This photo is for WDWKOOK. We were visiting the WL last night and sat out on the deck off the lobby in rocking chairs. This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places at WDW!

Will any Woods View rooms be refurbished by the time I arrive on June 9th? I'm wondering if I could request a refurbished room but I don't know if they will have any complete by then.

I have an AllEars WL/CL review posted here:

So excited to check in at the Wilderness Lodge tomorrow~ our first time there~ got a bunk bed room for me and DS 4!
Oh, you're going to have a great time - so cute that you got the bunk! Hope to hear from you soon:)

For those going and those that have been, quick question. I have a pin that currently will not work on my room selection, Woods View, but if I am willing to upgrade to either Club Level, or Club Level Honeymoon, it would only add $100-$200 to my trip respectively. Is it worth it? If so, do you still keep the dining plan with it, or since you have the lounge with food, you just do OOP for food?
I absolutely think you'll find CL at WL to be worth the money. We choose to use our Tables in Wonderland card for our TS meal in the late afternoon, and eat breakfast, appetizers and dessert in the lounge. Sometimes we eat a TS breakfast and/or a QS meal. We find that works better for us than the DDP. We found we didn't like the DDP after they took away the appetizer and tip inclusion. I'd prefer the option of dessert or an appetizer rather than just dessert.

Hello all! Looking at trying to stay at WL Feb. 2013 and I'm currently reading the entire thread, so I can absorb as much WL as I can. I'm only on page 45, so I have a ways to go, but I do have a question.

We're hoping to get AP for 2013, and in doing so hoping for an AP discount for late Jan, early Feb. Dh looked at the rooms at WL (it would just be me and him going) and he would like a Deluxe Room (this will be a chilled out relaxed vacation, so we plan on enjoying the room/resort). So, my question is do the Deluxe rooms every have a AP discount? Or is it usually just other rooms?

WDWKOOK - Thanks for an awesome thread, you make me so excited about trying out the WL! :woohoo:
You're welcome, Rorey! I've tried booking a Deluxe with both an AP and the military room only without success. One CM claimed she had seen it available, but it's never shown-up when I've tried. Std. club level, however has always been available for me.

I hope you're able to book with your AP:)

I am sure this has been answered and I am still wading my way thru this thread. Great, helpful info. This will be my 2nd trip to the WL. Last time we requested a specific room (cant remember what room number though) that was a courtyard view and we were in the South wing at the end of the hall and we could watch the Water Parade from our balcony.

This trip, we have reserved a courtyard view once again but my wife has said that she would like to not be so far from Roaring Forks as it was a hike from our room. From what I have read so far, I have gathered the following info and questions and would appreciate any help that could be given.

1. If I want to be closer to Roaring Fork, I should request to be in the North Wing, correct?
2. If I request to be in the North wing do I also need to specify that I want to have an inner courtyard view?
3. I understand that the 5th floor is generally a good request to make. Is that correct? I would prefer to be higher up.
4. Do I make a general request or request certain rooms?

Any other suggestions or corrections would be much appreciated.
Welcome to the thread! I think your question was already answered well. I'll just add that the 5th floor is a good request because it's the highest floor that does not have any enclosed balconies;)

Staying this summer at BCV (which I do love) but my heart is aching for WL....such an amazing hotel! I guess I could boat over for dinner, but not the same.....:(
Awww, I think a bounceback might be what you need:rolleyes1

Welcome to the WL thread :welcome:. You picked an awesome resort to try as the WL is a beautiful resort and you're going to love it. I can't answer about AP discounts with the Deluxe rooms as we've never had APs, but anytime I have priced the WL with a GP discount or PIN code, the deluxe rooms have never been available. I think there are only so many deluxe rooms (WDWKOOk would know how many there are ;)) and I think those are considered a type of suite and aren't discounted too often. That's not to say it's impossible, but it might not be easy getting one with a discount. A standard CL room is pretty easy (in my experience) to get with a discount, but the deluxe rooms are harder to come by discounted. With that said, AP discounts could be different than other discounts. Happy planning and enjoy reading the WL thread as it's filled with alot of great information, thanks to WDWKOOK :goodvibes.
You're so sweet. There are 25 Deluxe rooms. The reason there aren't 26 is because one of the rooms is used to store the CL Christmas decorations:santa:

Hey Kook!!!

