I'm glad you found your way over from the WL thread:goodvibes. I hope you let us know how you liked your BWV stay.

That means you're there NOW! Hope you're having a fantastic vacation.

 savannahcat! I'm glad you like the new thread and I hope you'll let us know how you liked your stay. June is just around the corner:)

What did you eat at Kouzzina? Did you try the new skillet? Did you book a Bounceback? Thank you for posting your TR here:thumbsup2

If Her Royal Highness approved the latest change to BWI, then all is good:goodvibes. I guess you won't be boating over to WL though since you're staying a night at VWL? What BWI room type did you book?

I'm not certain, but I believe that the only two Deluxe rooms that adjoin are 3227 and 3229:confused3. I got that information from Cara Goldsbury's site that's linked on the first page.

That's correct! Connecting means they would have a connecting door.

All the 12s started making me dizzy:laughing:. Congratulations on booking your December trip!!!!!

Thank you for posting those photos - don't you just love those names?!

Oh, thank you so much. It was no treble at all:laughing:. Don't be a stranger, neighbor!

Resistance is futile. MUST-BOOK-BWI... Is that how it all went down? (Thank you for your kind comments, BTW:goodvibes).

:rotfl:
Even without phone service, she'd find a way to change. Does the WDTC do telepathic changes?:teleport:

I told her the same thing waaaaaaaay back when. Did she listen?:sad2:

You know, the lobbies are under utilized. I think WDW has some of the best lobby theming. I love to sit in the WL or the other MK resort lobbies and people watch. I actually love watching families check-in and greeters greet. We all tend to go-go-go when we're at WDW, and sometimes I force myself to stop and take it all in, of course, DD13 finds it rather boring:snooty:

Awwww, I'm so glad you are enjoying the new thread. Will you be reporting live from BWV? What villa type did you book. It's almost time to start packing:hyper:

Thank you for the link with all those fun photos:thumbsup2.

Speaking of links... I added more Swolphin dining menu links to the first page. (Thanks again to lovesdumbo for mentioning about breakfast at Fresh.)

KOOK - I showed DH your wonderful thread here and he actually seemed to get more excited, it took me so long to get him to agree about booking the BW. He always said it would be too noisy at night but now that he knows we won't overlook the Boardwalk he seems ok.(personally I would love to overlook the boardwalk) I do so hope he loves it once we are there but how can he not, he also loves lobbies and food. When we stayed at YC there was a little nitch near the stairs leading to the lobby with one chair and he sat there one day to read. Just looking at the pics of the BW lobby he is pleased.

We had breakfast at kouzzina the morning we checked in and it was wonderful, except the coffee was a bit too strong for me.

I am absolutely in love with the Boardwalk Inn now, we were in room 4292. I don't know if that was any kind of upgrade, but the room was huge, it was on a corner, so we had tons of space. If we get the chance to stay there again, I will ask for a corner room. We had a view of a tree from our balcony, but if you looked past the tree, you could see Epcot and I sat out ther eone afternoon and could hear the entertainment.

I loved the Villa (1 BR), but not quite as much as the hotel room. If we had been on a higher floor, that would have been better for me, I don't like the ground floor at all and we were all the way at the front of the resort, rOom # was 1127. I did love the bed and the tub.

Do I ever listen, it's not because I don't try ;)

So NOW we are 2 nights Poly GV CL.....then 6 nights BWI Standard CL (2 connecting rooms=hopefully...they say guaranteed for families)

HRH is in love with all things BWI (except clown...BUT she likes the elephant kiddie pool....DS10 SO excited about the clown slide )

Well, we just got back home on Saturday from an incredible stay at the Boardwalk Inn and Villas. We stayed at the Inn for 3 nights and the Villas for 4 nights. I will try my best to post pictures this weekend.
Can't wait!!!! Glad you had a great trip!

Awesome start to another wonderful thread about the BWI. We just came back from another wonderful stay club level.:cool1: We were in one of our favorite rooms 4261 which is located right before you use your key to access the innkeepers.:cool1: The lounge was not busy until the weekend. The food offerings were yummy as always.:cloud9: We ate at Flying Fish, Artist Point and Raglan Road. Off property we ate at Charlys Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze and a wonderful Japanese Restaurant. The parks were not too crowded except for you guessed it, the weekend. We could not do as much as we are used to as DH blew his knee out and was on crutches. By the time we go back the end of April hopefully he will be good as new. On the previous thread sfbank mentioned the entertainers on the boardwalk. There are some new entertainers who think that Brian the Magician should be gone. He is the only Entertainer that you will find in the lobby or up in the lounge when it is cold or raining. In fact, the one night it did get chilly so he came to the lounge. He made all of us who were there participate. We had loads of fun. Our next trip is the end of April.:cool1:
That's great!!! Maybe we will see you there. I'll be chasing 4 crazy kiddos and my DD7 (AKA Her Royal Highness) will be sitting enjoying the beauty of it all I am sure...:cloud9:

Lobbies are a big deal, can make or break your first impression when checking in. When we stayed at the YC every time we passed thru the lobby DH would walk over to the big Globe they have there, such a minor detail but for him it made staying at YC great :rotfl:

There is so much in the Lobby at BW but I think his favorite thing is going to be the Golden Carousel/Cherub Chandelier. When he saw the pics of that he was like "WOW" I have to admit it is beautiful and oh so unique

When we went to GF, HRH just sat next to the piano, just sat...She looked at the BWI lobby, saw a pink chair, and was like "OK Mom let's go" that easy. We will all appreciate the walk to Epcot I am sure. DH likes his Poly waterfall, so I hope he doesn't get disappointed. BUT all of us will be happy I am sure.:goodvibes

Well we are 29 days out from our 5th BW stay. We have done it all, BWI, BWV, BW view, CL, courtyard view...and loved every single day of every single stay there. It is a toss-up for our favorite resort along with BC (due to the pool).

I appreciate the quick walk over to DHS and the proximity to International Gateway. This is especially important during F&WF.
Since we stay DVC, I am not concerned with the lack of a CS because we have groceries delivered.
My favorite is when you arrive at night and see the BOARDWALK sign lit. Shivers and goosebumps just thinking about it! :goodvibes

Basically I was just reminiscing about our BW stays and wish the same magical feelings to everyone on their BW stays too.

This past August/September when my family and I did BWI CL/BC CL split stay I remember us driving back to the Beach Club on our 1st night staying there, then looking over to the Boardwalk and missing it. Well on some level I was happy we had a lot of problems at the Beach Club because the next morning we switched back to the Boardwalk Inn and got the same exact room we had checked out of the day before. Plus doing that split stay made us realize how much we love the Boardwalk and won't stay anywhere else. Now had we thought of extending our BWI reservation and cancelling the Beach Club before we were to check-in there we would have done that in a second. Although on another level it's good we left for that 1 night and returned so we know not to do anymore split stays.

We love to do this, too (much to our son's dismay). Especially loved it at WL, where we could sit by the fire in that little sitting area above the lobby -- on the 2nd or 3rd floor, you know what I mean? You're removed from all the hustle & bustle of the lobby activity but have the perfect view of it all. :thumbsup2 At BWI, unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the lobby the same way. We were there during the Christmas season, and the lobby was packed in the evenings with people coming to see the gingerbread gazebo & other decorations. Kind of a bummer, though it's all so pretty I can understand why everyone wants to see it. BWI does have little seating areas, too, but you can't see the lobby or even the boardwalk from them, so we didn't use them.
I know this isn't the WL thread (but I think I have some leeway here;))... I couldn't agree more about loving all the little nooks and crannies where you can relax at the WL.

Have you ever stayed at WL during Christmas? The CL seating area wraps around the entire lobby below (it's U-shaped) and you get a gorgeous view of the tree and all the guests milling about and Santa and the bell ringers.... But the great thing is that the lounge was never crowded or noisy, so it was a great escape, but you could still fully enjoy everything going on below in the lobby.
Well, we just got back home on Saturday from an incredible stay at the Boardwalk Inn and Villas. We stayed at the Inn for 3 nights and the Villas for 4 nights. I will try my best to post pictures this weekend.

Looking forward to our FIRST EVER stay at the BWV in March!
Booked TWO standard studios with rented DVC points.
Thank you for the wealth of information included here and all the beautiful pictures! :cloud9:

Hi friend :wave2:
You're very welcome, Kristineamb. Hope you can post some BWV room photos when you get back. It's so nice to have a friend of Christine's here::yes::

KOOK - I showed DH your wonderful thread here and he actually seemed to get more excited, it took me so long to get him to agree about booking the BW. Well, I'm glad that showing him the thread didn't have the opposite effect:upsidedow

We worried, too about the BW noise and that's why I didn't book the Deluxe room. But now, DH says he doesn't care and I should just book it if I want. But, then he also saw the Garden Cottage photos I posted and thought I should change to that, even though it's not even on CL, which I thought was a requirement for him:sad2:

We had breakfast at kouzzina the morning we checked in and it was wonderful, except the coffee was a bit too strong for me.

Thanks for posting your room review - I love corner rooms, too and it sounds like you were very happy with your stay. I'm looking forward to trying Kouzzinas and I'm glad to hear you liked it since I've read some mixed reviews. I'm going to add your room review to the first page.

