Doesn't sound like it. We have those things planned too, and a sleigh ride.

As Patty posted, the concrete path that starts near VWL/bus stop is open. Only the sandy path through the woods that starts behind the Teton boat and bike rental is closed. Bikers, Segways and most pedestrians use the paved path.

Only the fruit cobbler changes nightly. They always have Magic Bars, apples and bananas, brownies and cookies. Lemon bars were added this summer:

It's a secret.

Had the most incredible trip! I just want to turn around and go back! We stayed club level and the CM's were all super helpful. We did stay in a deluxe room, so we weren't on the 7th floor. We did feel far away from the action, but we have 5 kids and it was the only room that fit us. Next time, we will go for 2 regular adjoining club level rooms. Got to start saving!!

I'm hoping to go at the end of January 2016. I need something to look forward too and that way I can slowly pay off the trip.

The construction and pool closure was a little depressing. So was the great tease of what looks to be an amazing splash pad! We did get a $50 credit for the day the pool closed down (that was december 4) and we ended up going to the Contemporary for marshmallow roasting and a night swim in their pool. My kids missed the WL marshmallow roasting, which they loved to catch after a day at the parks. We ended up swimming at the Contemporary twice, it was quite the trek, but we did it!

Thanks to everyone on this board. I checked out the Poly and the Contemporary and I can't imagine staying anywhere but the WL. Thanks for welcoming me onto the board. Officially Obsessed!!

Thank you for posting a little TR. I think the two connecting CL rooms sounds better with 5 kids. You'd have two bathrooms and be right on the 7th floor and you could even request bunks. Happy planning and let us know when you're booked.

Update for today ........
Lots of construction workers working on the splash pad .........and some without shoes and socks !!! Water is running in the splash pad and they are doing some testing. Havent seen the bucket filll yet, but here is water running around the base, and down the slides . Shouldn't be long now.
They are planting a medium size tree next to the splash pad area right now.

Pool is closed again, with filtration equipt in the pool . Hot tubs are still closed .

Hopefully they will get this all sorted out soon !

The menus are a bit different from when I was there in October but there's pretty much the same items on the menus but they did add some things. And some items changed around to different days. When I arrived on Tuesday, they had pulled pork sandwiches (I LOVE pulled pork so I remember ) but the menu says they're on Sunday. They was also a chicken pot pot and butternut squash which aren't on the current menus.

They also had a new s'mores dessert that's really good! There were also lemon bars, magic bars, strawberry and peach cobbler, apple cobbler, berry cobbler, sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies in the evening. There were never any brownies (I LOVE brownies so I was looking for them )


By the way, I just wanted to say how much I LOVE this thread! I stayed at the WL CL for the first time and this thread really helped me in choosing to stay at the WL. The food was SOOOOO good and the CMs were the nicest out of all the resorts I've stayed at. They were just incredible.

Thanks for the food update! I know when I have stayed at other CL resorts that sometimes things change. The chef at poly told me he tries to change his menu every 8 months

This is such welcome news!! Now just waiting on the hot tubs and I will be a very happy camper!! Looking forward to the updates today!! 3 days and counting, we are absolutely busting at seams with anticipation!!

We awoke at 3a and our plane landed at MCO 9:15a. Kenny from Florida tours recognized us from last year. We stopped for coffee and at Publix for orange blossom honey. Arrived WL at 10:30a and were escorted to the 7th floor. An hour later, we were in our room. We have a view of tree tops and blue sky. I think we're facing away from the inner courtyard. The concierge CM said WL was at, and had been, 100% b/c Poly has been @ 1/3 occupancy.

I don't care if lines are long, I don't care if people are crabby, or busses crowded. We could be in Milwaukee!

Hi All:

Here now at the villas - checked in this AM around 11. Been running ever since touring the monorail loop resorts so just got back. Here are a few pics, sorry they are poor quality just from my iphone. I'll try and get some better pictures tomorrow. Bottom line is the place looks great to me. They are very close to finished. Splash pad is done they are just testing it, saw a few life guards out there and thought they might open it today, gotta be soon.

The fencing is well done and it fits into the theme nicely. The "wood" railing section as the water enters the pool from the stream is tilted at a weird angle but it looks pretty good non the less. Access to the hots tubs is going to be a little odd, you'll have to enter via the splash pad I guess.

Trout pass bar is really nice, updated with tables on a patio area.

The scaffolding is in place in the courtyard and looks like it will be there for some time. Not ideal but it's not that big of an intrusion.

Everything else is magnificent as always. I know I am biased but still, loving my Lodge!
