At least you had a pretty button to put on there. I think it came out great:thumbsup2

Yesterday was my DD's second birthday. I made her a little purse for her birthday:

Here is my attempt at a Marie cake:

IMGP3897.jpg
IMGP3898.jpg

She loves "Kitty Marie". Her grandma bought that stuffed animal for her when we were in Disney World in the fall, and Ava still carries it everywhere.

I had some left-over fabric from the purse, so I put together a little pillowcase dress:

IMGP3957.jpg

We stuffed the purse full of little trinkets for her:

IMGP3960.jpg

My DH even made some play money to go in it:

IMGP3955.jpg

Anyway, we had fun. It was a great birthday. I can't believe my little girl is two, now. Not a baby anymore :sad1:

Oh it all came out so cute. Little ones always seemt to love Marie. We do around here. I think DN is going to be Marie for Halloween! (just thinking ahead :rotfl2: )

I LOVE this dress. She looks great in it, sleepy and all. I do not sew but I love this thread so I can see all of your gorgeous creations. Then I beg my seamstress (aka Auntie) if she will make something similar. Darla has banned me from this thread. She actually answered the phone the other day "yeas I saw that cute dress, find the fabric."

I made these bows for a birthday party my girls are going to today.

I made it to match this shirt for the Birthday girl.

DSC02936.jpg

The birthday girl is turning 7 but is small for her age. Because of that she does not like anything too young looking. Should I not give her the bows?
I also got her some Gymboree clothes.

What do you think are the bows to little girl?

I think the Tink bows are cute. If she won't wear two bows, she may just wear the one, on a Pony. Kirsta would do that. Where did you get the Tink ribbon?

I've gone back through and looked at all the great work. Glad to know I'm not the only one who does this!

Here are some shots of outfits from our trip in 2007, when DD would allow me to make such a thing.

Now at the age of 10, she is not so keen on wearing such items....Here's what she's letting me make for her this trip:

Hopefully I'll get some more made...
I found some lovely rhinestone iron ons of tink and minnie on etsy that I'm going to put on some shirts for her and I've got my bag to make...

I'd love the bag!! Kirsta is 8 and she still does Disney outfits. But what goes to Disney, stays in Disney.

Thank you so much for everyone who asked about Lydia! She is still really sick. Sicker today than yesterday. She ate two crackers today, and I got her to drink a little. She's been sleeping most of the day. She just looks so sick.

Finished my latest Big Give outfit this afternoon.

th_Jan_misc.jpg

I also finished my daughter's Valentine's Skirt. Hopefully she will consent to model it soon. I showed it to her and she said thanks mom. She's in a nekkid kick right now and once her clothes are off, you can't get her to get dressed again just to hang around the house. It drives me nuts. ( I probably should clarify that she will be 3 in 2 months and is in the middle of Potty Training. Nekkid means running around in a pullup)
That is beautiful!!! Thank you so much for doing this!

A lurker delurking to say hello! I love all of the outfits you all create! I do not sew - at all. I do however make iron-on t-shirts and sweatshirts and just participated in my first big give so I thought it was time to officially say hello. I usually customize others dissigns but have started trying my hand at dissigning in photoshop elements.

I also love to scrapbook - especially our Disney trips. I have heard the word Cricut around here so maybe I will not be totally out of place among you boutiquers. ;)

Anyway - I just wanted to say hi and share a photo of my first Big Give shirt and a sweatshirt I made for our family trip. Jen

I LOVE the eeyore! I am a huge eeyore fan and I think it is just adorable! And this is really cute too!

Hi everyone! I just returned from Joanne Fabrics and bought some adorable polka dot fabric. My DD5 would like one of those "Minnie" sundresses to wear to Disney in May. I was hoping I could get some pattern ideas from the Disney Boutique ladies.

I tried to search the link on the first page but I didn't see anything similar to those in these postings.

I saw an adorable simplicity pattern but it was around $13. so I passed. It was a tank top looking sundress with an overskirt that had two bowties on each side with a contrasting underskirt. If I can't find anything else I will just watch for a pattern sale and pick it up.

