We can only hope! I'd even take a deluxe room upgrade. :rotfl: I'll settle for a room with an open balcony.

I'm so busy getting little things done so I might not be around much the next few days.

Brian

Have a wonderful trip!!! Safe travels Brian :wizard:

Thanks! You all at the RC thread have totally lost me. :rotfl: I'll have to get back involved when I return and count how many changes you have made. :lmao:

Only one and a half days of work left! :woohoo:

It's what we do :lmao: Enjoy!!!

Brian - Have a safe and wonderful trip...here's hopeing some pixie dust :wizard:finds you during your trip

Since it is snowing right now in DC. The 75 degree temps will begin the pixie dust!!! :lmao:

The temps have been marvelous the past couple days, my trusty bag thermometer said 80 when I checked it. I would have preferred warmer temps when we did ft wilderness Segway tour, that was a chilly morning with frost on the ground!

Anyone have any info on the rehab / renovations that are supposed to be taking place soon ? Like where and or when they are starting , or any concept work? Very curious ... Thanks!

pixiedust::wave: Have a great trip Brian, and here's some pixie dust for that magical upgrade! And for me too!!!
See you at the airport :rotfl:

41 days!!!

WE have 3 days at WL...

we also have a 3 days pass to the parks......

what percentage of time woudl YOU spend in the resort??

It depends!

For me I like to take a mid day break back at the resort to swim or hot tub if we're planing on an evening park too. If we're just going to one park during the day, we're there for rope drop then would be ready to have a 5 ish dinner and hang out at resort for the evening.

But we're at WDW for at least a week for Jan visits, and at least 10 days during Aug visits.

Last I heard they were talking Mid-April for a start. Have not heard anything else.

In December, the CL Manager emailed me and I asked him for a rehab update. He said that it was now slated to begin after April 15, but remember, that's in WDW time, so who knows. I'll be there in 80 days so I'll ask about it again then and update you here.

If you've been to the parks many times, then I would spend more time at the resort. If you don't feel the need to do the parks "commando style" then I'd do one dedicated resort day. Otherwise, with just 3 days, I like the idea of morning/early afternoon in the park, then returning to WL and spending time there and a little at FW.

That's the latest I have.

Now, you and Sue M, get to packin'!

Oh no....I thought it was to begin in Febuary. I have no idea why, but I feel anxious for them to start. :upsidedow
The club level manager told me in August that he was told that the WL rehab would begin in February. Last month when I asked, he said that it had been pushed to after April 15th. It's very likely that may even change as WDW maintenance start dates are notoriously 'flexible';)

How long do refurbs normally take? Going in Dec and was really hoping the majority of the refurb would be done by then. I wonder do they work bottom up or top down?

In August, the CL Manger said that they anticipated it could take up to two years to complete and that one floor at a time would be blocked. He didn't know at that time which floor would be first, but I'm going to ask him about that in about 80 days when I return.

One last sleep then you'll be off to see the Mouse. Really hope you enjoy AKL - we were surprised at how much we really enjoyed it, but once was enough.;)

Safe travels! Know it is going to be a magical visit! :goodvibes

I just LOVE a resort refurb and am extra excited about the WL one because I was not crazy about the last one - never liked that blue/brown decor. Fingers crossed they go back to the warmer colors this time. :thumbsup2

We when go for 3 ngts we enjoy relaxed, unhurried mornings at the park, afternoon at the resort, a different park for an early evening, then back to the resort. Sometimes on a short trip, we'll go on to another park for lunch and the afternoon, then evening at the resort. We've been visiting for about 30 years, so our park visits are very relaxed. Have fun! :)

Sue M ~ safe travels to you too! Have a wonderful visit! :goodvibes

:goodvibes Well I have made a start to packing, have had the luggage out for 2 wks, lol! As I think of things, I throw them in. Will finish packing this weekend :thumbsup2 Driving down to Seattle Monday for our early morning 6AM flight Tues  But it lands us at MCO by 4:10 so worth it. We can go to MK that night, walk around, catch a ride or 2 and watch Wishes.

We are taking our very first WDW trip in April with our 2 DD's, they will be newly 3 and newly 6 yo. We are staying at the VWL thru David's DVC Rental. We booked the trip 2 weeks ago. We are suprising the girls!

Joining this thread to keep up on tips for the WL! Thanks so much for all of the valuable info I have found by perusing the thread.
Shanna:)
