This needs to stop! I asked nicely earlier but was completely ignored.
I do believe this should remain on the board as it is a concern and is regarding Disney Cruise Line but to continue to debate, make rude comments and personal attacks is not necessary.
Please feel free to post your concerns, prayers and best wishes as well as any facts but keep the bickering and rude comments to yourself.
After this post, any additional comments like this will be deleted.
I applaud the poster that contacted CNN.
This is news - not a private matter.
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to this girl and her family/friends.
In addition to that, I have booked a Disney Cruise and it is extremely concerning to me that someone can "go missing". I want to know how this happened, how quickly was it discovered, etc. More importantly, I want to know WHAT IS BEING DONE! The "secrecy" is hugely concerning to me (amid existing rumours of cover ups on cruise hips). The best way to stop the 'speculation' that seems to be causing people upset is to investigate and report on what is happening.
If this were my child, I would be screaming from the rooftops!!
One thing I take from this is that it seems that DCL apparently notified the proper authorities on the 22nd when they realized something was amiss after she didn't report for her shift. They are not obligated to notify the media. I don't think there actually is any cover up or secrecy, other than just not releasing a bunch of speculative details. They made PA announcements and searched guest staterooms...if they are trying to cover something up...well, they suck at it.
I for one am very sorry to hear that someone is missing and I am hoping and praying that the Mexican offiicials and navy are doing all they can to try and help the situation.
I am pretty sure that there is no covert or major coverup going on here. Disney made general announcements on the ship, and did make a statement. For the poster who ran to CNN, I hope you never have to deal with anything like this situation, because you just might want some privacy in this type of matter. My thinking is that Disney went public when they were sure they had something to say, before that they may have had concerns or issues that may never surface to the public.
I hope for the return of this young woman, my heart cries for her family and friends and for the poor lost sole wherever she may be at this time.
People please stop dehumanizing everything...the bottom line is that someone's child, sibling, or maybe best friend is missing and everyone on land is at the mercy of the Mexican Navy right now.
