Hi all,

I hope you all can help me. My DH and I are in major PURGE mode around the house. I can't believe how much stuff we have gotten rid of. Well, today (yes, I'm supposed to be doing taxes) I started cleaning my area and I have a LOT of supplies that I don't use any longer that I'd love to donate somewhere. I have some good die cuts, stickers, etc. I thought about e-baying it all...but in the spirit of taxes....donations are good too! Anyone know of a good non-profit that will take some good supplies?

I'll also add that I have a sizzix (yep, got my cricut now) with an alphabet and another cutting system by lighthouse memories that I'm thinking of donating too.

Thanks,

Karen

I would first try your sons' school. I gave a TON of paper to the kindergarten teacher and she just loved it!

We have a local store called The Blessing Barn and all their profits go to charity. They also give things to local families in need. One time I brought in bags of markers and pencils and they told me they would use them in the school. Do you have any places like that in your area? I feel better when things go to others who will use them - my kids are also good about giving now.

I am also in the purging mood and this weekend have been working with dd9 to clean out her room. Over the winter she had quite a growth spurt and a lot of last years clothes just don't fit anymore so they will be off in the charity bin tomorrow.

Hope you find a place for them! :)

The Boys and Girls Clubs may be interested and since they're a non-profit, I would think it would be a tax donation. My dd works for them and I know they're always short on money/supplies.

I would also say check out your local ARC (association for retarded citizens) or other organizations for people with special needs -
- the local elementary schools would also love it I am sure
have fun trying to find the lucky organization

You can check on scout troops and senior centers. Many times they are short of craft supplies and don't have funds to purchase them. Not knowing really how much you have, is there a local non-profit that could use your things to make items to sell to help with their operating expenses? Perhaps you could ask your local LSS about where their extras are donated. Mine sends her extras to local Girl Scout troops. If you go to church, maybe you could donate there.

If you have a childrens hopital they may have a program that is set up for the kids in the hospital to do scrapbooks while they are there for such a long stay. I have read about this in several different places that they have something like this set up for the kids.

logan&tylersmama was collecting stuff for a trip she's doing with come handicapped adults later this year - the thread is closed now (I tried to bump it) but she might be in the market for some stuff or know of a worthy organisation.:goodvibes