Thanks for your help ladies and I look forward to hearing your ideas! :wave2:

Sorry to ramble. I am sure others will have more to say. But I just always remember, it is for the kids! to have a most magical wish trip! They all have something beyond their control and also have no control over what their parents post on the boards!

I know I'll be ready and refreshed and when the next give is posted!

I took a nap, and feel much better now!! :rolleyes2 Sorry to start the discussion on the Big Gives. Most families are very good at saying thankyou and whatnot, but others are not. I will say I had not thought of the parent getting caught up on the day to day living of having a disable child. But on the other hand, if you can post a trip report ..... Anyway, I do it for the child. And they have no control over what he parent may or may not do. It's a gift and when it arrives in thier hands, it's for them to do as they see fit.

I would also like to make a suggestion, if a parent doesn't want to post a picture of thier child for safety reasons, perhaps someone can watermark the pictures for them? It's something I've no clue how to do, but that may work for some parents.

Once again, I'm sorry to get everyone fired up. That was not my intention. I was just thoughtlessly thinking outloud. I'm happy again! Off to work on my Big Give outfit.

I am so sorry that Lydia is sick. I hope she starts feeling better soon. Kirsten was running a fever since last Sunday, and today is the first day that she is fever free. I took her to the pediatrician yesterday, and they did a flu test and it was positive...and including her, they had nine kids with positive flu test that morning!

Your stuff is really cute. I love that Tinkerbell bag. I just got a messenger bag pattern. I haven't attempted it yet.
Okay, here goes nothing! First attempt to post a photo...

This dress was my first smocking project. DD who is now 9 wore this dress when she was 4, 5 & 6. She wishes it would still fit! DD2 will hopefully wear it this Easter. Notice the sneakers! This is at the Easter Egg hunt at the Naval Academy and it is a run for your life event to get as many eggs as possible. The mids put out 1000's of eggs, it is so much fun!

Trust me, from what I've seen on these boards, you all can do it if I can do it!
I love that dress. How neat that she wore it three years. Are you going to try some Disney smocking?
Help. How do I fix my daughter? Do I want to fix her??

We call her Auntie her Fairygodmother and up until about a year ago I truly think she thought that all she did was waive a wand and clothes appeared. She has become accustomed to having special outfits. Last year at school they had free dress day at school as long as you dressed to the theme. One of the days was black/white checkers. Unbeknown to me she asked her Auntie for something checkered 2 days before. And the next day Auntie showed up with a checkered outfit.

If you have read this far.:thumbsup2

So I am getting her ready for a rest right now as she is going to a birthday party later today. She tells me that when she gets up she wants to put on her cute tinkerbell outfit.:confused3
I ask what cute tinkerbell outfit. You know for the party she replies.

What have I done???

She does have this....
DSC01896.jpg

She could wear it with a long sleeve top and jeans. Or should I just tell her to wear regular clothes???

Sorry for the loooooooooooong post.
Awww she should wear it with a long sleeve top. It's cute!

Great job on the Ariel outfit. Very cute.

Great Dissigns! I hope to see more of your work!

I would go to Youcanmakethis.com and get the A Line or Circle top patterns. But that simplicity pattern sounds cute too.

Does anyone know where I can get Cupcake fabric for a reasonable price? As usual I can't find anything I like here.

Lydia - Feel real better soon!!!!!!

I saw cupcake fabric at Joann's, but not sure how much it was.

Cute Ariel outfit! I love that fabric!

Cant wait to see the quilted jacket - I Love it when you make those - they re amazing!!!

I decided to take the advise (sorry forgot who suggested it) and added the water effect to the shirt

I added this top for Megan... (I know shamu was not on her list of favorites but I thought that for the sea-world trip she could use it)

I usually like to have at least two outfits per child but I procrastinated too much with this give and really had no time:upsidedow so I decided to make extra iron on t shirts for the kids...

MENTAL NOTE: USE MIRROR IMAGE WHEN DOING IRON-ON TRANSFERS:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I will tell you that I could have sewn at least two, three outfits in the same time that It took me to do the appliques and iron-ons !!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

PS: Teresa...My give is in the mail!!!

I really like the shirts. I liked them before, but the water effect really added to them. Nice job!

