I'm here! Just watching the Steelers and drinking my umpteenth glass of water for the day.

We ended up going shopping today, and I got some new Bare Escentuals stuff and make-up brushes. I also got a magnified mirror. :scared1:

Did you get a lighted magnified mirror? I have one and love it. I am trying to work up the courage to do my eyebrows myself. I bought some of the hot wax for home use but have just been reading the directions. How hard can it be. The girl that does them when I get my hair done will die if I come in with one eyebrow gone and I ask her to fix my mess.:sad2:

Looks like Granny Homer is on the boards by herself tonight. You young people are probably out partying while I am home feeling my age tonight. :surfweb:

I ain't out partying either! I'm home reading the second book in the Twilight series, by Stephenie Meyer! :thumbsup2 How are you doing, Granny?

Trisha!! :cool1: You are a spoiled brat, Missy! I go crazy every time I go to Sephora. I can never just go in there and get one thing. It turns into a Philosophy and Bare Minerals extravaganza!

I hear ya. I am going in tomorrow for a lip and eyebrow wax. I can NOT do my eyebrows myself. I end up looking like a DAMN FOOL. :sad2:

I just got a handheld one for now. The mirror was bad enough that I don't need lights to enhance what I'm seeing!

I do my own eyebrows. It's not hard at all! Just do a little at a time so you don't end up having to tweeze or wax the other to match your boo-boo!

I held strong and did not buy any new Philosophy items! And I'd only be spoiled if I wasn't paying for my stash myself. DH just stood there as I whipped out my money. :sad2:

I will have to work up the nerve to do them myself.

When I am in the DC are I go to Ulta all the time. I use their Ulta Minerals and love them. It is so much fun to shop there. We do not have Ultas so if I run out DDIL has to ship them to me or I order online.

Jeez O Pete I can't spell crap tonight.

No new philosophy items? :sad2: Girl, I am all stocked up! I have two bottles of Amazing Grace, the big fat AG lotion with pump, and all my skin care products!

I love Ulta! Granny, let me know next time you are in DC. We can go to Ulta together!!

And yeah, ordering online is most convenient! I much prefer it to shopping in person.

I have given up on trying to do my eyebrows myself. I dont have the whole symetry thing down. My right eyebrow was "surprised" for a month and a half the last time I tried to do it. And I am such a wuss my eyes tear the entire time I am trying to do it. At least at the salon its over and done with a couple of quick rips.

I know! MIGHTY frosty! :cold: So how far is Herndon from Woodbridge, do you know? :)

It takes me about an hour to get to Ikea ( I usully only venture over that way for the outlets and Ikea) from here depending on traffic. I live right next to Dulles airport where the toll raod meet Rt 28

I just got back from seeing P.S. I Love you . I was surprised how good it was even though I crying for half the movie.

Hey, Spoodleink!! :wave2:

I wanna see that movie too!! Do you recommend it? How many stars out of five do you give it?

And let me know next time you come to Woodbridge, and maybe we can meet for lunch or something. I am like 15 minutes from the mall. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

Been there...looked like that!

Been there...looked like that!

I can vouch for that. I met Trisha once and she spent the whole time looking surprised! I know it was just because of eyebrown plucking gone wrong and not because of my behavior.:rolleyes1

Hi Ladies!! I haven't posted in a few days. Started back to work and we went right in to registration for the semester (community college). We have beens sooooo busy and getting off really late. My job is usually pretty easy and quiet, just not during the 3 times a year we have registration. Just a note to any of you who have college age kids--PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT send them to registration with a blank check, signed by you without making darn sure they know what to do with it. You would be amazed at how many 18-19 year olds come in, with a blank check (SIGNED, mind you) and have know idea what they are supposed to do with it, they don't know if they are supposed to pay a portion of their tuition, all of it or what. It can mean the difference in a $400 check and a $1200 check!

One of you mentioned going to a wrestling match--i am assuming you meant "olympic" style wrestling--and mentioned it being boring. My ds is also a wrestler but he is now a "professional" wrestling (as in hulk hogan, steve austin, wwe wrestling). I don't know why they call it "professional" as he doesn't actually get paid most of the time :confused3 he wrestles in small shows here in ms; in alabama and in florida. Its really a lot of fun to watch.

Yeah...you keep telling yourself that Squid! ;)

Hey, lady! Nice to see you! :flower3: That's crazy about the signed checks! That must be impossible to deal with!

That's funny about the wrestling. Does your DH ever get injured from doing it?

Actually the check thing is just a minor problem for us. I can only imagine what it does to some parents checking account though!! You would be amazed at some of the stuff these kids do though. These are intelligent kids, but its like they leave their brain at home everytime they come to register for classes!!

Its my DS that wrestles--and no he's never really been hurt. He did cut his face open one time on the metal steps at the ring. no stiches, the doc used glue to fix it. He's at a show tonight, we couldn't go because dd had a basketball game, so I've been waiting up for him to call once the shows over to let me know everythings ok.

Have fun at wrestling, Merle!

It was interesting, to say the least. About 360 sweatie, stinky boys, give or take about 5 girls! :thumbsup2 Godsons team has a girl and there were 3 or 4 more, it's all a blur now. One or two kids had to be taken out by ambulance, not really sure because we saw one boy who looked like he may have broken his arm but about 20 minutes after he was walked out of the room by a couple paramedic's, a couple more came in with a gurney, not sure what was going on.

Lots of bloody noses, by the third match for this one boy on DGS's team we were wondering how long till his nose started again, it wasn't long!:scared:

DGS had 4 matches total and won 2 of them putting him in 4th place. His last one was really rough, he kept pushing the kid out of the ring and into things. The first time it was against the wall, which was covered with a mat, the second was into the kids coaches and the third in the direction of the table where the people do the scoring and timing. That time it was sooooo funny because the timing person had to jump out of his chair and run or be run over! He was really doing good but let his guard down and the kid was able to pin him.

Looks like Granny Homer is on the boards by herself tonight. You young people are probably out partying while I am home feeling my age tonight. :surfweb:

No I was in a hot, funky gym! :scared:

Yes it was. High school wrestling to be exact.

My friend and I did get to leave for a little bit here and there. The first time was after his first match and we ran to the Amish Market to get lunch. We no sooner get there and her DH, who is at home mind you, saying that her DS had called and his next match would be in 30 minutes. :headache: Now the Amish Market is a very busy place so we were not able to do anything but get lunch, no other shopping allowed. :sad1: No Farmer's cheese, no Whoppie pies, no fresh ground beef or lunch meats or sausage!

I say to DF, watch us get back and his match is not for a long while, and guess what? We get back and he doesn't do his second match until over an hour later! I didn't get my cheese!

I really need to get to bed. Will tell you all about our second jaunt out and the rather cute but snobby doggy shop we went to!

Hey Bon, there is a DIS meet on the 19th in DC! Wanna come to dinner? I think we are meeting at Tysons, not sure where yet. It won't be scary, so don't worry! :thumbsup2

If I promise to be on my best behavior, can I come too? (ask Bonnie-- I bathe frequently!;) )

I'm here! Just watching the Steelers and drinking my umpteenth glass of water for the day.

We ended up going shopping today, and I got some new Bare Escentuals stuff and make-up brushes. I also got a magnified mirror. :scared1:

*sigh* I :lovestruc Bare Escentuals! Makes me look somewhat alive. Somewhat.

I ain't out partying either! I'm home reading the second book in the Twilight series, by Stephenie Meyer! :thumbsup2 How are you doing, Granny?
I just finished book 3! I loved the series, and am seriously thinking about re-reading it already!

Hi Spoodleink! I live in Woodbridge too, but am out your way frequently. My MIL lives in Roundhill. Unfortunately for my bank account, I live 4 miles from Ikea and Potomac Mills.

That wrestling is violent sport, I tell ya! No wonder pro wrestlers get paid the big bucks!
