We r leaving tomorrow'!!!!!! Fingers crossed the jackhammering involves just Jack and no actual hammering ; ) Otherwise nap time could get quite interesting.

Thank you all for your advice on the room request. We are staying at the lodge Oct 2 - Oct 9. I haven't had a chance yet to call to add the request to my reservation. I did originally add a request when I booked the trip, but I will call back to make sure the request is still on there.

Am I correct that the only option when doing the online check in was to request a high floor? I did not see an area where I could type any other special request.

Thanks again!
Stacie

The online check in options are:

ground floor
second floor
fourth floor
fifth floor
sixth floor
highest floor
near elevator

you can pick two

You should be alright if they give you woods view or the villas courtyard view.

Good luck and have a great trip. :thumbsup2

I was doing the online check in so that I could answer the options question, and this popped up when I finished:

Online Check-In Service
Congratulations!

Your online check-in is complete. Your reservation has Streamlined Check-in, just show your ID at the designated location in the resort lobby. Look for the logo. If your room is not ready upon your arrival, we will send you a notification to xxxxxxxxx as soon as your room is ready.

The xxxxxxxxx is my cell phone number. There is a logo posted, but I can't copy it here.

I sure hope that I like the room location I get and that the MB opens the door. :goodvibes

We did well doing online checkin after we had the connecting room request noted in our reservation. I don't see much disadvantage to online checkin since you can always go to the front desk if you don't like the rooms you were given, and the room locations are likely assigned ahead of time either way. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks to you and Kook for the info! Hope it works out!;)

Just a few pictures of the stream, waterfall, and a bit of the construction...hope the all come across okay!

THANKS FOR THE PHOTOS!!!

We were going to head over to WL for a CS dinner the first night we arrive, since we will be likely too late to really do much else. Last year we went to Yellowstone NP, and stayed in the Old Faithful Inn. Since WL was inspired by the Old Faithful Inn, we really wanted to see it. (I completely loved the Old Faithful Inn!). But with the construction, I didn't know what to expect.

You photos told me all I needed to know about the impact. Thanks!

Hey nothing popped up in Search and I can't remember,

Didn't someone ask recently about Microwave requests?

I can survive without one but it would help as breakfast menus are the least safe for me at Disney (or anywhere actually).

Just couldn't remember if anyone had gotten one before.

Yes we did but they did ask if it was for medical reasons. We said no but got one anyway.

I guess I got the old one. It's the WL building. Very un-Disney, which is why I like it. It's also a neutral color. I like this bear but the color choices are awful.

I like the old ones better too. But I got the new ones too (the polo). The grey and green color scheme on the polos are nice.

Do you have allergies? Tell them if that's the case.

Also, FYI, we didn't ask until we checked in and realized they didn't come in the room (first time at Disney since I was 18).

Yep as of Testing in May I now avoid

Pineapples
Strawberries
Wheat
Oats
Rye
Buckwheat
Dairy
Egg

Pretty much allergic to 98% of breakfast items (I think I narrowed it down to bacon and apples :rotfl: that are safe) and even the things that I can tolerate in small amounts I have to pick and choose so that if I want GF bread with dinner or lunch, which has trace amounts of egg I can't have GF toast for breakfast. (can substitue GF sometimes but the GF items can tend to have buckwheat as their main filler so I have to watch that as well). So I have some go to items but at least 2 of them require a microwave and it'd be so much easier not to have to cart stuff down to the food court then back up.

It's a pain and I'm still new enough that I'm learning the tricks of substitutions. However it has made me more adventurous as I am a picky eater normally but if I want to eat I've had to try new things.

I agree. I liked the image of the lodge. Ah well. Guess this means I need to buy more WL clothing, which I'm sure was DW goal. ;)

I'm sure they will accommodate you.

Would someone staying there now please share the current BB offer? I thought it was free dining, but read in another thread today that it may be 35% off Deluxe rooms.

The room only discount doesn't usually come out until later (late Oct/Nov)..right now I think it's only free dining but I'm not there.

None of those should be a big problem for them here. My middle son is allergic to gluten, oats, and corn. Everywhere we have gone, they have been amazingly happy to accommodate his needs. The restaurants here have access to Namaste mixes, which are pretty dang good. Chefs will come out every time to speak with you and will even make special dishes in clean areas to accommodate your needs. They have Enjoy Life products, which cover most allergies and Rice Dream ice cream. Even the concierge lounge is awesome--they stopped Joel from eating some fresh potato chips I had stupidly assumed were okay--turns out they were cooked in corn oil. They made a fresh batch just for him that tasted awesome. They are all very sweet about it. As far as I know, none of these mixes have buckwheat or gluten and can be made without eggs or dairy. Make sure you note allergies on any reservations you make. If you walk into a place and don't see any allergy free products you can eat, ask them and they will either have someone come talk to you, or they will produce a book of ingredients for you to look over.

We have discovered that Joel is allergic to something unknown here, though. Nasty hive like bumps appeared on his hand today. Some kind of contact allergy, I think, but who knows what to.
