Flounce skirt-I feel so stupid. Apparently last night I was too tired to be sewing. I apparently never cut the shorts piece out. So what pieces did I sew together for the shorts you ask? Why the sleeves to the peasant top I also cut out of the same fabric. :crazy2: You all have my permission to laugh at me. :rotfl2:I know I am. Carla there isn't anything wrong with your pattern just the person sewing it together. :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thank goodness!!! I thought I was losing my mind!

I'm making a size 5 pleated one today, and you had me all scared that my own pattern wouldn't work! :crazy2:

Phew!

This is absolutely stunning! We are huge fans of the old classic black and white. My daughter's favorite pins to collect are the black and whites. Did you make your own applique? I just love this.

Thanks! Yes, it is the "old fashion" kind of applique. I do not have an embroidery machine. I have thought about it several times but I decided to master hand applique first. I still have a LOT to learn. :)

Its Great!!! Love the pink in the back.
And have I mentioned your dress form is pretty cool also. Very Cute.

Wow! The outcome was definitely worth it!!!

Thanks!

I really like this. What will miss Sophee be sporting?

The girls will have the same outfit. I have the other SBW appliqued but I still have to construct the dress.

AIMEE! Love this! I love the pop of color on the back!
The Feliz is a little challenging, but I think worth the effort!

Thank you and I agree- the feliz is a pain to sew. I cursed "this stupid dress" the entire time but when I was finished. I was soooooo happy.

STUNNING! Does this come in a woman size 10 or 12????

Thanks! LOL I squeezed into one of the girls pettiskirts but they said NO! :)

This is stunning. i see you made your ties longer and have them on the outside, instead of the inside. This would also be perfect on the cruise ship with the artist pallete restaurant!!

For anyone considering doing the Feliz for the first time- I highly recommend using the tutorial on Trillium blog. Just do a google search for "Feliz dress tutorial" and it will be in the top 3 links- it has helped me so much, I havent even bothered to look at the text. My only question is if I am doing the seam allowance right to get the right size....we shall see!

Thanks! No, the ties are on the inside in the channel. I just scrunched the sides up to fit on the dress form. The forn is really decorative and not the right size.

I am going to check out the tutorial. That sounds good.
These are gorgeous! I love the color choices and the applique is amazing!

Thank you very much.

Fabulous! Steamboat Willie is so rarely seen, and making it colorful is the best!!! Beautiful! Are you making a colorful one to match with your other daughter?

Hey do not be modest . . . your were the one who suggested the pop of color! Thanks Griz. :) :) :) Yes, I have one more to make.

Aimee, I love this. I think it is just stunning. Hey, I love the dress form, and have been wanting to get one. Where did you get yours? Or does anyone here know where I can get a child-sized dress form?

Thanks! My little dress form is from Home Goods. I too would love a real dress form. I have seen the canvas and wooden ones on ebay.

This is so something I would do.

Bonjour,

Yes, still excited and hopeful that DH will take me to France.

I made this shirt for DH yesterday. I also have some TF fabric to make a bowling shirt but he wanted the applique so I did it.

this is so cool.

I have this Autobot symbol printed and ready to go as my first applique. Except, my son wants a red symbol on a black shirt. And he also says he would like the decepticon symbol on the back of the same shirt. Yours is real applique though. I figure I will just use felt and straight stitches.

Thanks! LOL I squeezed into one of the girls pettiskirts but they said NO! :)
I told Nik I want hers!

Oh and I think you got the applique thing down!!!
I was going to do the same thing until George told me i could get my embroidery machine and I figured i needed to jump before he changed his mine!:rotfl2: I got it on one of the coldest days of the yr! It was so cold the kids school was canceled and bad mommy that I am bundled them up and wet and got it!

This looks great! Your stitches are perfect. :) :) :)

Oh! In the midst of freaking out about my skort pattern, I totally forgot to let you all know that the sash tute is finished!

Thanks so much for all the great feedback! I ended up doing 3 bow sizes with 3 belt sizes each. The only thing that I didn't get in there that was requested was how to work the straps into the back of the bodice. I'll get that up there down the line, but I think Shannon explained it pretty well already :thumbsup2 . With this one, you'd just extend the blunt ends the needed amount.

Here's my first Raglan. I got the Pooh fleece as a remnant on Black Friday. Now it can be nice and warm when we go to WDW next week. My ticker is a day off because I never changed it when the 7 for 4 deal came out and I added a night. SOOOOOO much left to do!

This is fantastic!

I finished one more dress tonight. I have been slowing working on this one for three days. I have one more to make though. These are not exactly my favorite dresses to make but the outcome is totally worth it. :)

**** I resized the pictures. I have no idea why the are ginormous!!! Sorry!!!****
I saw this on facebook. I really like it, but I just now saw the back, and I love that!

I'm a little behind, so you've probably already made this, but the notches are the front and face up. I found this out the hard way when I was making a dozen for my DD's birthday party. Luckily I made a test one first or I'd have ended up with 12 names on the INSIDE of the hat! (and upside down too!) So... notches UP and that is the front.

This is what I wanted to do for Zoe's bday. Did you do a cookie decorating party? They look great! About how long did they take?
I have been reading these boards for over a year. We made our first trip to Disney last June. I made the girls several outfits from ideas that I saw on here. I will try to post some of the pics. We are planning another trip for June of this year....so I need to get sewing again. Thanks Missy

The girls are so cute. The outfits are great! Can't wait to see what you come up with for this trip!

I didn't mean to freak you out about the pattern. Now I feel really bad.:sad1:

Just downloaded it. I'm gonna have to try this today. I'm so excited!! Thanks so much, Carla! I don't know that I could sew without you!

Ok I need some opinions.

I am working on the family shirt designs for the tiny treasures give and made the girls an am now working on the boys. The girls are princess so I put Minnie as a princess in the date. The boys are fab 4 and so fr I have put Lightning McQueen in the date. I started out with chip and dale in the date, then tried Buzz and Woody, but they did not look right. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am making each person in the group of ten the designs in their favorite colors.

So anyway here is the girls in purple (it is also in pink, green, light and dark blue)

and the boys in red

Can anyone think of a different character for in the date or do you like the McQueen?
You would think the boys would be easy since I have 2 of them!

I feel that way too Shannon. At least it wouldn't be as cute, would it? And way more frustrating! Thanks so much Carla!

I have a question for those who have made the CarlaC flounce skirt. I am making one for Jenna and I am adding the shorts underneath. Well for some reason the shorts are much smaller than the shorts top piece. Is it supposed to be that way and I am just missing something? Please help, because the shorts don't look like they will fit Jenna at all.:confused3

You are making a 7? I printed mine out, checked it, double checked, then tripple checked with my tape measurer, and they are the same size for me. Are you sure your printer settings were set right? Did you cut everything on the fold that should be?

I can measure some of my pieces and then you can compare to what you have if you want.

(sorry if this was already resolved, I just saw the question and went and checked right away, I haven't got caught up yet!)

This turned out great!

Dallas has been bugging me for transformers shirts for over a year now! I told him I would do it this summer since I have some fabric to make him some shorts out of too.

Yup and kids where sufficiently bribed to behave! :rotfl:
