Clothes in the dryer

Hang or fold right out the dryer, while still warm....I HATE to iron!!!

I pile them all on the dryer until they start falling off. Then I make my husband move them to the bedroom with the full intention of folding them.

Then it sits and sits and sits.

More laundry accumulates, I wash it, it comes out of the dryer and gets piled on top. When it is falling all over it gets move to the big pile in the bedroom.

Then it sits and sits and sits, until the kids start whining they are out of underwear. They have learned how to sort thru a BIG pile of laundry to find their skivvies.

More laundry accumulates, I do more wash, it comes out of the dryer and gets piled on top. When it starts falling on my head I make my husband move it to the HUGE pile in the bedroom.

By this time the kids are now whining they have no school clothes it is then and only then that all this stuff gets folded and put away. If I am lucky I can get away with this for almost a full month.

Does it need to be said I despise laundry or has this become painfully obvious? ;)

I lightly place them in a basket while they are still warm - They aren't smushed any more than they were in the dryer. Then I take them a few steps away to the breakfast bar in the kitchen where I fold them while they're still warm.

I am a laundromat launderer....love it!!

I take them out of the dryer....to be folded goes in one pile, to be hung in another and socks and undies get piled for later!!

The laundromat laundering means 2 hours for 1 weeks of clothes for 4 people!!

I'm supposed to FOLD my clothes? lol!
Seriously, I don't do either. I have men in my family for that job. "Delegate" is my motto.

I carefully put them in the basket and then go to my bedroom and pour them out on the bed to fold or hang up (most).

BTW DH does most of the laundry.

:laundy: I HATE FOLDING! I do all the laundry & put it on top of the Ping-Pong table & hope the laundry fairy shows up to fold it :laundy:

Then if she doesnt I offer $8.00 an hour to fold it to anyone who is interested.

If that doesn't work I use it as a punishment.

If I do not have anyone to punish I leave it there until someone wants to invite a friend overnight & say not until the laundry is folded. :laundy:

Bad Mommy!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hang or fold right out the dryer, while still warm....I HATE to iron!!!

That's me too! I handle the folding and hanging, but each family member is responsible for putting his/her own clothes away. When something needs to be ironed, it is almost always DH who does it. He is so much better at it than I am.

I fold them at the dryer. Try to get there right away to keep any wrinkling to a minimum and I find I rarely need to iron anything.

I throw them in a basket and take them upstairs. I then either fold them in my room, or in front of the tv. I try to hang things up immediately so I don't have to iron.

Me too.

Now, I can't believe someone posted this question about laundry habits! I was wondering the same thing the other day when I was at DSis's house to help with her laundry. (She just broke her ankle during the ice storm.) She's a folder, so I did her laundry her way. It got me wondering....then I came to the DIS and see that Cantw8 was reading my mind. Spooky.

I am a smusher. I don't really have enough room in the laundry room to fold there, so I bring them into my bedroom, and fold on my bed.

That way, I put away clothes for DH and me while I fold, and bring the kids' clothes to their rooms, and don't end up with big stacks of clean, folded clothes that need to be put away.

Denae

It depends on the load.

For whites I stand at the dryer and make a big pile of the socks, but I fold DH's t-shirts in front of the dryer and stack them up then take them to the bedroom to put in the drawer. The pile of socks I take to the bedroom, sort mine from DH's on the bed, fold them and put them in the drawers.

Everything else I stand in front of the dryer to fold, put everything in piles on top of the washer/dryer and then take care of them from there.

 You mean they come out of the dryer folded and placed in your dresser AUTOMATICALLY????

Hubby's do. :wizard:

I do carry them from the dryer in a basket to either the couch or my bed to fold, but I wouldn't use the word smush to describe how I put them in the basket. I'm actually pretty careful about how I put them in the basket - heavy things like jeans and towels on the bottom, and the most wrinkle-able (how's that for a word?:rotfl: ) on top. I also fold them as soon as I get to the couch or my bed, and I usually put them away immediately too, but apparently not always, since I'm staring at two pajama bottoms, some socks, some underwear, a couple of bras, 2 towels, and some shirts all sitting on the sofa mocking me right now! :rotfl2:

I stand in front of the dryer and fold what needs to be folded. I take the t-shirts and put them on hangers right away.

I despise doing laundry. -.-

Whenever I do it, since the laundry room is connected to my parents bedroom, I always fold the clothes on their bed- so I can watch TV. :goodvibes

For the whites we just smush them up in a big ball and put them in a basket. That basket will get set on top of our deepfreeze or kitchen table where they will sit for a few days. When we run out of towels and underwear, etc. We'll go searchin' in the basket. Eventually somebody will either fold them on the kitchen table or sit in front of the TV and fold them.

As for darks my mom is completly odd about that. The very second the dryer stops she runs from wherever she is and throws open the dryer door. And starts hanging them right then and there very quickly. SPEED FOLDING~! After she gets them all on the hanger this is when she yells at me "JENNY! COME AND PUT THE CLOTHES UP!" then I trudge to the laundry room. I take my dads hanged clothes and throw them on the bed, even though I'm going to their closet anyway. I hang up my mom's clothes. As for mine, I just either hang them on the door knob (instead of walking the extra few feet to my closet) or actually hang them in the closet (WOW). Sometimes I'll just throw mine on the bed oto. I rarely do that because we have dogs and cats and I hate hair on my clothes...ICKY!

So there is my laundry story. It is like I always say, if you know how someone folds there laundry you know how they live there life... Well ok not really but it is 7:50 in the morning and I'm still a little crazy.
