Closest Hotel to the Poly?

Hello! We are planning to arrive in late on a Friday in Sept. and are looking for a hotel for just one night until we can check into the Poly on Sat. morning. Would it be better to look at the Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area OR the Disney Main Gate/Champions Gate area?

I am probably going to book through Hotwire or Priceline. Any suggestions would be appreciated! TIA

I'd look at DTD. If you come in through the side entrance by FW it's shorter than coming up from Main Gate.