Yes, the lobby sets the tone, doesn't it? In fact, the whole check-in sets the tone for me. A friendly/efficient check-in makes me so excited and a crummy/uninspired check-in makes me worried that the whole trip will be disappointing. I even think about checking-in before I get to our resort LOL! It's that first important step to starting your vacation (Well, after our 14 hour drive:rolleyes1)

When we went to GF, HRH just sat next to the piano, just sat...She looked at the BWI lobby, saw a pink chair, and was like "OK Mom let's go" that easy. I'm sure all of you will be happy. I know we all fuss about where to stay and for how long and which resort is the best, but in the end, barring an illness or unforeseen event, we ALL usually have a great WDW vacation and want to go back, right?

That's so sweet, pumpkinfish. Do you have a favorite BWI room/view?

Nascargirl-Even though I have already talked to you through text nd email-WELCOME HOME!;) Now we can start planning our May/June 2013 trip since DD decided to concentrate on basketball and volleyball only:cool1: I am glad to know that other people heard the same thing about magician Brian. We need to keep up to date on that situation and do what we can:thumbsup2

That's so sweet, pumpkinfish. Do you have a favorite BWI room/view?

Well like most things Disney, my favorite room/view is attached to a favorite memory. I took my mother to WDW for a mother/daughter only trip a few years ago. I had booked standard view CL. Growing up we never stayed onsite. She had never stayed in a Value resort, let alone the BWI. So the look on her face when we entered the BWI lobby for the first time brought tears to my eyes. She STILL talks about the chandelier! We were taken to the CL floor and checked in. Mom was so excited about the Innkeeper’s Club and the staff treated her like a princess (Mom was so appreciative). We got our room keys and walked down the hall to our room. The room number escapes me, but when we walked in, I realized we had been upgraded. As I showed her the balcony, our hearts fluttered as we looked out over the boardwalk. :goodvibes

We were right above and to the left of ESPN (maybe 3 rooms from the end of the building). We went in January and it was FREEZING! We pretty much left the parks early each evening and came back for dinner at the club lounge. We would then take our little plates and a glass of wine and sit on our balcony watching the lighthouse and boats and people on the boardwalk. I also treated her to Coral Reef that same trip and she still talks about the mojito she had there. It’s the little things in life…
I was surprised that we never heard any noise except from the boats’ horns as they pulled in/out of the pier areas.

This is an early morning picture looking to the left from our balcony:

Here is mom getting her breakfast:

Here is towards the right of our balcony. You can see them setting up for Superbowl at ESPN (year 2009):

pas - I am betting if you keep the reservation at BWI your DH will find something to love about it there and he will have 2 days at the Poly and his beloved waterfall. I think it is a good split :thumbsup2

KOOK you might want to check on the Garden Suites again, they are CL , it is just that they are such a distance from the lounge, but I do think having your own private entrance and bi-level and whirlpool tub makes up for being less convient to the lounge. Staying at the Garden Suites is another of my dreams places to stay :cloud9:
It would be perfect for your Anniversary

As sjs314 already mentioned the Garden Suites are Club Level rooms, however one thing you should know just incase is that their rates per night are more expensive then the Deluxe Rooms.

Also originally for our December 2010 reservations we had reserved the Garden Suites. However once we got a tour of them we thought for us they were to small and we didn't like having that walk to the lounge. So we then switched to the Standard Club Level Room.

pumpkinfish...almost the same "mother" story here. The club cast members have always treated my mother so well. And the last visit we made in 2010 moved me to tears. Mom has Alzheimer's , and they treated her so nicely, and with such respect. It meant a lot to me.

Very special people at BWI.

nascargirl--glad you had another good trip! Definitely sounds like you had some good visits with the lounge scoundrels.

pumpkinfish, that's a wonderful story and I love your photos. It's difficult to describe how amazing a Boardwalk view room is in the morning. So calm and peaceful. I would have neve guessed that before staying there, but our BWI mornings are some of our favorites at Disney. I could sit out on that balcony for hours (actually, I can't - I have an energetic husband and three very active boys - but that sounds like a nice idea!)

]Hi! My name is Babs and I am a Boardwalkaholic. I am addicted to this thread and all things Boardwalk. At first I was too shy and afraid to stand up and be counted but reading this thread, studying the pictures, and getting to know you...I know I am not alone. Thank you, thank you!!! It is such a relief to know there are more of you out there proud of your addiction. I no longer have to lurk in the shadows reading all the other threads about the other resorts. I am a proud Boardwalkian and I can share my addiction with all of you!!!

That being said...I can't wait to go in November...but I know this thread will keep me strong, informed, in touch, prepared and will give me my daily fix. Keep it comin' this thread is my lifeline...

And only you know how that feels...Thank you!

Welcome to the club and if you are addicted to the Boardwalk this is right place to be.

Once again I was looking at the amazing picutres of the Luna Park Pool area posted by WDWKOOK and I had this idea of something I want to try when I at the Boardwalk this coming August. Once the slide is closed for the evening is it possible that I can walk right up to the top and get some pictures from that area or do you think it's not allowed?
