Yep as of Testing in May I now avoid Pineapples Strawberries Wheat Oats Rye Buckwheat Dairy Egg Pretty much allergic to 98% of breakfast items (I think I narrowed it down to bacon and apples :rotfl: that are safe) and even the things that I can tolerate in small amounts I have to pick and choose so that if I want GF bread with dinner or lunch, which has trace amounts of egg I can't have GF toast for breakfast. (can substitue GF sometimes but the GF items can tend to have buckwheat as their main filler so I have to watch that as well). So I have some go to items but at least 2 of them require a microwave and it'd be so much easier not to have to cart stuff down to the food court then back up. It's a pain and I'm still new enough that I'm learning the tricks of substitutions. However it has made me more adventurous as I am a picky eater normally but if I want to eat I've had to try new things.

By the way, all of your allergies other than strawberries are common to those with gluten allergies. Gets to a point where the body can't differentiate between gluten and certain other foods. The other common one is night shades (potatoes, tomatoes, etc).. Joel actually doesn't do great with the ones you listed as well as nightshades, but for the trip, we pared it down to his main three and are living on the edge. Gonna take months to undo the damage, but he elected to do it anyway.

Yeah I do fine with most things it's mainly breakfast that's a challenge. Eggs are in pretty much everything breakfast wise. Last trip I was only avoiding eggs and wheat and was pretty much out of luck at breakfast. I could still eat breakfast bars but because of oats and buckwheat those are now out.

They are pretty sure I'm not gluten intolerant as I can eat barley, but buckwheat is the kicker as it's the most common grain substitute in GF food and I do react to it. If I could convince myself that my dislike of pancakes and waffles (and syrup) was all in my head I'd probably be okay with namaste but I actually just really dislike them. If the can make me waffles I am going to try them, maybe. Lol.

It'll all be good. This is just my first trip this restricted, and not worrying about breakfast will be good. And I understand the eating on the edge. Sometimes I take a chance and just live with the results but I try not to very often.

We just checked in tonight and are waiting for our luggage so we can get some much needed shut eye. Had to share that we are in room 5123 which is the same one kook was in a few months back. It's cleaner than she encountered but thr armoire still stinks and I don't think the windows have been cleaned yet. Otherwise a great first impression of the lodge. Now come on luggage...

Is there any view of Wishes from the ferry returning to WL?

If so, is it a good view, or just ok? And do they have music to go with it? (I am guessing not...)

Also -- do they still alternate between a launch and a cruiser (one of which I will need to fold my stroller for, right?)

Lastly, I think I had read here but can't find confirmation of it now, but is there a dedicated launch b/t WL and CR to use the pool? Is there a changing area at CR if we want to go straight there from MK to swim?

Thanks!

There are two size boats that make the trip between WL and MK, the large ones where the stroller rolls on and the smaller ones where you would have to fold it. The smaller boats are the same as the ones that do the loop between WL, CR, and Fort Wilderness. Usually there are two of these running in opposite directions so you can get a direct WL to CR boat if you wait, otherwise you can hop on the first boat and it will either be direct or it will go via Fort Wilderness which adds about 10 min.
The wishes view can be great from the boat, but usually you won't be on it long enough to catch the whole show, and there is no music.

Have a fantastic time! I just looked at your pre-trip report. Wow, your wife is amazing. I love the Elsa dress for your little one. She really did a wonderful job on it.

I also saw your magic bands. I love to decorate mine too. I saw that you did something with painting on a plastic bag? How does that work? How do you adhere it to your band?

Thanks, I think she's amazing too. ;)

For the bag painting trick, we painted some topcoat onto a plastic bag and let it dry. Then we painted or applied a temporary tattoo for the design, then the whole thing peels off of the bag. To stick it to the band we paint a bit of the top coat on the band and then lay the peeled off image on top of it. Then we paint a later of too coat over the whole thing. We'll see how they work this week.

Ahh. Cool. So this is with nail polish or paint? Great idea.

We did nail polish, paint, and tattoos between the different bands. All seemed to work on the topcoat base. The topcoat just makes a nice flexible base to paint on, and can be thrown away if it doesn't turn out how you want before you mess up the band.

Got in last night and the construction isn't a problem at all... We have a courtyard view but see more of the stream so don't really notice too much. Just the walls, but either than that its great here and MNSSHP last night was awesome!! Relatively slow, got to ride all the main rides with minimal wait (Mine Train 2 times!), great views to see the parade and hallo-wishes (which was terrific), and lots of candy! Not so Scary was the only even I have yet to do and even though were still over a month out from halloween, I enjoyed it a ton. Took a run to Ft. Wilderness on the trails and now just get to spend the day checking out and exploring the resort!!

Thank you!! :goodvibes

Checked in yesterday morning. Have a beautiful courtyard view, even with the construction. Not hard to get around the resort at all :) It is noisy during the day but not unbearable - if you have nappers you might want a fan or white noise machine :) Been to MK, HS, and Epcot so far and crowds are low! Loving the WL!

It is so great to hear about both of your positive experiences. WL is an awesome resort. Enjoy your trips!

Having a blast at WL, we have a great court yard view. We get to watch construction and see bay lake and the geyser. Actually really neat to see them work on pool area. The kiddie pool is no longer there haha.

Here is a quick video update of the ongoing construction and the noise (this is my first photo/video post so hopefully this works). All the work so far is on what I believe was the kids pool. The regular pool is still filled with water.

The construction is definitely loud, but not as bad in the room as I envisioned. We're on the 5th floor in a deluxe club level room overlooking the courtyard and pool area. My daughter is napping now and so far so good. The bedroom seems quieter than the living room area.

Hi to all the other dis-ers here!

Thanks for the video. Doesn't seem awful that high up.