Sooooo, I just read that the rehab will be done by end of Sept....if I am going in July, I should be able to get a new room, right???? Like, if I request a room in the North Wing??? Hmmmm....:rolleyes1
Howdy! By July, all North Wing rooms (near the MK/CR) should be completed.

WDWKook did you see a mock up of the new rooms when you were at WL or any other info you can share? Will the rooms be not as dark? DIS seems to be the only board that has reported the refurb. Others are saying it won't start for a while yet. Thoughts? We'ew all so excited!:cool1:
I posted a rehab update to the first page today - post #1. The new bedding and paint will be lighter. The flooring and bathroom tile will fit perfectly with the Wilderness LODGE theme;)

You've brought smiles to the faces of many tonight, JC. You're a gem - thank you:hug:. (Does this mean you're going over to the Resort Changer's thread now so you can switch to WL?).

YES! In theory, by July 6, all North Wing rooms should be completed and work will then start on the 7th floor of the South Wing. The Woods View rooms are in the North Wing, so put in your reservation a request for a rehabbed room:goodvibes

Darn it kook!!! You know this has been a battle for me....and it was easy to say we'll wait till next time because the refurb was originally slated to be done next year, but now!?!?! Ugh, I've been sooooo good....

Do not encourage her...;) And I have to add the GF seems a little less than peaceful these days....I definitely made a good change :goodvibes Off to read allears.....BTW any thoughts on Virginia Beach??? I know you are in NoVa...but I do want to stop on the way home...and I a not 100% on Myrtle, thought I'd pick your brain a bit.... :confused3

I will have to go check out your review on AllEars :goodvibes. I knew you would know the answer as to how many deluxe rooms there were :thumbsup2.

I know how you feel. We are booked for the CR in December, but the WL has always been our favorite during the holidays :santa:. I was thinking we'd wait until next year as well to go back to the WL, but I didn't realize we would be able to get a new room this year.....so the wheels are turning as to whether or not to keep the CR or cave and book WL CL :rolleyes1.

Kook did a fabulous review on allears...let's rename her The Lodge Temptress:goodvibes The more I see WL pics, the more I can't wait to be there :woohoo:

I just posted on the WL thread, I made way too many room requests and I feel bad....really connecting rooms for me and the kiddos is th most important...BUT DS wants a bunk bed, an I want a refurbbed room...whatever the WDW assigners give us will be fabulous, but I hope I didn't jinx myself by asking for too much :guilty:

I just read KOOK's AllEars review and I have to agree.....she did an awesome review ::yes::. I have to say, I like your suggested name for her :goodvibes. I, like KOOK, can't say enough good things about the WL.....it's just an overall fabulous resort :).

I wouldn't worry about making too many requests.....they will fulfill them all if they can ;). On our Poly stay a few years back, I made 3 requests in order of importance and the first 2 were granted upon check in, with them offering to fulfill the 3rd if we wanted to change rooms the next morning. We decided to stay put as it was just a matter of sticking with a quiet pool view rather than having a volcano pool view, but I thought how great it was that they were willing do that for us if we really wanted that other view. So sometimes all requests can be met :thumbsup2. I can't wait to read your review of the WL when you return as it's always nice reading about other people's stays :wizard:.

I can't wait to go!!! I have guilt, can't help it  I was so stuck on a monorail resort....but with the GF construction....oh well, and I changed my RPC reservation in Sept to CR....time to change a different trip I guess :rotfl:

I can see why you wouldn't want to stay at the GF now due to the construction. My favorite view from an RPC room is overlooking the beach pool with the Poly in the background :cloud9:.....which is now, of course, where the DVC construction is :(. We spent most of our time at the courtyard pool on our last GF stay as we didn't care much for the beach pool.....so the overall construction wouldn't really bother us if we stayed there again in the near future, but if we stayed RPC I'd want that beach/Poly view, but wouldn't want to sit on my balcony looking out at cranes :sad2:.

