Hey brunette. Have a great trip! Request a boardwalk view and hopefully you will be pleased. The club level rooms are either standard or deluxe which is a bigger room. They will try to meet requests. Have an awesome time!:goodvibes

Hi SFBANK!

Thank you so much! I'll give you my trip report when I return. I really appreciate all your help. :goodvibes

Going to be at the BWV in 7days!:worship::banana::cool1: Can anyone help me with what kind of coffee machines they have now so I can pack my coffee and filters. THANKS!:flower3:
The Villas have a standard 12 cup basket filter coffee maker. I've heard many of the Inn side units have a K-cup coffee maker now. I've also heard (I hear a lot :) ) a rare occasion of a Villa unit getting a K-cup coffee maker, but with a call to housekeeping it was switched to the normal 12 cup maker. I don't know if you could do the reverse, I would think not. The normal coffee maker is generally the "DVC Standard" for the WDW units (where many people do bring their own coffee), while the K-cup machine seems to be slowly getting rolled out to the Deluxe non-DVC resorts.
I am not a coffee drinker but DH is and I'd like to be prepared for his sake! :surfweb:
We will be staying in a standard studio BWV next month.
We have a Keurig at home and it would be great if I just had to pack him some K-cups! :woohoo:

16 days until I move in to BWV! I am a long time BCV fan but decided it would be nice to stay on the other side of the pond this time. I just read through this thread. Thanks to all for the fabulous information. I am looking for a little more information. We are staying in a 1 bedroom renting points from the DVC Rental Store (Paul Little has been wonderful!). We are also going down with 3 other families that at are staying at BWV. I understand that if you do the online check in there are specific options for room requests. We would all like to be near each other and figure we have a better chance if we all request the same thing. Does anyone know what the options are for room requests for BWV? Thanks so much!
We have also rented DVC points for our stay. We have reserved TWO standard studios as we are travelling with extended family. We would LOVE it if our studios could be nearby/adjacent to one another....any suggestions on what to DO or what NOT to do (check in online or not, etc) to increase the possibility of this happening would be greatly appreciated :worship:

Has anyone had cases of water delivered to BWV recently?
We always order a few cases of water from COSTCO and have them delivered to our resort...we have done this numerous times @Pop Century but since this will be our first time at BWV I wasn't sure if the procedure was the same?

No one has had water delivered from COSTCO to the BWV???? :confused3

WDWKOOK,
In the description of the ESPN Club on the 1st page here is something else which I think you should add.

If anyone wants to place a take out order from there all they do is tell the Cast Member working behind the Bar who will then put in their order. Also with all take out orders they automatically add 18% gratuity to your bill.

Wished we could have done K-cups! Didn't think to ask to switch out the coffee maker. We ask next time.

We had two 2 bedroom villas right next to each other, but our reservations were linked. My BIL did the first 2 days of our stay on his points. Maybe you can have them linked some how. The other 4 rooms of our group were scattered, but it really wasn't that bad. Good Luck.

We had water delivered with our order from Garden Grocer and the bell desk just held everything until our room was ready and brought it up to us. I did call the front desk before our trip to let them know about the order and they said they do it all the time. Not sure about Costco, so you could always call.

Does anyone now if the official closing time for Luna Park slide will change anytime soon? I just saw that BC/YC extended SAB official hours to 10pm starting Feb 12th. All I can find is 7pm for Luna Park slide. Might have to make the change to BC, my family are huge swimmers & the slide being open is important to us.

So as I was daydreaming over our upcoming ressies (hotel and dining), I noticed that DH has us booked for "standard view" and not our usual "preferred view". No biggie since I'm just excited we even got the ressie, but what should I expect? We will be in a 1-bedroom. From looking at the map, we will be along the main drive or in the building closest to DHS, correct? Do any of the rooms look out over the canal near Swan/Dolphin? We had one of those views before and loved it!

I think all of the standard views on the Villa side face the front areas, such as the parking lot, bus stop area, etc. The canal views are definitely Preferred. There is a small section of standard views that are by the Wyland Gallery area, supposedly those are good rooms to get since that area does have a nice view. I forget the name of that area, though! :headache: Hopefully someone else can help out.

When I stayed at the BWI in December 2011, their information channel said the closing time for the Luna Park slide was 10:00 PM.

Often the slides close around 7 but the pools are open later

You're welcome and since the ESPN Club is my favorite restaurant in Walt Disney World I love everything about it.

hi, staying at BWV at the end of the month, did they show hockey games at the espn club? can you request certain games? thanks
p.s.-just down the 401 from you in kitchener, however, not a leafs fan.

Thanks for that information. I just want to be prepared when I step out onto our balcony and see a parking lot instead of something better ;) If anyone knows the area above the Wyland Gallery, please let me know :wizard:

Well, we stayed at the BWV in October in a preferred view villa and were just above the Gallery. It wasn't such a great view as we were under the overhang and so it was actually quite dark in the room. So I don't think there are any standard view villas in that area.

In December 2010 I got to see the Leafs games when they were playing in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. I requested that they put the Calgary and Vancouver games on one of their TV's in the bar area which was never a problem. As for the game against Edmonton that happened to be on one of their big screen TV's with sound in the bar area, so that was a nice surprise.

In December 2011 the only game I saw was another Toronto vs Vancouver match up, which I asked to be put on one of their TV's in the dining room area.

So to answer your question if there is an NHL game you want to watch just tell them the teams who are playing that night and they will put it on for you.

Two weeks until we check in for BWV preferred view (garden/water) studio. I haven't made any room requests yet, but plan to soon. Been doing some research and looking for opinions...

We stayed in this type of room once before: it was 2063, a dedicated studio with parson's bench/bed, villag green view. We loved the room & view. Only downfall was that it was right next to and on the same level as the "back porch" off of the lobby. I think we would like to have the same room, but just a floor or two higher. Wondering: is it likely that rooms 3063 or 4063 are the same layout, just higher up? If that's the case, I think we really want one of those rooms.

On the other hand, a water view that looks out toward pool, Swan/Dolphin/HS would be kind of nice too.

I think we would prefer a dedicated studio. Should we request this first and view second? or Should we request view first and dedicated studio second? or does the order not matter?

I think we'd prefer a higher floor regardless of view/ dedicated studio, so maybe the floor should be my request.

As you can see, I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to make too specific of a request. At this point, I know we'll just be happy to be there! Maybe I shouldn't make any request at all and see what we get?

Things that don't matter to us: distance to lobby/elevator- actually sometimes it's better to be farther away from all of that. Also, we'll be arriving early (about 8:00am) so I know we won't be able to get into our right away- I could just make my request that morning when we arrive, but I don't know if that might be too late.

Please share your expereince and room/view preferences! Suggestions are welcome.

Morning everyone! I just figured out that we will be at the Boardwalk when the Olympics start. Has anyone been there during the Olympics? Just wondered if ESPN Club would do anything interesting. Actually, I think I'll post another thread about this in general. Thanks!

Last time we got the exact opposite of our request, so it may not matter. :confused3

That being said, I would stil request what you feel is most important, in order. Just in case it does make a difference, it couldn't hurt to try. Since you are arriving early, I would ask when you check in if your requests were filled, and if not, maybe they would be able to check again to move you. Good luck!

I just saw this post in the DVC threads. It shows a map of the various Villa views. Very useful. It would be nice if we got approval to put it on the first page.

Thanks for posting the link, psac. I just PM'd Granny to get permission to put the map up on the first page.

ETA: I've gotten permission and have posted the image to the first page. Thanks again, psac and Granny!
