is it worth 70 dollars more a nite 4 adults in the room aaa rate 303 per nite vs 223 standard . also my hubby is a smoker are there smoking rooms in the club rooms or all they all in tower 2 . i dont want tower 2 so just wondering if anyone happens to know. i dont want to book club and end up i tower 2 ty :cool1: :goodvibes

The Club rooms are in tower 3 on the 7th floor. I really dont know if there are smoking rooms there, but I would call the hotel directly and ask. There is no way I would pay club and not be on the club floor. (esp not the same tower)

Let's see - $70 + tax is about $78. Divide that among 4 people = $19.50 per person - for that you get the following:

Discount on cabanas

Free use of fitness center

Free continental breakfast - yogurt, bagels w/cream cheese, cereals, coffee, one hot breakfast dish such as pancakes, danish & assorted mini-muffins, coffee, juice etc

Soda and water (to take to the parks) throughout the day

Happy hour from 5-7pm with free wine and beer, one hot appetizer, chips, salsa, veggies & dip etc.

Excellent desserts and cakes after 8pm

I would say it is totally worth it :cool1:

This is going to sound "cheap", but we are looking at booking 2 rooms, one for husband and me, the other for our two sons. Would we have to book two club rooms, or could we book one, and take our sons in with us? I think I already know the answer, but hey, if there's a slim possibility....!

You are allowed 5 to a room so if you did that you would have 5 club key cards. I wonder if you can list the kids on your room as well as their own? I guess my thinking could be all wrong. I would ask though.

We always stay RPR Club, and my DH is a smoker, and I can't even answer your question. Sorry about that; he always goes outside to smoke, since you can't open the windows in the room, and I'm not a smoker.

Try emailing the Club staff at rprconcierge@loewshotels.com

I have always received a response when I've sent a message there. They perhaps can better help you.

Good luck.

Is it worth it to upgrade instead to club level at RPH for the breakfast in the mornings? We are trying to figure out what to do about breakfast, and can we request a fridge in a standard room? We have reservations for July 3-8 for five people (three teens, two adults) already at the AAA. But, its a significant jump to club level. Also, are there even any club level rooms that would hold us?

We have our reservations and have already bought our tickets..(we are so excited!) :Pinkbounc

The included foods/snacks on club level would be nice for your teens, but the standard room--same size, club or not-- is going to be a tight fit with 3 teens AND you. Stayed with our 2 teen boys (now 20 and 17) 3 yrs in a row at club level. They loved having snacks available. I loved being able to get coffee or water all day long (soda too, if you want), plus having a place to sit in the a.m. while others were still sleeping, showering, etc. First two yrs. older son slept in the bed and brother slept on a twin airbed brought from home. Space was cramped with their belongings. Last year we stayed in a King Suite--still only one bathroom though--to allow everyone to stretch out a little during our down time...son still used airbed! Having the extra space was great, but not sure if 5 would be accomodated? The food offerings at the club lounge took the edge off their appetities and thirsts so we weren't spending tons of extra $$ in the parks for full meals constantly. I liked the convenience of it being on the same floor as us. The idea of having to travel to it? no thanks.

Well, my son is going to have couch duty. But, my two other teens are my 14 yr old daughter and her best friend. Both are quite smallish. Thank goodness it will be a tight fit, but we plan to only sleep there..not much else!

lol

:confused3

Is there a couch in a 2 queen room at RPR?

No there's no couch in the standard 2 queen room. We always put the airbed between the window and one bed so it was out of our walking paths.

:confused3 I must be confused then. I spoke w/ my sister and shes said , "If it says sleeps five then there is some sort of sofa in the room. " She's this world class traveller and I always take her word to heart..but I guess I better call and be sure." Do they expect to put three people in one bed? My room lists 'sleeps five'.

Uh oh.

Oh and one other thing...The person with the air bed..do you have an aerobed? I see they sell them everywhere now...(other brands) Are they as easy to set up as they say?

Does it say "sleeps five" or does it mention 5 people maximum in room. The hotels allow 5 people max, but that it with a roll-away (extra charge) or an air mattress.

Yeah, the more I read on it, I think they must want me to pay 25.00 a day for a rollaway. I am definitely getting an aerobed. Just now to figure out which is the best kind, and do the 'offbrands' work as well.

:confused3

My son used one of those cheap $19.99 flocked airbeds (Northwestern brand?) for 2 yrs. in a row at RPR plus ended up taking it anywhere we went! At times he actually managed to get the room curtains to surround his bed so the room lights and t.v. didn't bother him. For $19.99, besides a zippered, shoulder-strapped carrying case, it came with an automatic inflate/deflate pump and a patch kit (which amazingly enough we never had to use!!) We figured at that price, if something did happen to it while we were traveling, we could just toss it! We were able to carry a set of sheets inside the carry case too.
It was mentioned above about 5 person room ...yes, a rollaway bed is offered for $25 per night, but there is no couch in the room. You might want to make sure they don't REQUIRE you to rent a rollaway since there will be 5? We only had 4 of us, so am not sure about their policy. Another thing we liked about the airbed...it could be placed on the far side of the room, whereas the rollaway really takes up a lot of walking space right smack in the middle of everything. We just either deflated (less than 3 min.) the airbed or stood it against the wall out of the way. Good luck with your planning!

Thanks so much for the information. I've seen Aerobed, but also have seen Target brand and Walmart brands and they seem so similar. We want something that blows up quickly and also deflates quickly.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2
