I will ask when I'm there next month if they know what floor they will start first. I was told that they will close off the entire floor when it's being renovated, but that may have changed.

Hi Kook . Thanks for getting all of these updates :goodvibes. I thought I was set on the Poly for our July trip (if it goes as planned), but I have been contemplating switching to the WL instead :rolleyes1. We just love the resort and do miss it when we're not staying there.

Seeing WDWKOOK on many of the threads I frequent must have rubbed off on me. We had stayed at WL in October and while we LOVED the Lodge, we didn't love the rooms. And that was that... or so I thought.

We were just at the GF, which shares a bus with WL. On our way back from AK, the bus stopped at WL first. I said to my husband, "This is weird, but when we pulled into WL I thought, 'I wish we were staying here instead'," and he replied, "I was just thinking the same thing!!" I had gotten a bounceback email, so when we got back to the room we booked WL for our annual end-of-November trip for my son's birthday. :goodvibes

Unfortunately, no CL rooms were available with the bounceback. Are they really hard to get with a discount?

I know exactly how you feel. When we stayed at the GF, I missed the Poly....and the WL runs a close second to the Poly so needless to say, I miss that resort as well whenever we visit :(.

Keep trying for CL with your BB. For our December 2010 trip, I originally had WL CL booked (before I changed 100 times :rotfl:), so they do offer CL rooms with discounts/BB's. You can also try adding a day or two to the beginning and/or end of your trip to see if that triggers any availability. I've had to book extra days in the past to get the room type I wanted, and then I would cancel the days I didn't need. I don't know why Disney does that, but give it a try to see if that works ;).

You're too funny:rotfl:. I saw your post on the GF thread, but haven't replied yet. I feel the exact same way about GF. I get emotional about the CR when we aren't staying there and twice have switched to the CR from both YC/CL and Poly...mid-trip! So, I completely understand what you mean. I'm actually worried that this "feeling of longing" might happen to us on our summer trip. I have WL booked next month, but not in the summer. I'm afraid when I see it from the monorail or from a boat or pass by the entrance, I'll have that same feeling you had when your bus so RUDELY stopped there on your way back to the GF:rotfl:

I'm afraid that's going to happen to me with the Poly when we stay at the CR at the end of this year . I know we can always change resorts once we get there (which is something we've never done), but I'm hoping to really like the CR like I do the Poly and WL :goodvibes.

I just called today to switch our April reservation to the WL. I'm so excited but my Hubby is going to be even more excited when I tell him. He comes home SOON from his deployment and he has always wanted to stay at the WL. We went there 4 years ago for a Carriage Ride on our Anniversary and we both loved how awesome the resort was.

Congrats on booking the WL :yay:. It's a beautiful resort and I'm sure you will have a magical trip :wizard:.

Congratulations and welcome! We have a few things in common: My DH came back from AFG a year ago and his first trip back to WDW he just had to stay again at WL - his favorite. And, our now big DD was also a preemie, but nowhere near as early as yours. How very frightening that must have been for all of you.

It will be just wonderful having your DH back home soon. Please thank him from all of us for his service! Also, make sure that you note in your reservation that you are celebrating his return from deployment and your DD's first trip. Are you going to take another carriage ride?

We do have a bit in common! I'm glad that your hubby is home now. I hope he won't have to head back anytime soon. Yes, it was very scary at the time. She spent 95 days in the NICU and came home on oxygen for the first 3 months but now she is doing great medically and just has some developmental delays which is typical of preemies. She was 2pounds 1 ounce at birth. You know- I hadn't thought of another carriage ride...yet, lol. Do they do them all year long? Our Anniversary is in December so it did make for a chilly ride, lol.

Thank you!! I'm just in awe of the pics and will look at them daily until we go. 62 more days :cool1:

I think another carriage ride would be awesome!!! I'm not sure if they offer them all year long or not :confused3. We did the carriage ride on our December 2003 trip.....I remember it being quite cold, but I loved it :goodvibes. That is definitely something I need to keep in mind when we go at the end of this year ;).

I don't blame you for constantly looking at pics. The WL is just gorgeous and seeing all the beautiful pics just makes me wish I was there :cloud9:.

Hi All,
I'm new here (on the WL page). But after searching options all day and night I think for our next trip 2 WL rooms will give us the most room and will be the most economical.

Now I have 2 questions though I was hoping you could help me out with.
1. Can you get a adjoining rooms and if so can you do a bunk and reg adjoining rooms?

2. How do strollers work on the Magic Kingdom Boat? Do you have to fold them up do they let you keep them open. I am just worried about toting 2 small (just 2 and 3 mnths) back to the Hotel as the last trip Ds fell asleep every night as we were leaving, and had to wake him up to get on the bus to the YC.

