[I'm not sure if this is the right board for this question. Please feel free to move it if not.]

How dressy do people get for La Nouba (9:00 show, if it makes a difference)? Personally, I *love* to get dressed up, but at the same time, I don't want to be dressed to the 9's if everyone else is in jeans and t-shirts.

It's pretty much a mixed bag, and you'll see people all over the place, fashion-wise. I wouldn't go the "dressed to the 9's" route, simply because you'll feel overdressed. By that, I mean that I wouldn't go formals, tuxes, and jewels (which is "dressed to the 9's" where I come from). However, I regularly see lots of women in their "little black dresses" or other cocktail-type attire accompanied by men in suits and ties. Of course, you're at a resort/theme park, so you may well be sitting next to people in shorts and flip-flops, even at 9pm. Not to worry, though ... just as you're wondering if you've overdone it, they'll be looking at each other thinking that they're underdressed! And once the lights go down, no one will be thinking about clothes ....

So true!!! :D

If this helps, when we went last Feb, I wore a nice shirt, cropped pants, and sandals, my husband wore a polo shirt and khakis and my DD wore a nice shirt and pants. Nice, but still casual and comfortable. I think that's the best way to go. You will see those who maybe have come straight from the parks in their t-shirts and jeans, but I still believe in dressing nicely for the theater and that's why we went back to our room to change before the show. You would, however, probably feel overdressed in anything more than nice pants or a skirt and a shirt or sweater. Have fun! We'll be there in 2 1/2 weeks and seeing La Nouba again on Jan 21st and I can't wait!

Thanks for the advice you two! I think I'll probably go the "split difference" route like you did, Karibeth. :) (Although I was secretly hoping you'd steer me towards a ball gown. ;) )
