I seen a picture of the Bakery on a Live Trip Report. The trip reporter said that the arcade was closed down and there were bricks piled up in front of the arcade. They were also putting up those construction walls. So I would think that they will be adding some kind of seating inside the Bakery. But I'm just speculating really...

Oh, I would love it so much if they would turn the Bakery in a real CS restaurant!!

This is the link to the pictures of the Temporary Bakery and the start of the construction on the Bakery. :goodvibes

I guess the trip reporter wasn't the one that I read that the arcade was closed from... I think I just put the two things together from someone else reporting that the arcade was closed.

Oooh lots of blocks and a big sledge hammer, there's lots of work going on to make it lovely for us all :thumbsup2:goodvibes

We are staying CL standard view in April. When I made the ressie I asked that if possible could they note we wanted a boardwalk view. Looking at my conformation there are no notes stating my request. Would that be visable on the conformation or should I assume they noted it. If not should I call back? TIA

I would contact IPO. (actually that is what I did to request the 4th floor instead of the 3rd floor)

What's the general consensus here about preferred pool/garden 1 bedroom villas at boardwalk? Is the price of $420/night reasonable? For $317 a night we could stay in a standard view studio instead.

We are staying 6 nights in April a Sat-Fri and one night at the swan on friday (because it's free from starwood credit card sign up bonus points)

We'd be renting points at $11 a point for the 1 bedroom and booking directly through Disney for the standard studio room.

There's only two of us, but we do love the idea of having the washer/dryer, kitchen, and the extra space.

Also, what view should we request if we go with pool/garden?

Cash standard view is the same as preferred pool/garden points view. So you basically have either one of the two pools or the Village Green area.

But like Missy said, if you haven't booked that DVC points stay for April yet, you might be out of luck.

If you can get the 1BR for April, my personal opinion is that it is "worth" the extra money. However, worth is very relative depending on income, how often you vacation, etc. That extra $100 can pay for breakfast and lunch for two people. But, we are DVC members, and just for the two of us, we love having the 1BRs. It really makes the stay about the Resort just as much (or more than) as about the parks. Makes for a much more relaxing trip for us. Also keep in mind you won't have daily housekeeping for the rented DVC stay.

So happy to announce that we will be staying at the BWI for the first time at the end of May! This will be our first stay there and I've tried to read all that I can, but still seem to have a couple of questions.

1. Do most of the rooms have daybeds? What are my chances of securing a standard room w/ a daybed if that's my only request?

2. When facing the resort (looking at the port cochere), are the rooms to the left and the villas to the right? I'm so confused about this. When I look at the map, it seems that the villas are on the left by the main pool, but when I read comments---it seems the opposite is true.

Any help would be extra appreciated!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi!!!

I apologize because I know this has been discussed here but I have not easily turned up, what is the exact type of coffee maker currently in the Boardwalk VILLAs? And anyone have a picture of it and the type of pod that goes in? I want to make sure we bring the right type of pods for our coffee!!

THANKS so much in advance!

Woke up today to a few inches of fresh snow here in Mass. Ugggh. But then I realized that 50 days from now, I will be checking into the BWI to a wonderful garden suite! There will be no snow, just sunshine, green trees, and beautiful flowers everywhere. Tonight is party night in celebration of this milestone.:cool1:

I'm in the same neck of the woods as you and I leave on saturday! I can't wait.

Came home yesterday from or first BW CL. Had a great, The weather, employees and resort couldn't have been nicer!

The villas all still have the Mr Coffee style coffee maker. They provide at least one packet of prefiltered coffee on each service day. Otherwise, you will need your own basket style filters and coffee (plus creamer, sugar or sweetener).