Sorry have no idea about the rooms.

At WL there are 2 types of boats that run from WL to MK. A small open sided boat that you will have to fold up stroller for, and a larger boat that you can wheel strollers or wheelchairs onto.

You can definitely get adjoining rooms. As to the bunk and regular, I can't fully answer that question, but I can tell you that for our upcoming trip in August, we have adjoining rooms and have requested one bunk room and one regular. I wasn't immediately told that was impossible, so I think there's a decent chance you can get it. Since you can specifically reserve bunk beds on the non-CL floors, I suspect you can call them on the phone and find out specifically if they have that. Because we're on CL, even having the bunk beds is just a request for us, rather than a guarantee.

What a wonderful surprise you are giving him:cool1:. I am so happy for you both that he is coming home!!! Thank him for serving and keeping us safe :worship:.

I also saw you have a new little baby going too. The WL is a perfect hotel with little ones. Just don't forget your stroller. And depending on the amount of hair on her head at the magic kingdom Barber shop on Main street you can get baby's first hair cut there....I did it with my boys and it is one of my most precious memories! have a fantastic trip!!!:lovestruc

Thanks everyone for the tips on getting a CL room with a discount. I just called Disney & had them play around with our dates, and we were able to get a standard CL room with the bounceback! :goodvibes

We are considering making this a non-park trip (we'll only be there two nights). We were there for one night in October & didn't go to the parks, so we think it could work out. Any suggestions for things to do? I see carriage rides mentioned -- might be fun! It'll be me, my husband and our almost-7 son.

:yay:You're going to be very pleased with the Old Faithful Club.

There is lots to do next door at FW and also at the WL marina. We really liked the Archery Experience and the horseback riding is pleasant. But, if you're a seasoned rider, it's very lame. If you haven't ridden much or at all, it's a great way to experience it. Have you seen HDDR? That's always a hoot. You can also rent canoes at FW and they have pony rides for your little one.

You can also rent bikes at WL near the marina and ride them all over FW. The Cub's Den has free crafts in the afternoon and the arcade is fun, too. You can also take the boat over to CR and use their arcade. And, don't forget about the movies on the beach at WL and the poolside games in the afternoon. I don't think you'll be bored!

Tomorrow I will be walking into the Wilderness Lodge :cloud9:....

Somebody pinch me!

I am mostly packed, but I feel like I have so much more to do....what will be will be and if I forget it I will just buy it there :thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes- I plan on getting her first haircut there. I really need to get a move on it and call soon to make an appointment. I can't wait for that memory :goodvibes.

What a peaceful view :cloud9:. What room type is that taken from?
It was in my PB account, but I can't recall what room type it was taken from (I haven't stayed in the VWL). But I believe it would have been taken from this VWL building. One side looks out at the VWL pool/courtyard area, and the other looks out at the marina, bike rental and woods area. I took this from the trail that goes to/from FW near the bike rental:

I see. I thought maybe it was taken from a WL room. Don't some WL rooms overlook the VWL pool? I just love the WL/VWL surroundings.....they are just so preaceful :goodvibes.

Hi Everyone! I know you guys are always so good on making sure everyone knows how much we love WL and Disney in general! I can't believe our trip is coming up so fast, we have had this planned since we officially booked it in Sept.

I do have a few questions for anyone willing to help us out.....

First, has anyone ordered groceries for delivery to WL? We are scheduled to land at Orlando around 9pm, or even 9:30pm. We probably wouldn't be checked in until after 10pm...I'm pretty sure of that. Of course it is on a Sunday. I guess I would have to check into the online grocery stores and if they even deliver on Sundays. Does anyone have any experience with Sunday and/or late night arrivals? Should I call the resort directly to let them know?

I was just catching up and I didn't see you get an answer here. We were able to have groceries delivered to WL from gardengrocer and I believe it was on a Sunday. As long as you book in advance you can choose any day, but they do book all the slots on some days and will close that day to further reservations. I would imagine you could arrange to have the groceries delivered to the bell stand and left for you. I am sure we never saw the delivery person, even though we were checked in. My cell didn't ring and they left a message that our groceries were with the bell hops. The bellman brought them up when we called.
Of course, you could ask if they could deliver early in the morning on your 1st morning there, but that might make you out of luck for breakfast.

This year we are thinking about trying the WL:dance3: We have stayed at POFQ and the POLY. My computer is very slow and it would take days to go through this thread. So if my questions have already been asked, please forgive me.
1) I already know once you check in you can use the facilites at the resort even if your room is not ready and check out you can use the same facilities for that day. My question, "Is there a changing area if yo want to use the pool?"
2) What is the highest floor for a woods view room? I did read to ask for a room away from the main lobby.

Thank yo and have a Magical Day:wizard:
