Just got off the phone with WL CL, seems they just had a meeting today to push the construction crews, so they should finish CL on the 12th, they can start checking people in on the 13th, so if we want CL WL we can have it and have a bunk bed refurb room overlooking either the pool or the woods with a chance to maybe catch fireworks..if we want CR CL we can have that also. My husband and I are yelling with joy, the boys still want CR CL..

The saga continues, my husband is home looking over pics and everything with the boys now..

Hi There!!

It's fate!!!! You were meant to stay there this trip!!! :dance3:

I would just tell the boys that CR is a boat ride away for a nice visit! :goodvibes

That is exactly what I told them, I know that everybody wants the CR, but I think because it lacks a "theme" it really does nothing for me and I really am not into the "modern" look of things. I think it was fate, I was going to WDWKOOK's suggestion and stay one or two nights at CR and see if then we could change to WL CL. Andrew said there is only 2 families checking in on the 13th and there will be only 2 families on club level for the 13th..

You should tell the boys that when they are footing the bill, they can choose the resort. :thumbsup2

You had your heart set on WL CL....think of the nice homey feeling lodge and lounge...pixiedust:

No offense, but the pics of CR CL make me think the walls were covered in aluminum foil. :lmao:

I remember reading about your dilemma when I was catching up on this thread a few days ago. It sounds to me that in your heart, you really want to be at the WL, but your boys are enticed by the idea of having their own space. Since you are struggling with recanting on the choice you let your boys make, what about offering a trade, so to speak. For example, a day at a waterpark or DisneyQuest in exchange for the WL stay. Remind them that they really will only use that extra space at the CR for a limited amount of time each day. Additionally, compare pools and ask them what pool they would prefer to hangout at, show them the trails that are available for bike rides between the WL and FW, etc. Or if it is in the budget, maybe let them choose a specialty cruise or rent a jet ski or similar watercraft rental for a few hours one day.

Best of luck to you. I don't know if I could ever relinquish that kind of control over to anyone, husband or daughter, if my heart was really set at staying somewhere specific.

@mousemommy1 you are so smart..you are right, they would have never even known there was a CR if we hadn't been told we had to move..LOL

I like theme's at disney, to me CR CL has no theme..my son is a boy scout and that is why he liked the WL to begin with..

Let us know what you decide!!!!!! :goodvibes

I am so happy to be at WL, so glad it worked out, bigger room and CL, best of both worlds.

Hope to meet you also

We're staying in a deluxe room next January. I think it might just spoil us a bit.

Well THAT is a perfect outcome! I would LOVE to be able to stay in a deluxe room. Enjoy!:cool1:

I know this is going to be a stupid question, but what makes a deluxe room a deluxe room? I can't seem to find anything about what makes it different....

It's also called a Junior Suite - the deluxe hotels that have Deluxe rooms offer a larger room than standard, with Club Level benefits. From pics it looks like WL Deluxe rooms are 2 separate rooms (separated by French doors) - the Deluxe rooms at BWI, CR (might be called something else) & BC are just one larger room, but not separate. I'd sooooooo love to stay in one at WL!!!

I, personally, have never understood the appeal of the CR, other than location. Maybe because it was an original? We've always been a Poly family until this trip, our first time to see the Christmas decorations. WL just seems like a better choice.

I stayed in WL Deluxe room last week. There is a master bedroom with 2 queen beds and a sitting room that has a couch with a pull out bed. The rooms are separated by French doors. If you look on page 213 of this thread you could see some pictures that I posted. To the right of the wet bar are the French doors. The pull out couch is across from the chairs in the sitting room. I stayed in a deluxe room at BWI in the past and those are just one big room with a separate sitting area that has a pull out couch bed.

That's not a stupid question at all. I'll just add to previous helpful responses that on the first page of this thread, at the end of the first post, I have an aerial map showing the location of the 25 Deluxe rooms and a full description and links to both pre-rehab photos from May and rehab photos from a few days ago.

One disadvantage to some is that Deluxe rooms are often not located on the club level floor. The exception is that BWI has 5 Deluxe rooms on the CL floor and 5 that are not. WL, YC and BC Deluxe rooms also come with CL access, but none are located on the CL floor. The CR and GF ('Lodge Tower' rooms) also have Deluxe rooms, but they do not come with CL access. The CR's Deluxe room is located in the Garden Wing. The AKL and Poly do not have any Deluxe rooms.

A few more observations:

We did the resort 1 hour architectural tour our first morning. I highly recommend it. It has heightened our experience walking around the resort, noticing the fine details. We have no CL experience, but for those who do, the tour is conducted by Jack, a long time CL employee. Anybody know him? He did a great job.

It turns out our room is exactly 2 floors down from the much coveted 7060. We can't see the castle through the trees but we still had a great view of the fireworks last night. Quite a treat for standard view. Thanks for the room request tip kook of high room in the north wing.

Oh and yes the smoke house makes me hungry every time I step out on the balcony, even within an hour of having eaten.
