It's strange, I'm still more excited about our WL stay one week from tomorrow, then the AKL stay in 4 days!. I guess I'll have to see if that changes after this trip.ONLY 15 more days until we are at WL?!?!?!?!?? Can you tell I'm a little excited?![]()
Kook We had a wonderful window table at CR and an o.k. server. It was just the food. My steak at GF Cafe (for 1 TS) was just as good as my steak at CG for 2TS. I just don't think it's worth 2TS. But that's me. I know many love it. I went to see what the hype was all about, and went there expecting to love it, but didn't. Narcoossees IMO is totally worth 2TS, but I'm sure some will disagree! I can see how you'd like to go before they close it.
We haven't been to Artist Point. But I heard you can order some things in the WL bar from Artist point, we may try this when we go. We decided to not get the DDP this visit! A trialThe first time we aren't on the DDP. Just with the regular DDP I'm always stuffed, and never have any room for snack credits, unless I use them for breakfast, and don't need a dessert after each meal, so we'll see how it goes!
I posted a link about this to the CR thread yesterday. It's post #905 located here:What??? Where is it said that California Grill is closing?
Was hoping someone could settle a debate between DH and I![]()
When we stayed at WL in 2008, we were in the south wing, farthest and highest courtyard room available. Very nice and quiet, but obviously FAR away from the lobby. And, of course, it took us two goobers a day before we realized we didn't have to go all the way to the lobby to get outside to the pool and the marina (seriously...goobers). Once we discovered the "secret" in/out door at the bottom of the stairwell just a few steps away, we were in heaven.
BUT, we disagree on how late it was available to get back in. I said that it had a key card lock for after hours that let you back in. DH says it was just locked to anyone coming in after a certain time, there was no keycard access, and we had to go the lobby route again. He says I'm confusing it with an entrance at our recent stay in the garden wing at CR.
Who's right?
There are keycard accessed doors from the cy for after hours, but I'm not sure about the exact one you talk about.
Brian
Well, we'll just say for posterity (i.e. so I get to winwinwin) that it must also include that door, right?![]()
Thanks!
OK! I am heading back to the WL again in less than a month! Really excited! Although its not my first choice, it is my second! Don't flame me! The Poly is my favorite but had to cut corners a bit! Thats ok! I still love the WL and its been a few since I have stayed here so we are excited!
It is just going to be a mother/daughter trip! And yes... we are both adults so we are going to have a "chill" Disney trip, if that is possible!
Anyway... wanted to say hello to all you WL lovers! I am there Feb 4-9!
Enjoy!!!![]()
A little nervous about staying at Wilderness Lodge. This is the first time we are staying Deluxe. We have stayed at Pop,Caribbean, Por and French Quarter.
Little background. We have not been to Disney for 5 years. After are last trip which was at Pop a year later my husband lost his job and didn't find work for 18 months. He has been in his job for 18 months but he is unable to take any vacation during the summer so we are taking the kids out of school in May and taking them back to the World. We want to do it right for them and make it a celebration for life getting better after a long time of it not being so great. We where trying to decide between Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom because of the bunk beds. Finally deciding on Wilderness Lodge because of it being closer to MK.
Will we regret deciding to stay here?
Brian, feared I'd miss your send off and you were already at AKL - so glad You're still here...if that makes sense.![]()
Can we expect a live update? You know we'll be on pins and needles waiting to hear your thoughts about AKL CL...and the Lodge in general. I'm so excited!!
Just in case you leave before I see you here (or on the RC thread) before you go - have a MAGICAL trip and take at least a couple of pics!
Safe travels!![]()
I think you're probably more nervous about not having been in a while and that this is your first Deluxe and that is totally understandable. You should be wrapped up - it's your vacation! If we don't hear from you , then we know you're having a great timeWe leave Wednesday morning. I'll try to post some while we are there. I have a tendency to get so wrapped up in everything that I forget!
Thanks for thinking of me. I'll definitely post upon our return!!
