact spot during the reunion.

Here's all the 2.4 billion pictures

Okay I have a question about the final 3. Sorry if this has been discussed before. The rules say that the final 3 will be in the park during the final voting and the voting will end while they are there(LOL total freudian slip, I just typed while I am there!! )

It looks like to me that the decision will be solely based on votes and will not have anything to do with the in park activities. Does anyone else read it that way?

But a vote 12 at 12 would have resulted in a 20% voting increase! :lmao:

Wow, how about going military time, and it would be 24 at 24? Not sure it would result in a xx% voting increase. (I'm old - I don't have to do math anymore if I don't want to! :) )

But that would translate into like a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show - except a g-rated version!

Let's do the TIME VOTE again!
It's just a click to the left,
and then enter the type,
Click submit vote now,
and wait a real long time.
But it's the close window now,
That really drives you in-saaaaaane!
Let's do the TIME VOTE again!

Yes, that's the way the rules read. The stunts are supposed to keep people involved in the drawn-out process of double voting.

So much cool stuff going on!
More later, but I just had to say that I was just doing my morning voting, and for every vote I made on the CMO site I cast a vote for the Fleagles in my heart.
Cheers!

So unless you have a huge and loyal fan base to keep voting for you while you are busy at the park and can't vote for yourself then anything is possible? And do the Disney people get a said number of votes to throw to their favorite candidate? Just curious......so the live interaction doesn't really have much to do with it? Maybe I should just back and read the rules myself? Sorry about all the questions. :confused3

You honey-nut chocolate chip pancakes are in the microwave. Home made by the way! :) Enjoy! Oh, and you better share nicely...Justin wants to be adopted too.

Mom
I refuse to share...... I want all the pancakes.

***** Justin pinches HMF *****

Owwww.... fine you can have some pancakes.

It will certainly reduce the amount of self-voting. SPONSORS like to keep you busy sun up to sun down. They have a philosophy of hurry up and wait. If you get a tour guide, expect to walk 3 times faster than normal too!

Please excuse me for 3 minutes while I go enter ever SPONSOR contest known to man for the day.

I just always assumed that it was another example of the bad writing/horrible editing done on the contest rules.

It clearly states the top 3 will be there April 16th - 22nd. But online voting for top 3 is April 14 - 21st.

There is an implication that what they do at the park with be photographed/video'd and then we vote based on this extra material.
"The Grand Prize Application Process will require each Finalist Prize Winner to perform specific tasks, as designated by Disney Destinations, at the Walt Disney World® Resort and each Finalist Prize Winner will be videotaped and photographed performing such tasks (collectively, "Grand Prize Video Application") ... Individuals who go to http://www.dreamcmo.com between 12:00 a.m. ET on April 14, 2008 and 11:59:59 PM ET on April 21, 2008, ("Grand Prize Voting Period") will be asked to view the three (3) Grand Prize Video Applications and vote for their favorite."

But I don't see how that's possible, do you? As I said bad editing or really bad math!

This is the Miss American pageant, I don't want to hear about world peace and better gun control, this is a contest about creativity and using the internet and media resources to your advantage....

Ok, I have NO idea what it would be... But we absolutely should have the DIS America Pageant.

I still say Eric (fleagle) was robbed of a top 10 spot.

HMF... love you, my son, and I sincerely appreciate the sentiment, but I definitely disagree.

To say that I was robbed implies that others who advanced were not worthy. In my opinion there were many videos better than mine that didn't even make the Top 20. And with Andy not making it... I certainly can't lay claim to being in even 11th place.

I'm pretty proud of the DIScademy Awards and the other fun stuff (which were all group efforts by the way). But none of those thing were in the framework of the contest. So, I may have shown you guys something, but I didn't show Careerbuilder and Disney enough.

No flames coming here on the "uninspired" front. It is not the job of the voters to be inspired. It is the job of the candidates to do the inspiring. So if you are not inspired to vote...then a candidate or two ought to see that as an opportunity to get your votes.
