What's the easiest/fastest route to walk from BWI to Hollywood studios? Thanks!
Go behind the pool to the walkway:

Thank you! Do you know if there is a map of the inn side that has room #'s so we can try to figure out an area to request? We are traveling with family and requested rooms next to each other. Would love a view facing Epcot.

You're welcome.

I'm staying club level deluxe. Is there any room request I should make? I know there aren't very many of those rooms, so I didn't know if it makes much difference.

Wow your good! Lol. I read a couple of reviews that mentioned room 5304 and that it was in a great location. What area of the blue section is 5304 in? It doesn't look like there are too many spots that could have a bad view.

It would seem that if you request a room on the 5th floor you wouldn't be too far from the lobby. Is that right?

What about stairs? Is there a way to take stairs at a different part of the hotel and end up outside?

Just an FYI...

We stayed recently I can't remember the room #... I think it was #4086.. It was the first room where the bldg takes an angle..(Basically where the Purple turns into the blue) We were facing the front of the bldg, almost directly across from the Bus stops... To answer your question..

We had stairs directly across the hall from us...Maybe 8 steps, This we would take to go to the main pool which it was soo close to. We also exited our room & made a right turn going towards the elevator to go to the boardwalk...We also made a left out of our room and went down the hall down those stairs & across street to Bus stop. And lastly directly across from us was the other hallway leading to staircases down to the path for our walk over to Hollywood Studios.

Ideal spot for a standard if you ask me....Perfect..:thumbsup2 H.T.H.

The big difference is the 3rd floor rooms have bigger balconies, but the fourth floor rooms are closer to the club lounge, since the lounge is on the fourth floor. We had the center room on 4 over Seashore Sweets and loved it. Enjoy!

We have stayed at BWI twice and BWV once. So I know the general layout. This trip my #1 priority is being close to the elevators. I have a bad knee and I'll be doing enough walking to not want to tackle flights of stairs when we return from the parks. The view doesn't matter as much to me but I do want to be able to get to the Boardwalk itself easily. Will I have a better chance of getting my request by booking a preferred room vs. standard? I've looked at the map and see there *are* standard rooms near the elevators but there are a whole lot more that are far away. TIA!
We booked a standard room at BWI, requested a room near the elevators due to mobility issues (two family members have bad knees with decreased mobility).

We were granted a 5th floor room about 4 doors from the elevator. Our elevator spit us out right next to the Belle Vue lounge.

Call and have your reservations LINKED. Not just noted that you are traveling together (unless you don't want to be side by side).

We linked our ressie with my BFF at CBR in 2010 and they gave us connecting rooms. All we requested was the same village.

Oh good info! I will call today, thanks!

I have bad knees also in fact doing stairs is out for me, plus I need to use a scooter when at WDW. Our first stay at was BWI was in WV HA King room 3269 and while close to the elevators in November we styed in standard HA King room 3229 which was perfect, right around the corner from the elevators I flight down to the lobby and Belle Vue Lounge and the elevator to the Boardwalk. The view was of the walkway leading from the bus path nothing great but ok plus it was quieter than the WV.

Yes there are no exits out on the Boardwalk side. There are however, several exits out the back side of the resort, at least on the villas side

Isn't there one exit to the Boardwalk past Big River, by where the DVC models are? (In the blue section)

Thanks. I don't really have a preference of balcony size vs lounge proximity, so I'll skip the requests and just leave it to fate.

What's the general consensus here about preferred pool/garden 1 bedroom villas at boardwalk? Is the price of $420/night reasonable? For $317 a night we could stay in a standard view studio instead.

We are staying 6 nights in April a Sat-Fri and one night at the swan on friday (because it's free from starwood credit card sign up bonus points)

We'd be renting points at $11 a point for the 1 bedroom and booking directly through Disney for the standard studio room.

There's only two of us, but we do love the idea of having the washer/dryer, kitchen, and the extra space.

Also, what view should we request if we go with pool/garden?

Are you talking about this April? Availability might be an issue this close to arrival.

From MouseSavers:

Stormalong Bay Kiddie Pool Slide (Yacht & Beach Club Resort) closed 2/1/13-2/12/13 for refurbishment.

Are they putting a seating area in the Boardwalk Bakery?
I don't know. In this description from wdwmagic it doesn't mention it:

The Boardwalk Bakery will be closing for an extensive refurbishment in 2013.

Closing on January 6, 2013, the Bakery will be be fitted with an all new entrance, new queue, and expanded menu offering soups, salads and sandwiches alongside the baked goods. Also to be added is a refillable mug station. The bakery is expected to reopen again on April 27 2013.

During the work a temporary location will be available on the Boardwalk opposite the bakery, offering a limited selection of baked goods.
