I'm so happy he's getting better!
Ok totally not clothing but I made some progress this weekend. I wanted to make a baby quilt for a couple at our church having their first. They are really young and have only been married for a year or so so they're still just starting out. I think they're 22 or so...anyway, I got to start it Friday, got it finished yesterday:
I'm gonna have to make some of those skirts for my DD. She hates wearing pants. Maybe once I clear out a couple of projects in my sewing room my DH won't cringe if he sees me start something new.
Wow! That is just beautiful!
1.)I can't wait to see what you make with that pattern. Neither can Leslie!
2.)"Our" Dolly Pops, huh? Well, let's chalk that up to one more childhood toy I thought was mine, but wasn't.
3.)We did have a much cooler stroller. But, it was the Pooh one from JCPenney that was recalled last year for high lead content. Now, they are just using a cheapie umbrella. I wanted to buy another cool one, but Henry felt Sawyer didn't need a doll stroller.
4.)Oh my gosh, would you look at my ticker!???
1.)I can't wait either!
2.)Sorry, yep, they were both of ours. They were on a really good clearance. I'm thinking at Kmart. So good the cashier had to call someone to make sure she could sell them to us at that price!
I don't think either one of us was lacking in the toy department though!!
Your toys that I remembe off hand (because I thought they were so cool!)
Fisher Price Little People Carousel (with that grumpy boy permanently hooked to the crank!)
Fisher Price Little People Hospital
Cool red tricycle (I never had a tricycle)
More stuffed animals than any human on earth!
That cool soap that was shaped like a dog.
The plastic needlework thing. I think it was a sun.
Miss Piggie puppet
That gear town (the one Mom stomped on when you ripped up my Cedar Point cards)
Those square little people type things with the forest (Mom still has those too I think)
Richard Scarry Mouse on a raft
That cool baby bottle that was shaped like an ice cream cone! (ok, that wasn't a toy, but it was the coolest bottle I had ever seen!)
I found this great mickey fabric.....

I just looked at CarlaC's patterns. Too cute!!! I want to do one of the bundles. I wish there was a make your own bundle. I want the stripwork jumper, patchwork twirl and simply sweet

Oh, I want the easy fit pants too
You will not regret buying them!!! Carla is great, they are worth every penny!
Hi Friends,
No time to read as we are heading up to the mountain. It is my first time on a new board that I got last year on a Pro form. I also got new bindings for Christmas.
I have only been riding once this year and spent 9/10 of the day teaching DS BFF how to snowboard. I am pretty scared!
We went to the city and I spent $36 at Joann's and $46 at Wal-mart

But I have some great fabrics for big gives.
Have a great day I will catch up with everyone tomorrow.
APRIL!!! Didn't we talk about this already?? You should NOT be snowboarding! Drive carefully!
My suggestion would be to buy whatever bundle she has and purchase additional patterns as available. You will eventually use ALL of them. Her patterns truly are the staples of my sewing repertoire! They are so versatile, and easy, and VERY cute! I can't say enough good about her patterns. Any seamstress should own EVERY SINGLE ONE of them! And, no, she's not paying me to say that!
Yep, what Shannon said!
I forgot to add that I have acquired an embroidery machine. It is a little bit older and not the best model, but I am excited to try it out. I of course know NOTHING about them. Then again, this time last year was the first time I had ever used my sewing machine
So, any good places to start learning about embroidery machines?
What brand and model number do you have? There are some links in the bookmarks for "machine embroidery" or maybe it's "embroidery machine" one or the other! You can get some good tips there!
Carla's patterns are why more than just a pattern-they have definitely made me a better sewer. The commercial patterns make me want to quit sewing.
I agree! Carla's patterns made me love sewing again!
here is clints big give shirt.

That turned out great!!! Thank you!!!
I can't agree more about CarlaC's patterns. I use them all the time!
I don't think I have picked up a commercial pattern in a couple of years now, except for the Farbenmix ones.
Speaking of Carla's patterns. I just finished this Simply Sweet dress for our trip. Four down, a couple of more to go!
I also used the quilting block tutorial on YCMT's blog to add the hem detail.
No model today, she is too busy playing with her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuff to give me any free time!
That is so cute Tom!!!! Four to go? I can't wait to see them all!!!
My daughter is the biggest Marie (from Aristocats) fan. I thought it would be great to make her something for our trip in October. I was thinking pink and black, just seemed like the colors would fit the whole Aristocat/Paris theme. I stumbled upon this fabric on
and I LOVE IT!!!! Question is has anyone seen this anywhere where it's not $20/yard

. That's a little...ok a lot

...more than I wanted to spend.
Thanks!
I LOVE that fabric too!!! I've only seen it on Ebay though.
I think Linnette once posted a purse made with the Disney Fabric Art squares....Has anyone else made anything with them that you would like to share?
Linnette used them to make a cute little dress too. I think it was the alice in Wonderland one. It was like blocks or something. Very cute! Maybe she'll repost the pictures for us!
