Thanks for the siggy design Rob !
I'm heading back to Vero for only our second trip (first one was 2001). Funny thing is, we're actually going back during the exact same week as when we were there in 2001.
I have no recent photos but love the ones that are posted here. I'll be sure to post some when we get back.

Thanks Rob!

We'll be back there in April (2BR lockoff) with MIL from Harrisonburg. We are praying that our lockoff will get us an Ocean view.

Hey HixSki,
Where was that first picture taken from? an Inn room?

Gorgeous pictures, so clear. I miss the ocean. The Great Lakes don't do it for me, and neither does the gulf!!

I'll join, we love Vero Beach :goodvibes , here's some more pictures to get everyone in the mood

Now here's a bold shot. Standing out in the VB surf with your back to the waves and your $800 digital camera in hand to get that special angle, lighting, and ambience. Nice shot :worship:

Yes, that picture was taken from our room. Ocean view inn room. It was nice to go out in the morning on the balcony with our coffee. When we go next year I am hoping to get the same general view. We kind of liked overlooking the pool and the ocean. I wouldn't complain about a full ocean view but I like the view we had.:thumbsup2

Hixski,
We also had a similar ocean view and would be happy to get it again. Not full ocean view, but great regardless. Here was our view :

Best part was this was taken the first week in January '08 and the Ocean sure wasn't as warm as the pool. Walk in, turn around, take picture, run out :thumbsup2

We are just back from SSR tonight! We have decided that our next trip will be to Vero Beach next year or the year after. When is the best time to go? If it is "crazy busy" what does that mean for this resort? I realize there are no lines to wait in for rides, but what are the other downsides? We are really feeling blue about being home (there were record highs in Orlando and we returned to Minnesota cold and snow) so I am excited to hear about all of the wonderful things about Vero. Any tips about rooms and requests would also be helpful (we will have to book at 7 month window).

Our kids are 9,9 & 8 if that helps... getting harder to take out of school...:scared:

Thank you!:goodvibes

Even though I grew up going down to the Jersey Shore, I have lived in Indiana for over 20 years now and rarely get to see the ocean. The first time we went to Vero was a couple of summers ago, and DH drove up to the front and I went inside to check us in. I will NEVER forget walking into that spacious, airy lobby and looking out cross the back patio and over perfect, bright green lawn to that beautiful, sparkling blue ocean. It took my breath away. The next morning my children got to hold tiny baby sea turtles, and they still talk about how wonderful that was.

I am a Vero fan for life!

We have been there twice when the resort was totally sold out. I would like to tell you that it is horible :headache:   , but my mother taught me not to lie.:rolleyes1

Honestly, we ask ourselves several times; 'Where are all the people? :confused3 The only problems we saw were maybe chairs at the pool or beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.

I'm easily convinced to do just about anything if VB is involved. But seriously - Rob - do you want me to send you the info in a PM so you can paste it to the top of this thread?

I'm going to start a thread just for the 08 swap - since there's lots of interest - much more than last year.

Don't know how, but I missed your post. I think I can copy and paste myself from your original thread. I think I'll just start a new thread. I'll let you know if I am unsuccessful. Thanks.

Okay, if this is going to be a REAL adoration thread, you need to let the rest of us know WHY you adore it! :upsidedow

I feel like I know nothing about this resort except that it looks beautiful! Is there a place to get more VB info? Like the best time of year for the turtle stuff? I'm also wondering if the point "seasons" are based on school vacations or the weather? We're from Minnesota and hate to travel away during the summer because it is so beautiful here. We'd much rather escape during the winter, but I am concerned about weather in VB. I know I can check the average temp, but that really doesn't mean anything when you are considering wind, humidity, etc. I'm guessing it is pretty windy and much cooler on the east coast... I've only been to the Gulf.

We're ready for a totally relaxing, no parks, enjoy the resort type of trip. Kids would be 11 & 10.

Has anyone been to HHI AND VB? What is the major difference? Temp?

Please direct me to a different thread if you need to, I'm just starting out with these plans, as we returned two days ago from an 11 day Grand Gathering trip that took me two years to plan and I'm feelin' the low...