Will the CR be a first for you or have you stayed there before? We have a Tower TPV booked for December/January, but I have been considering upgrading to Atrium CL....but just not sure it's worth the extra money :confused3. I wish Disney didn't have so many choices to pick from because it makes choosing a resort too difficult for me :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I have gone through many changes in my head since I booked our CR trip quite a few months ago .....and although I'm not too crazy about the CR's atmosphere/decor, I've gotten to where I'm excited to try it......that is until KOOK kept posting pics of the WL and then did her WL CL review :rotfl2: (which, BTW, I did love reading, KOOK ::yes::....you just got me rethinking my CR choice again :rotfl:). But I'm not due to go until late December and you will be there in September, so I would love to hear all about CR CL from you :goodvibes. And come to think of it......weren't you supposed to give a Poly CL review in the near future :rolleyes1....JK.....I know it's hard to choose a resort, but it's easy to make changes ;).

Way too easy to change...............;)

I think KOOK has stayed CR Atrium CL.....I think she even did a review on it....I'm sure she'd be more than happy to tell about it :). I will say I've been spoiled with fabulous CL stays at the WL and GF, so I'm hesitant to book another CL as I'm always afraid it won't compare to the great CL experiences I've had in the past.

I know our Lodge Tempress much prefers OFC, she was less than impressed with Atrium Club not to put words in her mouth)...I am the same way, that was my hesitation with Poly CL...didn't want to be disappointed....AKL & YC were nice, but didn't wow me..

Now I have that little boy from the Incredibles in my head " Iam waiting for something amazing to happen" :lovestruc

Hey Everyone! We leave for the WL tomorrow! I can't believe it is finally here. Sooooo excited. Thank you to everyone on DIS and especially those who contributed to this thread. Although I don't post much, I do come here and read up a lot. Thanks again! You guys rock!

That's right, blame the messenger, Candace. It's MY fault that the rehab will be done in September. There, does that make you feel better? Just tell DH it's my fault;)

When we went to WDW for Christmas in 2010 (DH was deployed), I did a CR/WL split. I thought they were both perfect for Christmas, but we did stay only 3 nights at the CR and 8 at WL...

OK, I've been called many things, but Lodge Temptress? That has to beat them all:lmao:. You always bring a smile to my face, but I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry about that moniker. Makes it sound like I'm hangin' out in front of the arcade or by the marina a lot at night:sad2:

BTW, I've found the WL room assignors to be great. I've been granted my request every visit (we've had 5) and/or we've been upgraded, so don't worry about your multi request, just have it in the order of preference, like mickeynut1 mentioned.

I just read KOOK's AllEars review and I have to agree.....she did an awesome review ::yes::. I have to say, I like your suggested name for her :goodvibes. I, like KOOK, can't say enough good things about the WL.....it's just an overall fabulous resort :).

You know, come to think of it, we were given our exact longhouse/top floor request the two times we stayed at the Poly, too.

I had a Deluxe RPC room booked for a split this summer and canceled due to the construction view. I just couldn't bring myself to pay a premium for a non-premium view.

I love all the choices at WDW and I always think competition is a good thing. Choices make the planning fun! You all know how bad you feel when your resort or room type is unavailable:sad:.

This will be my first CR trip....but the reservation is young....you should upgrade and give me your CL thoughts ;)
I read this and thought, "The reservation is young, and so are we...":rotfl:

What reservation isn't young for you? Tell us all about those old, ancient reservations that you never changed:listen:

Yep, LOVE the CR, but I didn't love their club level. But, that was back in 12-10 so maybe it's better now? But, the lounge is pretty small, which hasn't changed. But, that view is amazing.

Nice to have you come out of lurkdom, Wiley Coyote. You'll have to visit with us more often. Will you be posting live to let us know how your stay is going? Have FUN:yay:
