After 11 years of being DVC members, we finally stayed at the BWV.

We arrived the morning of 10/2 after our cruise. We first were told that there were two studios available, but one was smoking the other handicapped. We declined and said that we would wait. Next thing, another room popped up and we were all set.

We open the door to our studio, go the the balcony and there he is, the clown. :scared: That which I fear most is taunting me. ;)

That night, I go to bed with visions of the movie "It" racing through my head. I wake up, phew, the evil clown didn't come and kill me in my sleep. :p

We also visited the Saratoga Springs preview center. In a word "elegant." We were very impressed, and you get candy when it's over.:teeth: (Just what I needed after cruizin' the week before.)

BTW, the artist Wyland was at the BW gallery yesterday doing book signings. We bought two books for our DD's that we put away for Christmas. He was so nice! He's very personable and we watched him paint a picture that was later auctioned.

You just never know what's going to happen when you visit WDW.

The clown is really comical. I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking to myself that this one wasn't completely thought through! I personally used to have clown nightmares as a child, so I can totally relate. LOL We got over it pretty fast though. It really is great theming!

Sounds like a nice trip, Regina. Thanks for posting some of it. Did you enjoy the other amenities of the Boardwalk area during your stay?

Granny, we did go to the bakery in the morning, and we stopped at the ESPN Zone for drinks one evening.

I have to say, I was underwhelmed by the transportation. We went to MNSSHP and stayed until the end. Since that meant that no one would be going to the MK, you would think that the bus driver would have asked which resorts his passengers were going to. Nope, we made all five stops, two of which were unnecessary. I felt sorry for the families who had very tired little ones in tow.

We also did Fantasmic. I glanced at the boat dock as we left, saw a long line of people, and immediately decided to walk back to the BW. Not a single boat was in sight until we were passing the Swan/Dolphin resorts. We made it back well before any of the boats.

I'm glad that we stayed there, but OKW is still my first love.

Reg,
I am so relieved to hear that the "evil clown" did not get you! Good to know you somehow managed to get some sleep, even with him out there watching you! Must have been the exhaustion from that tough week of cruising!

I'm glad I'm not the only one worried about that big scary clown!! I'm glad it didn't get you in the middle of the night. ;)

Regina, I admit that the bus service is kind of spotty, but I've found that everywhere I've been at WDW. Even your lovely home OKW has been known to have some transportation issues from time to time.

Edit to add:{That last comment was not meant in any sarcastic way. I re-read this and see that it could be construed that way. I'm not a resort basher of any kind...I was just trying to point out that all resorts have some transportation issues from time to time}

I do wish they could figure out a way to have less sharing on the Swan/BC/YC/BCV/BW route. Seems like those places are pretty big resorts that should be able to command less sharing during peak times.

Glad that you enjoyed your trip...and the mention of BW Bakery has managed to get my aroma memories awakened! :)

Sounds like a wonderful trip! (Well, except the evil clown off the balcony! And here is another vote for the walk back from MGM Studios after Fantasmic! Such a pretty and peaceful stroll.

After seeing that picture I know I could never invite my brother to stay at BWV. His first trip to Disney would be over at check-in.

EEK TAGREL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the clown is pretend, the clown can't kill me

Granny, I have no problem with the transportation comment.

It's been my experience at OKW when it's a late run with no pick-ups, the driver will ask who needs which stops. He/she will skip the drop-offs that aren't needed.

If the driver that we had on Friday night did that, we could have avoided both the Dolphin and Yacht Club. The MK was closed at that point so no one would be heading there.

I still think that they should have had a boat there when Fantasmic let out. We had reached the BWV before one was in sight heading to the MGM dock.

Okay Reg. I'm going to have to cut you some slack. I don't have "clown issues" but that picture Tagrel posted kind of freaks me out. Suddenly I'm having second thoughts about buying at the BWV before inspecting the pool!

That Clown is scary!

:earseek:

Kind of reminds me of the "Hi Partner" waving sign on the Vegas Strip that freaked me out when I was a kid. Apparently, I kept waking up in the middle of the night to peek out the window and announce "he's still there" to my parents.

:earseek:

Yea!!! someone else who hates that clown!

On my first visit I got the BW view and loved the place - the next 4 times I got the Clown - so now I get standard view......::yes::
