Hi Guys,

Daniel had his therapy and radiation today, but was then admitted for a fever tonight - I guess this thing is to be expected through out the year. They did say that while he is doing radiation (5 days/week right now) chemo will be a low dose round.

Minnie- I know he had a good PT session today, and they took him to "work out" on the weights - they have also been using the wii fit with him. Im hoping he feels better by morning.

Does anyone know - can they give him something for the fever?????

THanks everyone, Wendy

I bought a couple designs from them yesterday and they are really cute!

I posted yesterday hoping someone might be able to help me figure out how to print out the designs I downloaded from Pegasus on my computer printer so that I could cut them out, put the fusible web on them and then hoop and applique them. I have appliqued before but I am not as good as all of you!! The tutorial was wonderful, btw. As are the bookmarks. I went through all of them yesterday too.

Hopefully someone can help me?

Do I need to have something to unzip the designs that I downloaded? I can save to my memory stick, put it in the embroidery machine and then it will stich out but then I would have to cut that out as a template to cut the applique. It seems like a waste of fabric and thread.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need something like embird or PE-Design to open the design and print it out as a template? Help???

Thank you!

You have to have something to unzip them. My son found a program on line that was free and downloaded it to my computer. I just unzip them and then save them to a floppy. My machine uses floppies, I don't have a USB. All you have to do is save it to your flashdrive after you unzip the file. Then you should be able to connect it to your machine. I can't look at the artistic views of my files without going into a special software that I purchased. Before I got the software I could look at the files through my machine only.

They should be able to give him something for the fever. I know when I took chemo they wanted me to take my temp everyday to make sure I wasn't running a temp.

Do you or does anyone know if "winzip" will do that for me? Sorry, the digitizing stuff is way over my head. I am registered to take the embroidery, hooping, and digitizing classes my dealer offers but they don't start until February. It will be April before I can take the class that will cover the digitizing, etc...

NaeNae - do you think they will keep him long? I know he can be transported by ambulance (no sirens or lights or anything) to Christiana for his radiation tomorrow - well, will they still do the radiation? I know they said sometimes chemo cant be done if something is too low???? Ugh - I work in a hospital and just dont know all this stuff!!!

Here is something a little touchy for me - i was looking ahead on my schedule, as you guys know I am an occupational therapist at duPont hospital for children where my nephew is being treated for a brain tumor/cancer. well, on my schedule next friday is a 2 year old with the same thing!!!! whew, how am i going to evaluate him without crying????

Matching Buzz Lightyear Bowling shirts. I am sorry this picture is so small. DH charged the camera battery the night before and we left it in the hotel room. He took this picture with his iphone and we have some on Photo pass that I didn't buy yet. I also took some pictures with a disposable camera I have.

I didn't finish everything I wanted to do for the trip. I had a Lightning McQueeen bowling shirt cut out but I didn't sew it together.

I wanted to make DD a retro style Minnie mouse Skort and appliqued shirt but didn't have enough time. I also have a Hannah Montana shirt cut out.

Jham - did you take the top to the store with you to pick out the fabric ? It is ultra perfect!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Cant wait to see it modeled!!!!:thumbsup2

I got my sewing machine today so I'm trying to work on several "half finished" projects. I finally hunted down the last piece of bias tape I needed. Three stores later and I'm done with Lily's Small World skirt. I'll eventually get her to model it. I need someone to make some bows for me now! I bought ribbon but I sit and look at it and think maybe not. Have I mentioned I love finding a shirt I like and then making a skirt to match it? :rotfl:

It probably will. Mine is CAM unzip. I just got my digitizing software for Christmas and I don't know how to do much of anything. I've taken one class but there is soooooo much to learn that I think I'm just going to have to keep going back and retaking the class and hopefully will learn something new each time.:confused3

I wanted to go back and compliment everyone on their stuff but I am afraid I will leave someone out. I just love everything that has been posted. This thread is very inspirational.

I am trying to keep all of you in my prayers. Misty, you have been in my thoughts all day. Wendy, I hope Daniel is okay. I will keep him in my prayers to. Heather, I hope your friend is healing and recovering.

