We are staying at the boardwalk for the first time in November. We have a standard room reserved. Should I be making any requests for a type of room? Since I have never been I am not sure if just getting the standard room is a good idea or what? Should I be request a certain view or to be close to an area of the hotel? I know this is kind of cryptic but just wondering. Thanks for any help.

5th Floor, Epcot Views are spectacular!
1st Floor, near the Quiet Pool can be very relaxing, and several walking paths (outside) that lead back to the 2nd floor lobby, rather than the long hallways.

We check in the afternoon of the 8th so maybe we'll see you. We're in CL & one DS will have his 13th birthday pin on (he will probably sleep in it he will be so excited about it!) DS16 will have his head buried in the new iPhone he bought, it comes on Wednesday lol!!

How are you coping with the heat & humidity? I'm dreading it!

It's hot and humid, but the rain each afternoon brings relief. We spent this morning at TL so no problem with heat here! Just take it easy and stay hydrated. A hot day at WDW is better than not being at WDW!

OK, there are 5 Deluxe Club Rooms on the 3rd & the 4th Floors.
The stairs are the quickest way from the 3rd floor to walk up to the lounge.
But, yes, you can opt to walk all the way down to the elevators to ride up & down, just be warned it is a long walk.
Get your 4th floor request in early for you best 50/50 chance of getting the 4th floor.

Crazy Hakim Thank You so very much for the information! Will Definately take your advise and call right away to put my request in. :)

WDWKOOK, sorry to have to say this, but you're going to have to remove us from the guest list on page one.

Actually, it's not the end of the world. When the room-only discount rolled out this week, we found that BWI was not included for our dates. We're addicted to the Epcot Resort Loop, and the only resort with availability for our dates was YC. And with the discount, we were able to upgrade to a lagoon-view room at YC and get about $300 back. It was a no-brainer. We love BWI and we will without a doubt be back....it's our favorite resort, but on this trip, the numbers spoke loudly.

Mildly sad that we're not going to be at BWI, but don't cry for us, I think we'll live with a LV room at YC. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a no brainer! Enjoy the YC and the quick walk over to the BW. The $300 can pay for a dinner for four at Flying Fish. :)

More of our waitlist came through, we are now staying at BWV January 18-21, 2014 Should we request a certain room location, we will have our double stroller and doing Epcot and HS during this timeframe.

Does anyone know if there are places to stand/sit and see fireworks from BWV? I am assuming we won't be able to see them from our room, so I am wondering if there is anywhere on the grounds or close by that we could get a good view.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

You can see some of the higher ones from Illuminations from the bridge that crosses over to Epcot. But you'll get the best view by being in Epcot.

Joining in!.....

We'll be at BWV in a garden view studio Sept 11-16th.
Just DH and I, sans kids, but with another couple.
Looking forward to an adults only trip, including Friday the 13th at the Villains event at DHS!

Last time here we had a Boardwalk view - I'm soooo gonna miss it. Those Village Green rooms look perfect though!

So excited its August, that means we're going to WDW and the BW this month! Granted its the end of the month, but the countdown is on!:thumbsup2

We had a water view room and could see the high bursts of Wishes over YC and they could also be seen from the Boardwalk.

Rooms with a Garden view facing Epcot can see the higher ones from IllumiNations and.....

As pp mentioned the bridge between BW and BC is a good place to view IllumiNations if you do not want to go to Epcot.

We will be staying at the BW in January 2014 for the marathon in a 1-bed villa & then switching over to a studio once the race is done to save money..

We rented/reserved through David's Vacation Club rentals this year (which I haven't done before, only through DVC owners), and was wondering if anyone has any experience with room requests/view requests through this company? I got a vague e-mail explaining it to me but I still found it confusing. :confused3 Any advice?

Thanks!! :)

There are basically three views...standard, preferred and boardwalk. The preferred and boardwalk views are the same pointwise. You have to ask for that boardwalk view when booking.
The standard views are of the front of the building area. Preferred gets you views of the pools, gardens, and waterways. Boardwalk view is along the actual boardwalk.
You have already been given a view catagory..probably preferred view. You can request to be on a certain floor/level or close to elevators or the bus stop, but that isn't going to be a for sure type thing.

Greetings! Please add us to the Boardwalk Bulletin: Staying 1/30-2/1/14 pre-cruise in BWV Studio-Garden/Pool View.

We are renting points and are super excited to stay at BW. It has been one of our dream resorts! We have two younger children, ages 8 and 5 at time of travel. We will arrive on Thursday morning and do one full day at the parks Friday before boarding the Disney Fantasy on Saturday.

We are planning to do DTD and check out the Boardwalk area on Thursday. At the end of January, will they have much of the BW entertainment/vendors up and running? I am worried about that.

Any tips on what type of room view/area to request? I've read every page of this forum, but I am still confused about that...:rolleyes1

Yes, we got preferred view for both. I was just confused because when we rented from AKV, we were able to request a specific view/savannah. When we rented for BWV last January, I didn't make a request and we ended up with a great view. I didn't know if I should/could request a certain pool/view this year so that we get something similar-- we were overlooking the quiet DVC pool. I don't necessarily need to be there again, I've just seen horror stories of people paying for "preferred" but then still getting a view of the parking lot- I do not want that to happen!!:scared1: We really enjoy sitting on our balcony and relaxing, so was trying to ease a bit of my nerves

Congratulations on your trip!

We stayed at the BW last January from the 11th-18th and all of the entertainment & vendors were out for the entirety of our stay- magicians and everything. While I know those aren't the exact dates you are asking about, I think it's safe to assume they will be there for yours! :goodvibes

My past few posts have been similar to yours regarding the room view request. I will be interested to see how others respond.

Does anyone know the square footage of the BWI Deluxe Club Level Rooms? I've seen different #'s on different websites & I'm just curious..
Thx!

David is merely a broker, matching up people who want a reservation with a member who wants to sell a reservation. So any requests that you have (like quiet pool versus Luna Park) can be made through the member you purchased your reservation from. They own your reservation, not David.

Hi! Excited to say we have just upgraded ourselves from POR to Boardwalk for Nov 17 - 23! :cool1: I will be stalking here to gain lots of knowledge from you all!!:wave2::coffee:
