Hi! I loved the jokes (even though my wife is blonde!) Thanks for taking the time to pop in and leave the funnies!

I had 14 hour day at work (it's after midnight here and I haven't been home that long) and I'm looking at another 14 hour day tomorrow. Please excuse me for not being more available lately! It figures that the last week of voting is the week of Easter and thus a 70-hour week at the church!

I hope you had a great night and I'll check in when I can tomorrow!

Goodnight!

thanks for the jokes!! i just got home, and it was nice to have them waiting for me :)

reading those jokes made me realize i don't really know any. the funniest thing i know is:

why did the tortoise cross the road?
(why?)
to get to the shell station.

it's pathetic, i know. i'll work on more material....

love,
meggin

Pathetic, perhaps. But it still got a smile from me!

(did you notice I didn't offer anything up either? - - - I'm more of an on-the-spot kind of funny . . . well at least that's what I tell myself!)

Alright, I'm ridiculously late (although less so by west coast time) because I went right from work to a rehearsal, but here's mine:

A guy goes into a bar and says to the bartender, "Say, have you heard the one
about the banjo?"
The bartender puts down the glass he was holding and says, "Now son, before you tell that joke I want you to look toward the back of the bar, over there. That's my cousin Leroy who has a black belt in karate, and he plays the banjo. And see over there at the pool table? That's my other cousin Dwight the boxer, and he plays the banjo. And I'm a sharp-shooter, and I play the banjo. Now, do you really want to tell that joke about the banjo?"
And the guy says, "Heck, no, not if I have to explain it three times!"

G'nite!

Well, I suppose I am going to be the first to say good morning to everyone.....

"Good Morning". :cool1:

I must tell you all about my day so far.....not that you really want to hear, but I just want to share.

So, kids are home from school today which means the early morning chaos doesn't end when the school bus comes. But we had a nice surprise when Eric left to go to work...a box on our porch from our Cast Member friend, Bill. He had send us a nice card and an Easter Basket filled with eggs and Disney pins for all of us. What a nice surprise and what a great way to calm the crazy morning. :wizard:

Anyhoo, busy morning doing the usual. After the kids helped clean for awhile I wanted to take them all to Toys R Us to get a "prize" for the day. Baby Choo Choo for Elizabeth, Strategy Guide for Forrest, Fur Real Friends baby duck for Alyssa, and of course CARS for Dawson! Trying to redeem the leftover amounts on Christmas gift cards was quite lengthy which provided Dawson with just the right amount of time and motivation to pull one of his tantrums. Yep....blood pressure rising, nerves frazzled, the whole nine yards. :headache: Completely frustrated but with prizes in hand we left the store. I guessed that attempting to go somewhere that I needed to go for myself was out of the question....so we headed for a drive thru before going home.

Trying to place an order through the speaker at Arby's when Dawson, who had mostly calmed down by now because Lightning McQueen and Mater were now out of the box and safely in his hands, decided that it was time to scream again. So, I'm attempting to place our order with him yelling in the background....any mom probably knows exactly what I'm talking about. :scared:
Taking a deep breath in......and letting it out. Come on Amy, you can do this!

We survived the drive thru and went straight for the safety of our home. :drive:
Driving up the driveway I check the mailbox.....

As soon as I open it up I see a white box covered with Disney stickers, Disney stamps, and the words, "Magic Box" on it. What? Bill had already sent us a nice Easter surprise? I'm so confused!? :confused3

So, looking at the return address I knew exactly who it was from, but why? Hmmm....

::MinnieMo pluto: :tinker: :donald: pooh: ::MickeyMo :eeyore: :goofy:

It appears that Meggin sent some pixie dust all the way to Virginia! It was a box filled with goodies for all. Hand written notes, and special Disney Dollars for each of my kids (by the way....too much Meggin! Four kids are 'spensive) wrapped in Pooh Bear paper with their names written on each! Nice touch! Pixie Dust falls from the box each time I reach in for more....and then there are more pins and antenna toppers! What a treasure chest of Disney Magic and such a truly nice surprise! :yay:

So, the reason for the story is to simply say to Meggin (which I already did privately) but would like to say publicly....."Thank you so very much!"
The time and personal attention you took to send us such a thoughtful box of magic proved to us that you are indeed a sweet person who believes in spreading that pixie dust...literally! You just sprinted for the finish line Meggin, and me and my clan will work on making sure you are in the Top 3!

I just wanted to pass along some behind the scene magic that happened to us today...thanks to Meggin!

Have a great day all!

Amy

Great story going into this weekend. Just another reason why I think Meggin, Tripp and Justin are my top 3. I think they should be the ones to "battle" it out in the Magic Kingdom. :)

Awful quiet today. I guess nobody can tear themselves away from the voting pages. :surfweb:

Meggin, have you tried the Pixie Dust to see if it will do it for you? :rotfl:

Amy,

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. That is a wonderful story and a great suprise for a wonderful family! See why I can't possibly feel like I'm in competition with Meggin? She is just too incredibly sweet.

Meggin - that's what this is all about. You're amazing!

Thanks for the endorsement! I don't know about the others, but Good Friday stuff at work has kept me away from the computer (and will probably continue to do so until late tonight!) . . . hopefully someone else out there is logging some votes for me today!

quick note...I have family in town again and we've been doing the Washington, DC thing (Air and Space Museum, American Indian Museum) and yes, my nephews got Horton pancakes last night at IHOP!

Meggin -- love the toll booth surprise

I'm a CMO Winner, too!

Andy -- no rush for the avatar -- family comes first

Mrs. Fleagle -- my joke (good for kids)

Oh my goodness! I am so nervous for all of you top teners!!! You guys must be in absolute panic right now. I wish you all the best of luck and lots of pixie dust :wizard:

Sorry if someone already asked this question, but when do you guys get notified if you are in the top three? They would probably know right away, but have they given you a date that you will know by? :confused3

Wow - just checking in - and it's empty! Looks like no one has been here for quite a while.

Well, hope you all have a good weekend - and good luck to our friends in the top 10 in their final 24 or so hours of voting!

Thanks for the pixie dust and good wishes!

As for your question . . . I believe I read in the rules (but it's been a while since I checked) that we would find out by email (and possibly also regular mail) "on or around March 23rd". That would be Sunday. I'm not sure if they will actually contact us on Easter Sunday or not. They also reserve the right to break any ties with another phone interview - so in the case of a tie it could be another few days.

ALSO - if they choose to handle this round the way they did the top-10, it is possible that the top 3 will be notified but will be asked to not say anything until they are officially announced by Disney and CareerBuilder themselves . . .

Did that help at all?

:ssst:...........oh........how sweet.......the little DISers look like angels when they are asleep    .........oops, they left the lights on again..........:tiptoe:

i'm really overwhelmed by all of the kindness on the disboards. i really needed it today--this is I PROMISE not a plea for sympathy or votes--because i am trying to focus on the positive and not the negative, but i found out this afternoon that my nanna passed away last night. she was a really special lady, and even though 70 years separated us, we had a wonderful relationship. as i said, i promise that i don't want anyone to feel badly, and i'm not trying to manipulate emotions. the good in this situation is that my nanna is reunited with my pop-pop now, and she never has to experience pain or sorrow again. this really does bring me joy--i love to think of my nanna feeling happiness and peace.

that being said, today was still an odd day for me--i'm not sure i succeeded in conducting myself the way that i usually do with my co-workers. it wouldn't have been appropriate to share what was going on in that show setting, so i did my best to leave my emotions at the door. anyway, it was a wonderful thing to come home, log in to my computer, and see what you all have written. i'm not very good at accepting compliments, but i do thank each of you for what you said. i guess i don't need to pixie dust myself, because you've all given me some of your magic. thank you, thank you, thank you! it meant a lot to me!

love,
meggin
