Birthday Party at the lodge for Deena party:

Question on airline check in at WL.:confused3 When we were at POP in August they printed our boarding passes and put them under our door. All that I had to do was take the luggage to the check in line at the front of POP. It took all of five minutes :cool1: Does WL do the same for guests or what is the procedure?

Wow... a welcome party :dance3: How did you know I was lurking?? :confused3

I'm pretty pumped. Did I make the right choice?? HM Suite instead of regular CL? I've seen pictures... just wondering if anyone had opinions!

We're finally checking out Artist Point, and I finally will try the Raisin Bread French Toast for breakfast at WCC!!

Happy to be here!! :cheer2:

I can't help specifically at WL, but at both GF and YC the airline check in took the luggage and printed our Boarding Passes. Easy Peasy. Just note its hours of operation, so if you have a later flight you don't miss the opportunity.

I think you need a jacuzzi

but if you need to save a few bucks...you can always do just regular CL and request a King...either way NO FULL BED FOR YOU AND DH :woohoo:

Has anyone heard anything about the WL villa 1 bedroom getting the chair that turns into a bed so that it can sleep 5? When I was booking my last trip I told the CM how sad I was that it would be my last trip to WL for a while because our youngest is turning 3 later this year and we will be a family of 5. She said they were talking about adding the chairs that turn into a sleeper like AKV and BLT so that it could sleep 5. My youngest actually sleeps on a toddler aerobed and I know we would easily fit into a 1 bedroom now, but I am not a rule breaker and the policy is 4 plus one under 3. I am just not up to paying for a 2 bedroom or 2 rooms when he does not even sleep in a bed. I hope they do add the chair but I assume it would not be until the next renovation which I would assume would be a while since they were renovating the villas when I was there3 years ago. Anyone else heard anything about this?

:confused3

We are headed to the WL at the end of August this year. I won the OMDD sweepstakes and it's our first choice. This will be the first WL stay for my kids and only their second trip to WDW! We fortunately were just there last August for their first trip. I know they would love to be the flag family one morning. I just started to read about this recently so don't know too much. Any tips are appreciated please.

Congratulations on the win! :goodvibes I'm sure you are going to love staying at WL, it's our favorite. I'm going to be there in just a few weeks & I can hardly wait!

Thanks! My mom and I love it it! We've stayed there five times already. It will be like a coming home :cool1: My son wished into the geyser that our next trip we would stay there and then I won! :thumbsup2

Happy to have you here:goodvibes

I've read mixed reviews about the HMS. The room is the exact same size as a regular room, but with the addition of the jacuzzi tub and guaranteed king bed. With only four of them, they're hard to snag, but there's a 50% chance you might not get a room facing toward the MK. The other two rooms face toward FW/VWL. Personally, if the jacuzzi isn't a must, I might skip it and save the money, but I would absolutely book CL and request a king. There are two hot tubs at WL and one at VWL you could use.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but hopefully someone else will:)

:banana: Congrats on winning. What is OMDD sweepstakes?

To be Flag Family ask when you check in. We got the morning before our last day. It's a fun experience, and the views up on the roof are fantastic.

Hi, I haven't posted much since our trip last Aug(which was amazing CL CMS are the BEST!!) because I didn't think we could afford a trip this year & well, why make myself crazy withw lurking :sad1: if we weren't going? :upsidedow But, I think I can swing a short trip :yay: in Sept. I keep pricing out all the mods & keep coming back to WL. :confused3 We have only stayed there. DH & DD just love the boat for that quick trip to MK. But, maybe we could try POFQ?? Has anyone stayed there after WL? The savings could be nice but, I am not sure of the complaining I would have to endure from the 2 of them;)
Still hoping & waiting for a pin or promo:surfweb: Thanx for any input!!

There is really not room in the 1BR at VWL for the sleeping chair like there is at THV, OKW, AkV and BLT, so I would not expect them to be added

It is funny if you are staying in a 1BR on DVC points or with a cash reservation through DVC (you have to be a member to make these reservations), you can sleep 5 of any age, you just have to provide your own bedding. Lots of DVC members bring an air matress.

Maybe if would be worth looking into a small amount of DVC resale points, so you can book through DVC. You could do a few days points and a few days DVC cash which as long as the room is available has a 25% discount. You can pick up a contract for 25 to 50 points for 2-3 thousand $ at OKW or VWL if you are patient

Thanks for the information. The sweepstakes is the One More Disney Day. It runs until 2/29 and there is a winner everyday! :cool1: Go to the Disney.com site and enter. There is a whole thread on winners in the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies. :surfweb:

I was able to tell my hubby via Skype today about me switching our vaca to the WL. It was PRICELESS!! He is soooo excited :lovestruc.

I love split stays, but you should try to put your favorite resort last. So maybe you could do POFQ and then WL? Let us know what you end up booking!

So glad you didn't lose your signal and were able to tell him the good news! I know you can't wait for him to come home and he can't wait to see you and his DD. Will he be on leave or will he be all done with his deployment?

Just got home from my vacation :sad1:....

We stayed for 2 nights at the WL before transferring to BWV. My son was in love with WL and did not like the BWV at all and kept asking to go back to the "lincoln log" hotel :thumbsup2.

When I first booked I asked for a room close to transportation and an inner courtyard (which I paid for). We were not upgraded but had a spectacular view and room (3107). I did online checkin and when we got there everything was ready for us. CM's were wonderful. DH asked the CM where the gift shop was as he had a splitting head ache and needed tylenol. She went and got a first aid kit and gave him some at the desk which was a wonderful touch :thumbsup2.

While we staying at WL we decided to go to Ft. Wilderness for the Chip and Dale campfire. We were chosen to be the family of the day and got a personal meet and greet with Chip and Dale and my boys got to hold their hand and walk out with them to the crowd. Was pixie dust sprinkled on my family that day!!!pixiedust:

We met other family at the BWV and it was just as nice(Well the CM's were not as helpful), my heart definitely belongs to WL and villas. WE own at AKV which I love but we will be trying to get more stays at VWL for sure!!!!It is such an amazing hotel with impeccable service!!!

Welcome home! How old is your son? I'm just wondering if perhaps he enjoys the MK more than Epcot, and that was one of the reasons he liked WL better:confused3

The campfire at FW sounds like it was a very memorable experience for everyone. I bet you have some cute photos from that.

We have a BWI/WL split coming up soon, but I made sure we stayed at WL longer than BWI and did it last - just to be sure we end on a high note;)

Lol, I love the lincoln log hotel quote! It sounds like you had a great time.

It was a great moment! Even though it was late for him (almost midnight) and he was tired he stayed on the computer to "research." Thankfully this will be the end of this deployment. This is his fourth year long deployment over the last 8 years so I'm ready for him to come home and hopefully stay home for a couple of years.

My boys are 5 and 6. They both actually love Epcot but I think the BW was just too lively for them right now. The WL is just so peaceful and I think they loved taking the boat to MK. Maybe the BW will be better when he is 15;)....He does like the BCV though. I think the split stay was just too much for him. Live and learn no switching next time :)

The Campfire was a wonderful memory and I highly recommend it for everyone!!!:thumbsup2
