Hey Guys I lived at Ft. Belvoir most of last year. Just got back to TN in Oct. DS is stationed in DC. Now we live part time in Severn MD. DDIL is stationed at Ft. Meade.

DDIL taught preschool at Trinity Temple in Woodbridge before joining Army in Oct. of last year. Small world huh??

In Woodbridge I love that BBQ place not Smokey Bones but seems like it is Smokey something. It is right on RT. 1. I know it is Dixie BBQ. Yummmmmy.
Those baked potatoes with all the trimmings are way to good.

Hey! It IS a small world. Ft. Meade was the army base where I spent the summer I was sixteen. (I lived in Vegas at the time). Based on that summer there, I decided that the DC area was where I wanted to live when I was married. Took us long enough but we finally moved here!

I idolize Bonnie. I wait with baited breath for her every post.

Nope! It's still open for business! Trisha and I started this thread on the welcome boards to that newbies might feel comfortable getting in on a new friend thread while in it's beginning stages. It can be really scary joining a new thread that is thousands of pages long already. But then this thread got moved to the CBs, so I'm not sure how many newbies are gonna see it now!

Be careful, some of the names they'll come up with will be... let's say interesting.

FWIW, I'm Shannon, 31 yrs old, married, and have DS 9 and DS 3. I have plenty of bleach stained, holey-crotched sweatpants, so the dress code is easy. Also tons of unused scrapping supplies, and unwanted pounds to lose.

Everyone, this is Shannon! I met her at my preschool a few months ago! She saw my lime green Mickey Antenna ball and asked me if I was on the DIS boards! We have been pals ever since! morning! I tried posting here yesterday, but the DIS choose that moment to have a colossal slowdown so I had to give up. Must be too many bugs they are still trying to get rid of

I am off and hobbling today. It is to hell with it day for me! I am going to drive myself to my Dr appt. First time I have driven further than a few blocks since the surgery. My only other option was to ask a friend who's driving is so scary that it really makes more sense to just do it one footed myself (no Shug, I am not talking about you!)

Then I am going to get lunch and I am going to walk and just say screw it if it hurts. And then going to Costco with DH.

Oh, and the idea of a thread for the newbies was a great one! But it just can't be ON the Welcome Board. But you all could go to the Welcome Board and say Hi to new people and give them the link over to here and invite them to join us. Kayla and I could also put a mention of it and link in my siggy, how about that?
