CM Discount

It depends. If you are a CM or a CM is booking this for you they can check this out on the Cast portal.

50-75%? Are you sure that's not a typo on your part? The most I ever saw was 60%. Generally it's 25-50%, depending on the time of year and availability. Those rooms are capacity controlled just like rooms with any other discount. There are other restrictions on cast rooms as well.

The person who is an eligible CM can access all that info via the cast portal.

As an FYI, there are times where a FL Resident or AP rate can be as good, and sometimes even better...

When I worked there (P/T) I often got resorts at 75% off particularly the wing rooms at the Contemporary (69.00/night avg.)

Ok quick question. Is the CM discount eligible for immediate family members only or what?

I ask because my sister in law has "friends" that work everywhere and she claims she can always get a "great deal" no matter what or where it is. She is really all talk, no one has ever seen her come through on these deals where she knows everyone.

Well we are trying to get some of the family to go down and I gave them prices and such - the most they would pay. Well she says she knows people who work at WDW and she can get a better deal. Honestly I don't believe it because of past history but just curious.

Thanks

I know the CM has to check you in.... I met a very nice CM checking in her cousin while waiting in line at All Stars several years ago. She was not staying there, but did have to be present to get the person in thier room.

Also, I got the impression from talking with her that you can't book months in advance. She had gotten this room fairly late and her cousin had a full price room as a back up until the CM discount came through. (I did not ask what the rate was)

The CM can come by earlier in the week and show their ID so that they don't have to be present at check in. Last I heard, CMs get one rate and then friends/family can get another rate. Obviously, the CM gets the biggest discount.

Discounts vary on various things and each CM can look up their information themselves (the differ among seniority, position, etc). Rooms are in limited quantity and you can't always get your top choice.

CMs can book rooms up to 40% off for friends and family. They must come by the resort within 10 days of arrival day to show their IDs (or fax a copy). CMs are limited to only 5 friends and family reservations per year, so, of course, most CMs try to make sure their favorite friends and family members are taken care of first. As a general rule, as most have posted, CMs (staying in the room) can get 25-50% off all resorts and can book almost a year in advance (no limited to how many reservations they can have as long as the CM is in one room--can book up to 3 rooms on one reservation). During the holidays (Dec-Jan) there is limited availability for up to 60% off. We just returned after staying at the AKL at the 60% off rate, so had our standard room at $79 a night, but was upgraded to a savanna room. Keep in mind that the friends and family option is limited to WDW CMs only now, and can be booked on the castportal.

Yes and no. It depends on which division of the company the CM works for, and again, is subject to availability.
