My DW and DD (18months) are making our first trip back to WDW this fall since DD was born. We currently have a MK tower view at the Contemporary. We are toying with upgrading to the club level MK view. We think it might be nice with our daughter to have access to all the goodies on the level.

My BIL, SIL, and DN might also make the trip, but due to $ flow they are looking at staying at a value resort. My question is what is the do's and dont's of having guests with you on the club level?

When we went together last time and statyed at the WLV, we frequently went back to the resort in the afternoon to swim and relax, if they didn't want to go the Pop are they allowed up with us to enjoy the snacks, and are they allowed up there to watch Wishes with us?

If there is already a thread about this, just direct me to it. Thanks!

Well, the additional amount you pay to book club level is for the use of the lounge and the food by the people who are on the reservation for the room. It's not intended to provide access to the lounge for guests of the guests. :)

The lounge is sized to comfortably accommodate the number of guests who are booked in club level. The amount of food they provide is determined the same way. You can imagine how crowded the lounge would be at Wishes time, and how quickly the food would be gone, if several guests brought family and/or friends along.

So no, it's not customary for club level guests to bring family or friends staying at other resorts to the lounge. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Gosh, I hope I am not opening a can of worms here, but I don't think club benefits including snacks are open to non-club guests. Club benefits are for those who have paid for the priviledge. You typically need to show your "room card" to access the club. Maybe you could ask the concierge in advance if your party could watch wishes with you, that way you would know ahead of time and not embarrass anyone. I have heard of folks trying to sneak in and being escorted out.

 Unfortunately, no, it's not appropriate to bring guests ... :sad2:

The managers of the CL lounges know the number of guests checked in and have access to a list of the numbers checked in to each room. They will know that there are people on the lounge who are not on the CL list. We stay in CL every trip and have been told it's for registered CL guests only and not visitors.

I know at BC club level, we checked in on the club floor. We checked in at desks located right next to the lounge. You have to pass by those desks every time you enter the lounge. The staff knew our whole party and was very personable with us. I would think they would know right away, if someone was up there that hadn't paid to be there. Only experience with BC, but I'm pretty sure with all CL, only the people who have paid to stay there are allowed.

Hey thanks for the responses. I was assuming it was a no-no, but wanted to double check. We have thought if they do come along we won't be ungrading, which is a bummer cause I would like to do the club level finally.

One of the Contemporary Club Level Cast Members told us they don't mind if guests brought 2 or 3 friends up there, however if it was a huge number like 20 or more then there would be a problem. Now in the past I have brought friends of mine who are from Orlando to watch Wishes, however they didn't eat or drink anything. Plus the lounge wasn't busy where other guests staying up there couldn't be able to watch Wishes from the Atrium Club balconies.

In fact last month when staying Club Level at the Boardwalk Inn I was meeting another set of friends of mine from Orlando and they wanted to say hello to my family before we had went home. Anyway when we got into the lounge one of the Cast Members got them two chairs to sit down at our table, so they didn't mind they were up there. Now if you were wondering they also didn't eat or drink anything.

Not to hijack your thread, but my DW, DD and myself are staying club level at WL and my inlaws and parents are staying in standard rooms at WL. DD is turning 2 and may have an afternoon with the grandparents while DW and I tour some of the parks alone. Would they be able to take DW back to our room? They would not be going into the lounge at all. Just on the club floor to get to our room.

That won't be a problem - they will need one of your key cards of course.

So do it. They are not children and I'm sure they won't care. It's not your responsibility to feed them CL snacks. :confused3

If we are going to the parks, we will need our kttw cards. Is there a way to get a duplicate card so they can use it?

Not likely. That would give unauthorized persons access to Club Level.

You could get your park tickets separated out from your room keys, or at least one of you could, and give that room key to one of the grandparents for that afternoon. Or one/both of you could swap your KttW with one/both of them for the afternoon, if it won't confuse the number of park admissions you'll all have remaining; or add a day onto each of their passes for about $5 each if it would make them lose a day otherwise. Cheap in the big picture.

If they are not staying at the same resort as you, you won't be able to swim together either.

But all of you could go up to the fourth floor observation level on the same level as Chef Mickey's and stores. You don't have to be a guest at the CR to go out there.

But, should you eventually stay on a club level, make sure you are dressed before you go to the lounge in the morning. No pajamas in the lounge, please.

A few years back while checking in at AKL CL, I introduced CL CM to sis and nephew (they were with me at check in) and I explained that they were staying at POP, but could I invite them over and bring them to the lounge with me -- was told that there would be no problem with it. They came for midday/afternoon snacks, evening, and morning once each. I did take nephew swimming with me as well. All you can do is ask nicely. CL was never that crowded either.

I have seen little kids wearing pajamas in the lounge and I don't think anyone would mind if they were wearing them in there, although I do agree for adults it's a different story.

Sorry but I think this is wrong. CL is reserved for those guests who pay for it - not their family and friends. This kind of thinking may be why there are reports of evening appetizers running out and not being replaced. They plan for a certain amount of people and if each person is bringing a guest - well there you go.

BTW pool hopping from resort to resort is not allowed either. That is why each pool has a sign posted that the pool is for resort guests only (unless you are DVC).

Not that a lot of folks actually followed this one at GF RPC. I saw a lot of people in barefeet, bathrobes, and pajamas. One family showed up in bathing suits still wet from the pool.
