It is so weird to see Garak and Gek over here on the WL boards since we are all cruising together. Hello Garak and Gek

I have moved our reservations for our second part of our stay to WL from POR RR and am both excited and nervous. When I was making the change, I asked the person if I could request a renovated room, but she said that WL was not doing a renovation and that request could not be made. :confused3 Also, we will be arriving on a Saturday which has me a bit worried that since I can't request ahead of time, all the renovated rooms will be gone. Is it possible to change rooms the next day after we have already been there a day? I think we will have a better chance of getting a newer room if we move on the Sunday since people will be leaving that day. I can't do online checkin since we will be on the DCL cruise and will have not access to internet (well at least no access to not crazy expensive internet) so I am not sure what to do? I am not worried for me but my mom and dad are coming with us (both in their 80's) and I want them to have a lovely room. They are both first timers to WDW and this will most likely be their last. (We are both booked courtyard view if this makes a difference)

Any advice would be great!!

Here are some photos of Rehabbed Deluxe Room 5000. We stay there last week. Nice view of Bay Lake with a partial view of Electric Water Pageant and Wishes. A bit noisy because of boat dock and geyser but we loved it

Thank You so much for sharing :goodvibes I am seriously thinking about staying here this Christmas :woohoo: The Deluxe Room looks FAB:dance3: Actually i think i would prefer "The Lodge" @ Christmas instead of The Grand Floridan:)
Decision's Decison's :)

Thank you rea59 - those are exactly the pics I was waiting to see!!

Feeling kind of let down that we are not staying on CL WL, was so looking forward to it and trying to get myself back into the excitement of disney :(

12 more days!!!!.
I think I'm gonna burst!!!!:dance3:
I KNOW you are!!

Tonight we step into a WL room for the first time. :yay: I wonder if I can keep it a surprise until ME pulls up to the resort?
Are you there yet? Are you there yet? Are you there yet?:hyper:

WOOHOO! So it's an add-on, but still very exciting. I remember reading through this thread when I was first considering adding on, but life got in the way (as it does) and some time has passed. And I have the memory of a stick. :rotfl:

Is there any particular view that anyone likes to request at the villas? I remember seeing one view that had a view of the pool with Bay Lake in the background?

All advice welcome! :)
:welcome: to the thread, VWL add-on Kathymford!

Me too  And as soon as I wrote I don't wanna change, and said the dreaded "I am good with our trip to DH" I am waffling....and I don't know why....it's gonna be a long month :upsidedow
:cheer2: Enjoy!!!! Safe travels!

:dance3::yay::cool1::woohoo::dance3:
I know what happens to you when you get waffleitis, I shouldn't even look on the RC thread because I have this sneaking suspicion you're not booked at WL anymore:confused:

Welcome to WL from POR! Why doesn't it surprise me that they're still telling guests there isn't any WL rehab scheduled? You can and should absolutely request a rehabbed room if you'd like one. It doesn't even matter whether the CM you speak to knows anything about your request. The important thing is that the WL room assignor DOES know and will see your request IF it is in your reservation.

Don't worry at all about not doing online check-in. You can't put a room request like that into your OCI anyway. Just ask at check-in if you have a rehabbed room and if for some reason you don't, ask if there is one available. Also, make sure the requests are also in your parent's reservation and also make sure it's noted that it's your parents first visit.

You and your parents are going to love WL. Make sure you show them the great rocking chairs in front of the fireplace and all the cozy sofas and chairs everywhere. Maybe they would like to take the free Lodge tour?

Feeling kind of let down that we are not staying on CL WL, was so looking forward to it and trying to get myself back into the excitement of disney :(

Not to make you feel worse but when I saw your post my heart sunk because I knew we were traveling approximately the same dates and I did not want my ressies changed!!! But, of the choices you had, I think you made a great one....the CR MK view will be amazing!!! :goodvibes

But doesn't being given TWO CR TOWER CLUB TPV ROOMS make-up for not having ONE WL CL ROOM:confused3. You can still visit WL and eat there and do some recreational activities.

@mousemommy1 I was wondering when they called me if you also got the call. I am very disappointed and my husband and I said when we got the call that we would basically let the boys decide, but I am just afraid I will be disappointed with CR CL, some of the things said on the board have made me very nervous and we wanted this to be such a special trip..I am having alot of anxiety over CR, it really isn't my type of hotel at all, the look, etc. I hope we are not disappointed, but my heart was really set on the WL CL

IPO said that my dates are not affected at this time....soooooo, I am hoping that it stays that way. On-line check in is on Thursday though, so I would imagine I would hear something before then. I am just keeping my fingers crossed. CR is not my style either, and I really have no desire to stay there...but I would have chosen it in your situation!!! I don't think you can go wrong with that view andClub level. Have you looked at any of the pics of a TPV room??? That should totally put a smile on your face! :goodvibes

Since there's availability at WL/CL one day after your arrival, why don't you just call and ask to stay in a non-CL room your arrival night and then you can stay the rest of your vacation in a CL room. They might think you're crazy for giving up two Tower Club rooms, but if you don't want to stay there then why not call and ask. The only issue I see is that you let your sons make the decision and now they don't want to stay at WL?

The thing that attracted me to WL was the "theme" etc. CR doesn't seem to have a theme to me, my husband and I were just talking about that this afternoon. I love that we are getting two rooms and very thankful, but when your heart has been set on something that you were really looking forward to it is hard to change gears to something you would not have picked.

But, I thought you said that they offered you a $900 credit if you wanted to stay at WL? Why don't you call the WDTC and see if you can get one room-only reservation for the first night for a non-CL/WL room (or keep your CR reservation for one night), then move over to a WL CL room for the remainder of your stay?

This is a great idea...you could just take the woods view room and then move up to the CL after that....

And I get it....people want you to be all happy about the "upgrade" however, if you wanted the CR you would have booked it instead of WL. But, I do think that you will still be happy at CR....you can walk to Magic Kingdom!!! :woohoo:

If it means that much though, I would take Kook's suggestion and call to see if the above scenario is feasible. :thumbsup2

Yes WDWKOOK with your help I figured out how to post photos. Thanks for all the work you do to make this thread such a great source of information. I'm glad I made the switch from BWI to WL.

Historically speaking, are the Room Only discounts at WL that come out usually comparable to or lower than the other deluxe resorts? I am holding out for this discount but know I may be waiting a few months until that happens. It was mentioned in another thread that WL seem to have fewer/lower room only discounts (I am not sure as compared to what...) because Disney doesn't have trouble filling the WL rooms. Having never stayed WL before, I have never noticed a differences in the offers in the past.

I so appreciate WDWKook and Mousemommy1 ideas, however, the boys are excited for CR CL and I am excited they are so excited and I guess I need to look at this as a reason I need to come back to Disney in the near future or maybe a bounceback offer for WL CL right

I think KOOK's suggestion is great, although I do think you will be happy with the 2 TPV CL rooms at CR once you are there. Personally I would be ecstatic if I was given such an awesome upgrade. WL CL will be there for your next trip

Just unpacked, going to bed now. We are all very happy to have received a renovated room. We are on the 5th floor overlooking a utility style parking lot and trees. I can see part of CR over the trees.

Son was shocked. We were able to keep the secret until resort check in. Lousy to go right to bed with so much exploring to do. Oh well, it will make tomorrow even better.