Just in case anyone was wondering about the simplicity pattern I mentioned above....I found it online. It is a Daisy Kingdom pattern #2988. It looks so adorable. I just get a little nervous when they just have a drawing on the cover and not an actual picture. I tend to get high hopes and then they don't look as nice when I complete them. I don't know if by chance anyone has used it before but if you have give me a shout. Thanks!

I don't know if this will work but here is the link:

I made that pattern. It comes out the way that it looks, but really if you want a pattern that is just as easy you can go with the Simply Sweet Pattern by CarlaC on YCMT.com. It has the halter option and really you get more options with her pattern.

Here is the one that I made.

Thank you. That dress is beautiful and so is the fabric you used! I went to you can make this web site and I wasn't sure what options to go with. I am going to check that one out now. Thanks again!

I love the tees!! One of my DD's favorite thing at WDW was the face painting. They really did a great job, the colors are so bright - here's my DD' version from AK too...Looks like the both got the Rockin' Rainbow!!

I hope all of these sick babies get better soon!! Nothing worse than sick babies!

Also, I was at JoAnn's yesterday -didn't really find anything that screamed out my name - but I did see that
pink argyle scotty dog fabric
that someone posted a while back. It seems to me, someone was looking for it too. I can't remember who or when and I can't find the reference BUT if you need it, let me know. I can probably make another run down in the next week. They had two bolts of it out.

Is this the Simply Sweet pattern? Crystal I lOVE THIS!!!!
Now I really MUST get that pooh toile! I think I'll call WalMart tomorrow. What do you think the odds are DH will go buy it for me? slim and none, I will have to have a covert operation "obtain Pooh fabric" or OPF!!!:cool1: -see here I am wearing my shades.

Okay- Ladies WHAT is with my luck lately?? This morning, Megan (2) wakes up at 6am (hubby gets her sat mornings) cranky and crying. He tells me later she was hot, but shivering. But then, by 10 she seems improved, I move forward with getting a babysitter so we can go see InkHeart. I check with him at 3pm and he says, yeah, we can still go, she's just quiet, but otherwise not worth cancelling our plans. I bring Jasper, my big chocolate lab who is for adoption to his new foster home and return at 5pm. Take her temp at 5:30 (1 hour before sitter is due) and she has a temp of 103.93!!!!
So we call and cancel.

Teresa- I sure hope Lydia is feeling better soon, nothing less fun than a sick child. Get well soon Lydia!!! I love seeing your smiling face while you pose with pretty outfits on!!!:cheer2:
Lydia I searched and found this little fairy to bring you pixie dust!!
tinkerbell-flower.jpg

and for anyone interested, heres my big 85lbs Jasper from Georgia

He was in boarding this past week, but then I heard that the place wasnt so hot so I got another volunteer to help me, he was an hour and half from me, so she went and got him and I drove out last night to pick him up. Im not supposed to be fostering while pregnant cause of my asthma, but when I saw him he had 3 sores he DID not have last week and Im so glad i got him out. They put this huge dog in a kennel that was barely bigger than a crate and an outdoor area about the same size- and no higher than 3.5ft! Grrrr. He's in a nice foster home tonight with a playful Husky. Hope someone applies to adopt him soon. He's such a mush.

A word on the Big Give. While I totally appreciate BOTH sides of the opinions, could we move this discussion over to the GIVE boards we have, and perhaps delete the comments we have here??? I only ask this because Im concerned about the families and sponsors who visit this site, and they might read this and it could cause hurt feelings or misunderstandings- not intended by anyone I am quite sure. Im happy to delete this part of my post at a later date if we all agree thats what should happen.

Hi
I come here often to look at all the great stuff you guys make. I just started to sew last fall and my DD is turning 5 in february and wants an Hannah Montana b-day party so I decided to give a try at a skirt (and after looking at all the pretty stuff you all made) here is her skirt:
janvier2009017.jpg

She used to be very shy and since she discover Hannah last fall she's a totally different girl...
I couldn't belive how easy it was to make this skirt, now I can wait to make some more ;)

I don't normally do this, but AmberGreenWalt is going through yet another tough time. She was one of the WISH families (back in December, I think) She is always so upbeat and their youngest (not their WISH child) is going through a rough patch again. I'm sure thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. I didn't participate in this GIVE but got caught up in her TR.