They may keep him until they can figure out what is causing the fever. He probably will get antibiotics as a precaution. I don't know about the radiation, but my guess would be no. I know every time you go for chemo they take blood to check your counts. If your counts aren't within a certain range then they won't let you take chemo that day. You have to wait for them to come up. I know I went in one time and they told me my counts were too low and I couldn't take treatment that day. I told them I wanted to stay on schedule so they decided that I could take treatment that day but I would have to come in the next day for a shot of Nulasta. Nulasta helps keep your counts up. I had to take that shot after every treatment from then on. Once you start taking it you have to continue taking it. That one little bitty shot in the arm was $7,000 each time. I'm glad that he qualifies for assistance from the hospital. My chemo ran approximately $15,000, including the shot, every three weeks. Thankfully for me I had double insurance at the time. My husband was deployed to Kuwait for a year and I had kept my private insurance in addition to Tricare. I was out very little money.

I made my Wild Minnie dress for Becca's Big Give. She requested it. I was worried that the ruffles on the back would be uncomfortable sitting on all day, so I modified it so that it was just strips. I think it turned out pretty good that way. Plus, that's a lot easier than ruffles!

I like these sleeves a lot better than the ones Lydia picked out for hers!

Very cute Teresa, I'm sure Becca is going to love it!

I have a couple of rag quilt throws. We make them about 5 squares by 7 squares and cut the squares between 10 and 12". If you are using cotton on the front using flannel for the back and middle would be a good idea, that way it will fray better. The cotton does not fray as nicely as the flannel.

Thank you!

Very cute outfits! You did a fantastic job on your appliques. That Peter Pan one is one of my favorites!

Wendy, they did the same thing for my Dad. His blood count was taken everytime he had chemo. I have no idea what they will do for the radiation though. I know during his chemo my Dad was allowed to take tylenol, advil, aleve to help with his aches and pains but he never had radiation so I have no idea if that is different. And as far as the expense of it, it was crazy expensive. My parents had to fight with their insurance (they are self-insured) to get them to pay for it and even now are very careful with the records that are kept and how frequently my Dad has MRI's, CT and PET scans. If he was to go over 6 months without having his scans done and cancer was found again they wouldn't have to cover it. So needless to say, they always make sure he gets his scans well before the 6 month time frame.

Red Alert! Elusive Mickey swirl just posted on the trade thread!

Some of you may recall I used my newly purchased Cricut to re-do my daughter's room in Hannah Montana. I bought some of the room decals from Target and realized the free cartridge that came with my Cricut matched perfectly!

Here is a picture of the purchased decals:

I have bought the Photobook. It was really cute but I think you could make something just as nice by getting the CD and making a photobook on Kodakgallery, shutterfly, snapfish, etc. It won't have the Disney backgrounds but it would be way cheaper. JMO.
Oh good idea...thanks!!! I think I better get the CD!!! If I don't I won't have any pictures of me with the kids at WDW since my DH can not take a decent picture to save his life. lol

Hi Friends,

Prayers sent out to those tonight who need them for health (Jenny) and just life's unexpected times (Spongie)......whew....

Im not sure where to start - it has been a very up and down day today - JCAHO is at our hospital doing an inpection this week, and everyone is just on pins and needles all the time -so afraid of being asked a question I dont know the answer to!!!!!

Daniel - his follow up MRI done yesterday as a follow up from last week when they saw a "dark spot" where the tumor had been came back CLEAN!!!! YAY!!! We were concerned the tumor was growing back, but it was just blood from the surgery and it is gone!!! YAY!!! Anyway, he had his chemo and radiation today. I also found out they have a 50 dollar copay for EACH DR AND THERAPY VISIT!!!! UGH!!! BUT, since Daniel's dad was laid off right before Christmas, they will qualify for a special Nemours Grant from the hospital and it will all be covered 100%

This morning at work, my BFF and I got word that one of our dear friends that used to work with us before she moved out to Pittsburg to marry her true love and get married lost her baby. She is 29 years old - married about 2 years. The baby was very healthy, happy, cooing, rolling etc - went to bed last night with out anything differnt - she died of SIDS at 4 months old. They went to get her this morning and she was gone.......I just cant believe it,,,soooooooo sad.....our friend's mom called us to let us know what had happened. I was just facebooking with her on Sunday about snow and the baby and how happy they all were and how nice Jillian's first Christmas was.:sad1:

I feel so happy for Daniel and so sad for Jenn at the same time - - - thanks for listening.......
OH NOO....I am so sorry to hear about your friend's little baby girl. That is just heart-wrenching. I will be praying for their family. I am so sorry, that just breaks my heart.

I am so happy for Daniel and his family. I pray that he will continue to improve. Cancer is such a horrible thing to go through, bless his heart!!!

