Bailey's & ribs & chocolate........OH MY!!!!!
Confession time!
Okay, so I had good intentions, I REALLY did. I started Saturday morning with a good breakfast (low-fat oatmeal, turkey bacon & tea). I then headed to my friend's house for tea. Some of my girlfriends and I were going to spend the afternoon together having lunch and shopping, and then all get together for dinner with our husbands and children. Sounds innocent enough, right?
My friend and I decide to go for TEA before lunch by going to her fiance's new cafe. Her fiance was understandably very proud to show me around. The place was beautiful! He then asks me what I'd like to order - on the house. I settled on chai tea with a splash of skim milk. He was positively horrified! He wanted me to try one of his specialty pastries, have a latte, bailey's & coffee....SOMETHING! Now, I didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I settled on a chai latte. It was rich, it was creamy, it was HIGH CAL, but oh so delicious. No problem, I'd do better at lunch.
My friends ordered the cheesiest, most garlicy mushroom caps and I WANTED SOME. I resisted....and ordered a salmon patty on salad for lunch. The salad dressing had sesame seeds and a very sweet flavour to it. Not sure how bad the dressing was for me, but at least I had salmon so I felt relatively "clean". My friends had lattes and other thick and rich coffee drinks for dessert and I.....sipped on water.
Okay, I was worried that I had still overdone it, but it could've been worse right? We then went back to the cafe before going to dinner. My friend's fiance positively insisted I have a shot of bailey's on the rocks (one of my favourite pasttimes

). I tried to say no.....but he actually seemed insulted, so I weakened.

Before dinner, my friend INSISTED on making me a raspberry martini. It was her specialty drink and she really wanted me to try one. I really did try to politely say no, but she said she had been looking forward to this weekend for months and really wanted us to try one of her martini's together. Soo, I weakened yet again.
Onto dinner. What was on the menu? One glass of red wine (thankfully I was able to only have 1), hash browns, ribs, salad, asparagus, chicken, chocolate candy, raspberry cheesecake, tiramisu, choc. chip cookies, and... Well, you get the idea! OY! I managed single servings of the main course and only a sliver of cheesecake and half a choc. chip cookie for dessert. But boy, was I FULL and feeling full of guilt over the food.
Unfortunately, I'm not done with the bad eating yet! Today was a four person birthday party in my family. Lunch included chicken parm., fried cheesy potatoes, bacon/broccoli salad and cake & ice cream for dessert. Oy! I stuck to my motto of single servings of the main course with a small piece of cake with no ice cream.
Did I exercise at all? Nope. Did I drink my water? Nope. Did I overeat? Yup!
That's my confession for this weekend. Other than during my trip to Disney, I haven't eaten so much food since June! Plus, we leave for vacation next weekend so even more food is coming my way!! Oh the temptation!!! I'm quite nervous about weighing myself this week, so I think I'll wait until Wednesday.
In the meantime, if you need me, I'll be on the treadmill.
