Hi everyone! I was referred to this thread because dh and I think we want to stay at the BWV for the first time in September. We are normally BLT and CR junkies so BWV is a whole new nut for us! :) we love the proximity to Epcot and really I don't think there could be a bad view here from the pics I've seen early in the thread. I do have a question though. I don't see an Epcot view category in my point charts and was wondering if it is possible to request one? If we are hoping for an epcot view, should we do a boardwalk view or a courtyard view? Thank you in advance. This thread has already taught me loads and I'm so happy I found it!

From what I know about the room categories for Boardwalk Villas and seen in pictures, you can see Spaceship Earth from their rooms if you were to reserve the Boardwalk view.

That is correct. It rises up over the Beach Club. It really looks nice at night.

I thought I had a picture, but nothing uploaded, so I cheated and found this.

Thanks CR resort fan 4 life and gometros! This is what I thought but couldn't position the resort to Epcot in my head. :)

Because of some of the buildings being inset from the adjacent buildings, it looks like there could be a few (not many) boardwalk view rooms that would be blocked from seeing Epcot, but would have a great view of the BC/YC, lighthouse, etc., but in general you would have a very good chance of seeing Spaceship Earth like in that pic. On the DVC point chart, it's the boardwalk/preferred category, but they are separate booking categories, not just a request.

questions please regarding the boardwalk area. we want to vist and stroll. Me and my DD17. How much time do you think we should allow? Is it worth visiting during the day or much more enjoyable in the evening? How far a walk is it from HS and Epcot? (looking at making ADR's). Any insight is very helpful. THanks

Much more enjoyable in the evening when the entertainers are out. Overall it's probably 20-25 mins from DHS to BW, and 15-20 mins from BW to Epcot, and then how much time you want to spend at the BW depends on how many entertainers you want to see, how long you shop, etc. Enjoy!

Hello!:goodvibes
We will be arriving in WDW on February 29 and staying through March 6. We will be staying on a standard, club level room at the BWI! We are so excited. We were originally supposed to stay at the Poly, but we wanted to extend our stay and the Poly was not available with our discount code. So, it's off the the BWI! My family cannot wait, BWI is our favorite resort.
We will be traveling over DD's 21st birthday. Do any of you have any tips on something special we could do for her? She is a Disney fanatic and I am so excited that we will be in WDW over her birthday!
Thanks!!

21st birthday means one thing to me. Legal alcohol! :) Maybe Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance? Or even the sangria from the pizza window drinking out on the Boardwalk? Or a beer at the Brewery place (Big River Grille)? Have a great trip!

Thanks for the suggestions!
My daughter is excited to have her first legal drink in WDW. The sangria sounds great...we really enjoy the pizza window for a quick bite to eat.

The best adult beverage I had last week was the Very Berry Blueberry Martini at Raglan Road, combined with the entertainment, it was one of the best nights of our trip.

So would you say those who stay at BWV with the Boardwalk/Preferred Room category are lucky if they got a view of Epcot, because they are really paying for the view of the Boardwalk.

I think the best example is those who reserve the Standard View Room on the BWI side and they could end up with a view of the France Pavilion in World Showcase and seeing Illuminations or they could end up with a view of the driveway that leads to the Boardwalk main entrance.

Yes, I am sure they would. When I stayed club-level at Polynesian, they did it for me.
I wanted buy some mugs, my husband saw on a previous trip. I sent them an email with my request , called gave them my credit card I wanted purchase billed to. I was happy and husband was surprised.

Good Luck and Have fun!

To me it's a matter of percentages. I would guesstimate about 80-90% of the Boardwalk rooms on the Villa side can see part of Epcot, so it would be UNLUCKY not to. But you're right, it's not classified as a theme park view in any way, it is just an added bonus.

To hopefully not add more confusion, when booking with DVC points, the Boardwalk/Preferred View category is the same number of points, but booked separately. Boardwalk bookings are guaranteed on the boardwalk, and obviously those book up before the Preferred. The Preferred views include the evil clown pool (some people may NOT prefer that, ha), and the water views along the waterway to DHS. In some of those views you can see the Tower of Terror from what people have said.

Ps -- I love the pool, kidding about the evil part...I hope.

Thank you everyone so much for explaining the different views and for using the point chart terms. Dh is usually the one who calls member services to make the initial ressie and keeps tracks if booking dates while I do research on views. We have left exactly the number of points needed for a week in a boardwalk view so I think we will do that. I'm not overly picky and will be happy with any view as long as it doesn't include a dumpster or parking lot! Lol :)

This thread has been so helpful! I'm really excited, hopefully we will be able to get a ressie at 7 months out for September!

I've been doing lots of back reading, thanks so much for this very informative thread!
I picked up the phone today and booked us for the Boardwalk in Oct. Very excited. :yay:

Congratulations on getting to stay there and I hope you have a great time.

Also just wondering did you reserve Boardwalk Inn or Boardwalk Villas?

What you said reminded me of this. If someone was to reserve the Standard View Room on the Boardwalk Inn side and ended up with the driveway/main entrance view, it's possible they could also see Tower of Terror from their room. I saw a video on YouTube of someone who had one of those rooms and on their balcony when they zoomed in, they were able see the Tower of Terror.

Hi, newbie here! Just wanted to say I love BWI!! Going back "home" to our BWI CL in 92 days! This will be our 4th stay and I'm just as excited as if it were the first.

Just wanted to say I really love the info thread. WDWKOOK you have done an amazing job. :thumbsup2 Love all the pics and the wealth of information.

It's always great returning to a place you enjoy and I feel the exact same way about BWI CL as you do. Their Cast Members are like a 2nd family for me, so it's great when I get to see them.
