Besides getting your DVC card, do you receive anything else in the mail? We signed the paperwork at the DVC center in Orlando, received our temporary DVC card and then received a new set in the mail three weeks later.

Is there anything else we should be receiving? We already have copies of everything signed, etc, just wondering.

I know the Disney Visa Gift card will come 4 - 6 weeks after closing, so I'm not concerned about that, more so just if we are missing some sort of paperwork.

In several weeks you will receive a copy of your recorded deed. You should also get the vacation planner book.

Now that I'm home I had a chance to review my paperwork. We signed on September 6th, and in our paperwork there is an estimated closing date of October 6th.

We already have all the rest of the stuff, including the planner for 2008 - 2009 that we received when we signed on site. Considering it is now a week after the estimate, I'll give a call to our guide tomorrow to get some reassurance.

I don't understand what needs to be reassured? What are you expecting that you haven't received?

The only things that you will receive are the DVD signed documents and your deed. Both take several weeks. The deed takes about 8 weeks at least.

You don't need anything else to make your reservations. In the eyes of the DVC you are a member. Have you called MS yet to get your website access info?

We received all of our log on information when we signed, this isn't about being concerned with making reservations, more that I want to put the thing to rest and have all the paperwork in hand. It's not a big deal, more of an annoyance.

Update:

I confirmed we closed on 09/24/2008 according to the tax documents I found on the county's website. As of today, I still have not received any other documentation from Disney.

I also have not recieved the gift card, so yesterday I sent off a message to DVC. I received a generic response advising they had to forward it to another area, and then today, I just received the following:

Disney E-mail said:
The request has been sent to have the gift card sent out. We are very sorry for the error.

So, lesson learned and should be noted, don't assume everything is alright. It is now 9.5 weeks since sign and just over 7 weeks since closing and from the e-mail response, I could have been waiting even longer until they found their error. Now lets see how long it takes to receive the actual card in the mail.

Good for you for being on top of it! I'm sure errors happen and it wasn't intentional. Congrats on your purchase!