I have gotten both - I love my photobook - but I got it mostly since we didn't have LOADS of pictures so I put my fav's in there and now I have them to keep. The CD wasn't worth it to us since I liked less pictures than would make it fiscally wise. . . but with 300 pictures - I would probably get the CD. Plus you can do up those pictures with borders and signatures and whatnot, and easily double the amount of pictures on your CD :)
Good point on all the borders and signatures. Do you know how many pictures they will allow on the CD?

We did a Photobook last year after our trip... also got the CD. The book turned out beautifully. I would have done another one this year, but we only had about a dozen photopass pics this year and maybe 4 of them were good.... our two year old has decided that frowning is what you do when someone points a camera at you. We bought the couple of good ones. Someday we will show her how silly she was ;)

But I will say it took me awhile to put the book together online....with the help of a then 4 and 1 year old ;)
So, if you got just the CD you would have more time to decide just what you wanted? Good Luck.
I would love to do both but I think my DH would kill me. I think I better get the CD and then like you said, take my time to create a book later. Thanks so much!

I haven't purchased a Disney Photo Book but I would get the CD. I looked at the books to see if I wanted to prepurchase one but they really didn't have all that many page layout options. I would get the CD and do a book with Kodak or some other service.
I wish I had taken a peek at the Photo Books while I was there....oh well, I think I will just get the CD and make a book later. Thanks so much!!

I ended up ordering my photobook from Shutterfly. I guess if I had not preordered my CD in a share I might have gone ahead and done the book in the photopass site. I liked having all the pictures on CD though. It took me forever to put my book together. The best part was that at Christmas I was able to order one for us and one for my folks 1/2 which was a great Christmas present for them.
Thank you so much...do you know if you can use Disney clipart when you create a book on Shutterfly or anywhere else? I like the thought of making extra books!
I never did post them last April. You all inspired me to learn to sew and applique. I think I did ok for a first timer!

Here are the outfits I made DD for Disney World. I can't wait to get started for this trip.

Those are all soooo cute!

My nephew, Jamie, died of SIDS when he was 6 months old. My sister-in-law put him down for a nap and when she checked on him an hour later, he was gone. :sad1:
Heather, I am so sorry to hear about your nephew!! That is so sad and heartbreaking!!!

I would get the CD.
I think I will, thanks!

Finally uploaded pictures of the christmas dress I made for Hannah. Sorry that I am so late. Thank you to Jen for the bows. I was stunned at how beautiful they are!
I had some trouble with the smocked insert. I think it would have gone better had I redrafted the top of the pattern to be straight. I didn't think of that until I was too far in! it was really hard getting the seam allowance to lay correctly so it wouldn't make my top row of smocking look crooked. In the end I just gave up and let it be crooked. :headache:

That dress turned out really cute. Your DD is adorable!

Do the cd!
I will..thanks.

SPONGIEMOMMIE....I lost your quote but I wanted to say that I will be praying for you and your family. I am so sorry.

Doesn't someone's DH work at wal-mart?

Mine is thinking of responding to an IT ad for Bentonville.

That was mine! He no longer works there. Assuming that the IT job would be at the corporate office I am sure it is a whole different ballgame but let's just say I wouldn't wish working at walmart on anyone. I think it is alot different for hourly vs salary, but I always got sick when I saw the commercials come on saying "Walmart cares" (about family). They could have cared less.

The insurance was horrible compared to everyone else I know with kids (price wise monthly along with what was covered, which was practically nothing). And the hours were unbearable being salary. Hadn't seen my husband in years on a holiday (especially christmas) until this year. They were closed christmas day, but he always had to go in at midnight, after working until 8 or 9 christmas eve, thus had to try and sleep christmas day. Okay, sorry, I'll stop rambling.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Do you or does anyone know if "winzip" will do that for me? Sorry, the digitizing stuff is way over my head. I am registered to take the embroidery, hooping, and digitizing classes my dealer offers but they don't start until February. Wow! Love all the stuff you made!

Has anyone heard from mommyof3princess? She's been missing for a while!
Melissa, where are you???

I think she popped in towards the end of the other thread for a quick second.

Okay, I skipped quoting lots of pages but saw so much cute stuff! I can't remember all of it but really it was all adorable! Do you'll ever look back and think about how far we have all come!

Amy Clutterbug! WOW! Thanks for sharing all you made recently.
