CM comment- Would you be offended?

This discussion about the current crop of CMs being snarky reminds me of a story, at least 15 years old and perhaps apocryphal, of the CM assigned to direct cars in the parking lot at the MK. He was supposed to send two cars to one section, one to another, two to the first, one to the second, etc. But he wound up sending all the white cars, and only the white cars to the second section. The reported conclusion is that he was not invited to return to work the next day.

I so wish that I could be for mistaken for the mom of one that young and I am certainly not ready to be a grandmother.

At 33 I was a mother of an infant. At 34 my brother was a grandfather. So it isn't too far off to think that she could have been with you. He is now a great-grandfather and I don't have any grandkids yet.

I wouldn't have been offended. Momentarily miffed, sure. But I probably would've forgotten about it in about 10 minutes. Then again, I'm from NYC, and with all the insanity that goes on here at times, I have a very thick skin!

I have a CM friend who has commented that the culture of CMs is different. She had noted that, several years ago, it was more focused on the guest experiences. And now, to many CMs, it is just simply a job. They're also a much more "entitled" generation of workers.

My guess is they don't think they're being snarky but simply "corporate."

If that was said in a snarky or aggressive manor, I would definitely be offended! I'd prefer not to let stuff like that bother me, but I'm sure it would have!

For me, it would depend a lot on the CM's tone of voice and body language, but if it did indeed come across as being snarky, I think I would have retorted with a wow, thanks for pointing that out to me, I would never have known enough to follow the rest of the people that are entering the ride.

I would of said the little girl is with them and pointed to her parents! He must of thought she was with you.

As a former CM that comment by the CM does sound out of line to me, any manager or supervisor that overheard something like that would have had a talk backstage with the CM. I can almost bet money that this was probably a disgruntled CP.

Maybe offended is the wrong word. But yes, I would have thought the comment to be insulting, however, I'd also let it go quickly. I'm on vacation after all.

The CM would explain it to his or her boss. We pay to stand in line and guess what somebody's child ain't my problem nor was the child the OP's problem.I do what the OP does every time I go and I pay allot of my hard earned money to go. I try to be nice but I will not put up with that snarky attitude from a Cast Member.
