Club Level Lounge After Checkout?

Will we be able to access the CL lounge at Portofino after checkout?

We asked this past weekend and were told the answer is no. You can visit the lounge as early as you like prior to official checkin time (4pm) on your arrival day, just as soon as you've arrived, checked in, and gotten your key cards. However, you can't visit the Lounge -- that is, your key cards will no longer get you onto the Club Level floor -- after official checkout time (11am) on your departure day. (Of course, you can always ask nicely and see if the attendant wants to make an exception.)

The club rooms are deluxe rooms (larger than a regular room), most likely in the West Wing, closer to the main pool and one quiet pool.

Hot breakfast and evening appetizers. Unlimited snacks, desserts, drinks like juice, water, soda...

Beer and wine.

When we stay CL, the only meal we eat out is lunch. Breakfast and dinner in the lounge. The dinner offerings are more than enough for us. Plus beer & wine at dinner. Bottled water, cans of pop, coffee, tea anytime. We grab water bottles on the way to the parks, and also for our room at night. Desserts too!

We stayed CL at Royal Pacific last August. Your key won’t work, as mentioned but we went down to guest service desk and asked if we could access lounge and they gave us a key to use. We just wanted a quiet place to relax and wait till it was time to get shuttle, also have some tea and water. The RP lobby is so busy. However Portofino Lobby has some nice quiet spaces. Probably because the restaurants in Portofino aren’t off the lobby like RP so it’s not busy.

Unless something has changed written policy is your right to use the lounge ends at checkout time.

PP suggest as a courtesy exceptions can be offered

"On your day of check in you are able to access the Rocky Royalty Lounge beginning at 12:00pm. You will have access to the lounge on the day of your departure until 11:00am."

You have access to the lounge for afternoon snacks on check in day, and only breakfast on check out day.

This information may be too late, but hopefully it helps others in the future. We just received the Rock Royalty welcome email that states when you are allowed in the lounge on check in and check out days.

We always tip at the end of the evening relaxation hours, we never have dinner in the lounge but we do enjoy drinks service.

Some folks don’t but we could never do that as the staff really do look after everyone.

I've never tipped. Club Cast Members at Disney are not allowed to accept tips so I thought Universal would be the same.

Yes, they can accept tips in the Club Lounges in the three hotels, some folks don`t tip though.
