Alright question for you all! We're staying here in February. Debating whether to get the park hopper tickets or just MYW ones. We didn't really use the park hopper at all last time but now that we'll be so close to Epcot I'm wondering if we would! Thoughts?

We got to Epcot several evenings per trip, because it is so close, and so pretty at night. So for us, I would never dream of not having a hopper. I know it's not for everyone though.

We also spend a lot of evening hopping into Epcot! The dinner selections are so much better than the options at the Boardwalk! We love staying at the Boardwalk.... however for dinner we love going into Epcot... it's so convenient!

Another vote for park hoppers when staying at Epcot area resorts! We usually have a dinner ADR in Epcot every night, and on departure day, we can grab CS from World Showcase if we don't have time for a TS. The ability to hop over to Epcot for meals is one of my favorite things about BWI and the Epcot area resorts!

Thanks! I figured that would be the case. Last time we stayed at All Star so we went to a park, and came back. Also I thought we might end up going over to Epcot to get on the monorail to MK. Is that the fastest way or no?

I made my room requests online last year and followed up with a phone call before check in. That worked for me!
I am requesting the quiet pool view for our stay in October. It is closer to DHS and transportation plus I like the view better!

Awesome. Thank you for the feedback!:)

Not the fastest way, but can be fun if you have plenty of time and under certain circumstances! The monorail route requires quite a lot of time, because you need to walk through Epcot, take the monorail to the TTC and then transfer to another monorail to get to MK.

So in the morning before rope drop, we always hop on a bus direct to MK (even with hoppers, Epcot rarely opens early enough for us to get through the International Gateway, walk through Epcot and monorail to MK.)

On the other hand, we've walked through Epcot and taken the monorail to MK a couple times in the later afternoon or evening. It's fun to walk around World Showcase and stop for a pre-dinner drink and/or snack and then hop on the monorail. Just need to leave plenty of travel time.

We've also taken the bus direct to MK in the morning, then monorailed to Epcot for a late lunch ADR at Epcot, then walked back BWI/BC/YC for an afternoon break.

I have a question about the crafts at community hall. They are doing the Mickey tie dyes the day we are arriving. When we went to Vero Beach, we had to sign up at least a day in advance for that. Do we have to do the same here? We aren't planning on doing any parks this day so it would be perfect to keep the kids busy while we unpack etc. Thanks!

I will find out for you today if at all possible. We are going to the pool this afternoon and I will go to Community Hall.

Just ate a multigrain croissant on the waterfront from Boardwalk Bakery. My view.

Just switched to BWI for the Princess Half Marathon weekend next year!!! Our dates are Feb. 20-23. :cheer2:

We initially booked Poly because the monorail transportation to the race would have been great, but bailed due to construction issues. A couple weeks ago, I posted that we'd stick with Poly even with construction, but now that it looks like the volcano pool might be down beginning in January, we'll be safe and come back to BWI. In the end, I think BWI CL will be a great fit, even though I'm a little uncertain about race transportation.

I'm there too! Nice to "see" a fellow Princess runner :cool1:

They really shouldn't have given any parking lot rooms to anyone with a preferred view. That should be standard all the way. You could request a pool or canal view, which is basically what the preferred views are. For the studio, you could request Village Green, which is the area above the Wyland gallery. That whole area is Preferred studios only, and gives a partial BW view from the side of the balconies. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know about the preferred studios over Village Green- that is exactly the sort of suggestion I was looking for. Thanks so much!! :goodvibes

When we stay at resorts that are THIS close to the Parks, we do a Hopper. We will spend however long at a Park and then come back in the evening or late afternoon and just bounce on over to the Park near us. Last November we probably spent time in MK EVERY day even thought we hit DHS 2x, Epcot 1x and AK 1x. This time we will prob hit either DHS OR EPCOT each night.

Hello all! I am usually found on the AKL board but will be down for a weekend with some former disney brides as one is pregnant and we are having a shower. We are in a 1bd room ..what are the views? TIA

Stimpy:

The Cast Member at Community Hall said they always have tshirts available for tye dye when they have the event, even if you aren't signed up in advance. So come and they will set you up.

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it :)

Yay!!! Is this your first Princess Half Marathon? Which BWI category did you book? Are you bringing your family along?

It *IS* my first Disney run! What about you?
I'm booked for pool/garden view, and it'll just be me - traveling solo!

Hold the line...we might need WDWKOOK to use her magical disappearing ink. I think we might be moving over to BLT for pre-cruise now. :confused3
