There is also lemonade available at the refill stations. Kid's meals come with a drink so when you order their food, you can get them milk, chocolate milk or apple juice. Also, if you are on the dining plan and eating at your resort, you get a drink entitlement with an adult meal, so you can drink from your mug and use your entitlement to get a large bottle milk or a bottle of a variety of juices.

Sorry, those August mugs expired last August. You'll need new mugs if you plan to use the refillable mug program. If you purchase the dining plan, you'll get mugs with the plan.

The cheaper items are the ones that are free. The more expensive things like milk and juice are not free. Makes sense to me.

oh i understand about the costs of milk & juice versus pop....doesn't stop me from wishing!
what i may end up doing is fill all 4 of our mugs (we get them with DDP) with pop or whatever for DH and myself and then buy drinks for the kids as needed (we plan to get milk etc to keep in the fridge anyhow!)

I don't know for certain the mugs won't change before October but it's my prediction they won't based on how they did mug designs for the last several years. Here's what is available now, along with a blue lid:

My husband and I are staying at the All Star Sports 2 weeks from now. They no longer use the same mugs as they did this time LAST YEAR, correct? We bought some mugs last year the day before we left and refilled them exactly 2 times.


The new mugs have some kind of chip in them? The soda machine doesn't work unless you have a special type of cup? What if you don't get a mug and want to refill your paper cup? Do the paper cups have chips on them? Can I refill my paper cup the next day?

No, you are not supposed to. That's why they are "paper, disposable" cups.

Disney's rule is that the only mug you can refill is the one purchased during your current trip. No mugs from old trips, no paper cups, or mugs purchased somewhere else.

The rules for the mugs are written right on the side of the mug. If you used your old mugs only twice, you got a nice little souvenier to bring home with you that provided you two rather expensive drinks.

I read that report as well, that the RFID chip test at All Star Sports has ended.

Out of curiosity, is the RFID tag removable once you get home, as we use our old ones non-stop, and wash them in the dishwasher, but did not know how an RFID chip would work in a dishwasher, LOL

If you were there August 2011 .... the mugs you have would be sufficient for your collection since they haven't released a new design since.

We have yellow tops too... do they not have those anymore?

Haven't seen any reports of yellow lids available for a while now. I think the main selection across the resorts is black, pink, and blue (what you called teal).

Exact same mugs we got in May 2011. They are very cute. They also hung on the stroller handle pretty well below 80% full, you just had to be careful you "spun" them on and off the stroller or you'd spill the contents.

They were great to fill with water and free ice as opposed to just lugging around the paper cups they provide. They also did a half way decent job of keeping the contents cool as well.

We are returning in December and I wouldn't mind a mug change by then, we have four from the last trip (plus the one my wife got at DHS which was identical except it had a purple handle and lid).
