Club Level AKL - Can You Sneak In?

Hey, I sure will enjoy my stay at GF RPC!
And then, the YC, BC, BWI, CR, Poly and already the WL CLs........
at least NONE of them have DVC in their lounge.

You do know that DVC members can use their points to stay at YC, Polynesian and GF concierge levels, right?

Also, if I have a regular CL club room, does that mean I am on the 6th floor and have an obstructed view of the savannah?

No, your CL room will be on the fourth floor and you'll probably have a great view of the savanna. We were on the fourth floor once and I think it was Ostrich trail and we had a great view from our room. We were also on the fifth floor before the change and had Arusha savanna. Enjoy your stay.

By the way, I'm sure the OP has already regretted using the word "sneak" in the title of the thread. I don't really think that was her intention.

Actually, if I'm being honest, I'd have a problem with you attempting to do anything to "sneak" your parents into CL. The fact that you used "sneak" in your thread title implies that you know this is wrong.

I'm staying at AKL in August, and I paid extra to have access to club level services. I wouldn't think it right to sneak anyone into the lounge who hasn't paid to be there or been (luckily) upgraded to CL.

No one can stop you from bringing your parents some edible goodies from the lounge, but I honestly hope that the CMs turn them away from actually entering the lounge, and I think that putting them under your name when they're not paying for the CL room is sneaky.

I am sorry Scott, but this person has paid for a room where she is allowed to have 4 people with her. Which means she can bring 4 people to club level. Adding her parents to her room will allow them to use the club level. The fact that the parents choose to have their own room and not stay in the one bedroom should not stop the "kids" from adding the parents to their room. Lets look at this from Disney standpoint. . .4 people pay for a one bedroom and a studio. Both rooms can accommodate 4 people. A total of 8 people can stay in these two rooms, however, there is only 4 people staying. Disney wins financially because of these peoples choices and no one loses. Using the club level is not an issue because the op can add her parents to her room. Her wording is off. . .and she should just have said "can I add my parents to my room so they can use the Club Level lounge?"

Okie dokie. I heard something on Hannah Montana show the other day. It went: "Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya." Or, in other words, enjoy your stay at the Grand Floridian!

Well ... since it's a DVC room the OP can register her parents as guests in her room at no additional charge. In that case they are allowed to all access to the club lounge with their very own little gold key. No asking, sneaking or asking permission. Totally 100% legal and above the board.

After reading all the replies, I guess all you have to do is register them to your room. If this this is allowed then I would not feel guilty, and I wouldn't let anyone let me feel guilty.

I do understand all you were doing was asking a question.

Yes, I do know that. You know I have been going to WDW for a long time! And I know all the layouts of the AKL resort from the beginning to now.
And I do NOT have a problem with that, YOU SEEM TO BE MISSING MY POINT.

Problem: the AKL villas should have never replaced the 5/6th CL and became a part OF the CL experience there. But, then again, that is MY OPINION.
If having my opinion makes me a snob, so be it. Whatever.

Now, if a DVCer staying on points stays at the YC, Poly or GF CL, and they want Mom or Pop to come up to the lounge, as they are staying in a standard room, as Disney states, they need to either get them a CL room or add them unto their CL room, which is an extra $50.

No problem here, as I have friends that do that. What was your point? There is no DVC villas in the lounge in those concierges?

I think what she means is that DVC should not have added their own villas to the Club Level floors at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so they should have left it with regular rooms like at the other Deluxe Resorts with Club Level floors/buildings.

Every day when the offerings were due to come out, one or the other of them would go to the door and let the relatives in so they could go to the lounge.

I figured that since they were foreign, and since the couple had booked the suite, that the CM's were just looking the other way.

I saw something a lot worse this past August in the Atrium Club Level lounge at the Contemporary. While my family and I were there all of the sudden about 25 - 30 people came in and there was also a few little kids who kept running around the whole time in the lounge. Well it turns out a few of those people were staying up there, however the rest of those people were not and they were making a lot of noise and it was very hard to enjoy ourselfs. So these people were either friends or family staying on other floors of the Contemporary. Later that evening when we returned they had put out two signs in the lounge in english and spanish that said the Atrium Club lounge was reserved for guests staying up there and in all years we have been staying there they never put those out. We then started speaking to one of the Club Level Cast Members who told us they don't mind if guests bring 2 or 3 friends or family into the lounge for food or drinks because they are not bothering anyone, however he also told us what these people did was wrong. When I asked how come they were told they didn't have to leave I was told the 1st time they are not allowed to say anything, however if the people staying up there brought them back up a 2nd time then they would need to tell them those other people wouldn't be allowed into the lounge.

Maybe we should take a courtesy test after tackling a million papers,harsh customs and giving all private information about ourselves before we even are allowed to set foot on the holy soil called America.

She carried a paper and was obviously "looking around and confused". She walked into one of the hall ways and looked at the numbers on the doors.
Confused looking at the paper she carried then she went to the tables loaded a plate full with the offerings ,a glass of wine and just stayed there until around 7 pm when the wine was taken away. We noticed her for several days.

Looking back and reading your commend I should have asked her if she also was from overseas like us,who knows maybe even from my country.

Just saying ME ME ME and entitlement is not a exclusive problem that only foreigners have.

No offense taken I was just smiling about the word foreigner.
We met several CM that worked in WDW who came originally from my country. After hearing our language several of them were send to our table to chat with us. We were very surprised to hear a waiter suddenly talk to us in German, our neighbor country. Obviously talking in your language from your motherland stays important even after working 34 years for the mouse as one waiter told us.

The reason that was done was because they could not regularly fill all the rooms at AKL. So they decided to make some DVC.

If a member uses points at these resorts, they can register up to 5 people in the room at no extra charge.

Just wanted to add that i love the AKL...i so enjoy a yummy drink after a busy day. The barkeep at the AKL made us 3 drinks we now love ... a blue monkey, zebra fizz and a snake bite

Why is there a problem with DVC members? I read through the entire thread and I think maybe I am missing something?
People are people, no? If you have 3 rooms and 2 are regular people and 1 is DVC, is there really a problem?

Can someone explain? I obviously ate too many cookies tonight and the sugar has me on a brain freeze-

I don't see a problem with DVC members, but I was confused too. I understand now that it is unusual for a concierge lounge to be shared by resort guests and DVC members as it is at AKL---unless the DVC members have used their points to get club level accommodations at the Yacht Club or Grand Floridian, I guess---but I don't know why sharing would be a better or worse arrangement than usual as long as one group doesn't somehow get the short end of the stick. I guess I will find out after I return from AKL CL in July. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to my Sunrise Safari.

Would it matter in the long run if everybody tries to sneak in people for free in the lounges,lies about the age of children, puts 7 sleepers in a room of four, parks for free at the hotels or rents a room in hotel the Cockroach and then goes swimming at a Disney resort?
What do you think yourself about it? And I'm not talking about the moral side of this but just the plain down to earth dollar side.

In the long run this kind of behavior will rise the prices for all of us. Disney is a company that likes to make profit. At the end of the year they just look at the bill and hit us all with price increases for the lost they make by cheaters.

Sorry there is no way to sugar cote this but we all pay for cheaters in the long run. Maybe you know the saying many little ones make one big one. Every penny stolen or cheated will add up to millions at the end of the year.
