We got married at WDW, and our photographer is a member of club 33. He said that he always does his best to get his bride and grooms into the club if they ask. I would love to have the experience, but wonder if taking the 15mo and the 3 mo would be frowned on.

I hope someone here can shed light on this, I hate to bother him if it's not a good idea. Also, do you need to dress up for this or is standard park attire ok? I was thinking maybe a polo and khacki shorts for DH, and a nice shirt and khacki shorts for me?

Anything else I should know about this?

Thanks!

Mind if I ask who your photographer was? I've heard great things about Randy and was wondering if it was him.

If you're going for lunch, I think you can wear shorts, not sure, though. For dinner you cannot. When we went in Feb. we all had on nice jeans and sweaters. It was cold!! You don't have to dress up, but you can if you want to. We had planned on it, but it was too cold to wear what we had brought along. You could tell the people who had spent all day in the park and the ones who mainly came for dinner. If you do go, they will give you the dress code ahead of time so you can plan accordingly

As far as kids, we did see kids there. I personally wouldn't have brought my youngest two, but that's just because I know I wouldn't have been able to enjoy myself. I would be too worried about how they would behave. Now, if it was when my oldest was little, I wouldn't hesitate. She was an angel. So I would say it would be up to you, since you know your kids.

Hope you get to go!! It's a wonderful experience:cloud9:

When we go next month my 9 year old will be with my Mom (who's going too on our trip). Only because I wanted this to be a special meal for DH and I.

I would think kids would be okay, as long as they behave and all. I mean for us it's a once in a life time experience, I know I wouldn't want it ruined by having to hear kids crying and acting up through out the whole thing.

Thanks for the quick reply's! It sounds like kids are not unheard of, and I agree, it would only be something to do if I knew they would be ok. I know my DS would be a perfect angel, but have no clue what the little one will be like yet. I think I will ask the member his thoughts on the subject and go from there. I want to enjoy the experience, and do not want to infringe on others enjoyment. I'll have to ask about the cancellation policy in case the kiddos wake up sour, and I know they won't cooperate.

Pez-I'll PM you!

Heather

We will be going in November with our DD (8) and DS (2). I recently found out that I can get reservations thru my work. Woo Hoo! We got early lunch reservations so that everyone should be in a good mood and it seems more casual.

Here is what my reservation confirmation says about the dress code...

Lunch- No beach attire, sandals or tank tops. Walking length shorts and jeans are acceptable provided they are not extremely faded or torn.

Dinner - Men (Collared shirts and trousers) Women (an informal dress or pants with blouse).

Also says that cancellations must be made within 48 hours or a $100 fee will be charged to the member.

Counting down the days...

this is something we have been dying to do. how do you get in or get membership?

Be a millionare or up, have a multi-national or equally huge business,or a fabulously brillant family member who joined in the good old days, and a lot of patience to wait many, many years on the waiting list to pay the bucks to have a membership.

Sadly its out of my league right now :sad1: But one day it will be mine :cool1:

There were plenty of little kids last time we were there for dinner, and no one minds. They will seat you accordingly as best they can - they had kids towards one end and adults with no kids toward the other, and we ended up smack in the middle. A couple of times one of the babies in there fussed a little but no one even noticed. There is a lobby with a bench downstairs in the club and you could always take her/him down there to calm down and then back to your table if you were really worried about it. I wouldn't just let the baby cry insanely the whole time, but no one is going to think twice about normal kid noise. Now, if you HAVE the option to leave them with someone, I would jump at it... it is really a neat opprtunity that you will want to remember!

I was thinking of doing the earliest lunch possible. I agree that the kiddos will be more pleasant, and the more casual atmosphere is more our style. Plus, I found a website with pictures of the dessert buffet at lunch time, and boy did it look good!!! :cheer2:

I need to contact him, and see if it's even available before I get too excited!!! Thanks everyone for the info!

Heather

Actually, you do not need to be a millionaire. The current fee is 10K one time membership fee and about 3K per year to maintain the membership. To be put on the wait list to become a member, you would need to have submitted a letter of interest the the 1313 Harbor Blvd address. Unfortunately, they have stopped taking names for the waitlist as it is currently at about 1000 people and is an estimated 10-15 year wait as they have only had 3-5 memberships become available over the last 3 years. They are hoping to add memberships to soon but currently only carry 500 total at this time.

As for children, they are welcome to come and enjoy. If your little one becomes fussy, there is a nice sitting area in the ladies room. Be sure to give your member 60 days notice to book the ressie for you. Good luck and have fun.
