Club Disney Closing?

I agree with you but it's just what I've heard.

As crazy as some things have been lately, we just never know. Honestly at this point I don't care where they put it, just bring it back (and keep the price). It was a blast from start to finish and one of the best values we've ever gotten at Disney. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Club Villain was $99 I believe. Many actually have this one good reviews and money well spend. It's basically dinner and a show better than just desserts and a show.

That beats desserts and a no show...

Remember those cupcake things feature the same "show" that's included in the ticket with no upcharge 15 feet away.

That's one of my beefs...and they are REALLY old shows

So far I only have it booked for one for next weekend-- trying to pick up any cancellations-- from what I read it is good. 2.5 hours of self serve food, drink, and dessert with a good show mixed in. The 99 is after tax.

Yeah, it came out last week that it will continue but just seasonally. My guess is that it makes more sense when the parks are full of younger kids - holidays, spring breaks, summer. Not worth the effort to them when it's mostly empty. When we went I would say 50 kids & parents tops were in there dancing, about 6 were coloring on the screens, the sofas were almost all empty and no one was buying the food. Most CMs were just standing around. Come warmer months I imagine it will be a sought out destination just for the chill factor if nothing else.

It was a great spot to charge phones, loved the charging system - you didn't need your cord and adapter like you do at Space Mountain.

Why did they build this building if it is just going to be empty most of the year? Especially with so much closing at DHS already. It is just an odd building in and odd location.

Not knowing what the venue looks like (or how big it is) .. my guess was this is where Frozen (and future shows like that) would move to once the current building is torn down/refurbed with Star Wars Land.

Obviously they have some future plans for it .. more than just a season Club Disney .. just odd they can't think of anything better to put there while DHS is hurting for attractions.

Actually the building is quite brilliant. Within a couple hours they can completely change it as they did between Club Disney and Club Villain. This means in time they can utilize this building for many different options, even a few each day if they want. It is exactly what it's permit called it "Flex Theater" and it can change quickly and easily. It's like a play on the Black Box theater concept.

Around the top of the building is a screen that creates a great environment based on what they are running. Tons of audio, lights and ability to change up the whole feel. I did both the Club Disney and Club Villain and it was completely different in a matter of hours.

There is a "dance" floor in middle, ability to change out the sides areas, bring tables in and out etc. It has it's own bathrooms and a large courtyard outside that can do pre-event entertaining or utilize both together. The courtyard has an incredible backdrop of Tower of Terror and we even saw the Fantasmic fireworks while we were out there. It is gated apart from the park so perfect for private events within the park during park hours.

Frozen show has already moved into the old American Idol theater but no, this is not that kind of theater. There is no set seating so don't look for shows. This is set up for events. This has the potential to be used much more than any traditional theater.

It's a flex building its not supposed to hold anything permanent.

As others have pointed out the building was never intended to host one permanent show but will likely be heavily used. They will likely hold some competitions there, try out new ideas and run seasonal things. I wouldn't be surprised if they use it for Corporate functions too. Isn't DHS the park that is most commonly used for those?

Yes they hold a CM recognition party there every year.

rteetz, are you still hearing rumors that Club Villain is coming back? If so, any idea when? We're there early March, and are hoping that they'll add March back in. (We had our March reservations for it canceled.)

I haven't heard anything new except for maybe sometime in March. Nothing set in stone of course.

I don't understand why they added in club villain and then just get rid of it! It looked like a good show... AND everyone loves the villains
