Ciao Mickey, This is NOT Disney. The real Europe visited...8/16 - Day 9.11 & 9.12

Glad you got a boat ride on the canals. Your pictures show what a lovely city Venice is. Glad everyone got on and I hope that they enjoyed the ride; irrespective of how they might have felt at the start.

I can't believe that people told you there was nothing in Venice to see! I'm glad you got a boat ride even if it wasn't a Gondola. The pictures are great and I miss the place (even though it was almost 30 years ago that I went there.)

I can't believe someone told you there is nothing to see in Venice. :sad2: Very very wrong!!!

Your boat ride looks nice. We usually use the Vaporetto - the "water bus" and usually score a seat in the front of it. Cheapest sightseeing tour there is. I hope you get to see a lot more of Venice and venture off on foot again - as it is a beautiful city with lots of history! :goodvibes

Okay, and I won't mention that Venice belonged to Austria for some time. ;) :rotfl2:
Yep, I agree.
They were packed and we wanted our own experience. Between all of us chipping in it was not bad. I might walk around later.
:rotfl2: Now I see the real reason why you love it. :lmao:

That boat looks a lot safer than the gondolas. :rotfl: the architecture is amazing.
:lmao: Very true. Yes it was.

Thank you. More to come, probably tomorrow.
You will see how all felt in the next post. :)

They said it was dirty and smelly. So not true.
:thumbsup2

So excited to follow!!!
:welcome:
Thank you for following along and posting.

When I left you last we were on a private boat tour and we are still on it.

We passed this building.

Then we came to pass this beauty. I took 30 pics of it, I won’t post them all. LOL.

I wish I knew what every building was. I feel like it is not helping the report but I am more of a photo taker than a note taker. LOL.

The dome.

Looking back as we passed it. it is pretty.
15058273124_70cb0c46fc_c.jpg

Here it is with Gondolas in front of it.
15058271674_5d7a8fbd22_c.jpg

Now we were starting to cross the open water. Well not so much open but much bigger than the small canals.
15492334049_e6754e4661_c.jpg

Here is a look at the previous building in its full.
15492332329_3dfffa4a94_c.jpg

Previous to this Lorraine and barbara had come out into the back to stand and look. I believe it was around this time that Barbara had enough and she went inside. LOL. Lorraine stuck it out. We both kept saying to each “I cannot believe I am here” and it was true.

Looking back towards the city.

Not quite sure what this is but it did look nice.

It was around this point that we made a u-turn.
15679797122_3536821761_c.jpg

The pretty building form earlier this was the end of it.
15492997057_f820f377c0_c.jpg

I saw this group of gondolas. I like the way the pic looks.

Then we moved on.
15058249574_d58acf0218_c.jpg

Then I saw this crazy thing.

And then I am going to stop again because I think I am getting close to pic limit.

Up next,

More of the boat ride….

P.S. I will be catching up on tr's this week if I am reading yours.

As Dizneeat has pointed out, your pictures captured some of the more prominent buildings along the Grand Canal. Great pictures. I'm really enjoying seeing Venice through your camera lens. Looking forward to more.

That building whatever it is, is amazing
:thumbsup2 I agree.

Show off. :rotfl: Kidding. Thank you for the information. I had no idea what they were. The guy didn't speak except one time to tell us what we were looking at. I thought the gondolas were some of the best known sights. :rotfl2:
I have a feeling you might be filling us in later in the trip too. :worried:

She was very helpful.
Thank you.

Nice pics from your boat tour, too bad the driver didn't tell you much. Venice is one place I would like to see someday, I'm pretty sure I was there when I was about 2 years old but of course I don't remember any of it, LOL only pics that my parents have. I think we saw Venice, Piza and Rome. We lived in Germany at the time when my dad was stationed there (early--mid 70's)

That was a nice hotel you were staying in, so many different nice places to sit and relax.

Nope. he was one his phone a lot but it wasn't a guided tour.
How can you not remember that? :rotfl2: Too bad you don't remember.
it was very nice. Definitely recommend it.

We don't need words, Scott. Your pictures are beautiful and capture it all.

I can't wait to read more (I hope to say caught up now).

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Vinny.

And here I was going to be jumping in my seat, raising my hand saying, "Pick me, pick me!"

"That's Epcot!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

No, seriously, those are beautiful pictures. I don't need to know what things are necessarily. Your photos are wonderful.

I think I've been to this building before - in Epcot! :rotfl2:

Those gondolas have got to be the coolest things ever.

I love that you got a private boat tour. Very nice!

The buildings are all gorgeous. Good thing Karin chimed in with the names of everything. :rotfl2:

I hear you though - I am also much more of a picture taker than a note taker. If I can't memorize it then its gone!

Hello Mark, Jeff & Donna.
15654579156_640bb62dd5_c.jpg

I believe the driver told us this is where George Clooney was getting married. It looks like the building when I google it. It is the only thing he told us the entire trip. LOL.

Another look at the building.
15493497210_cddf8caced_c.jpg

Then we came to Rialto Bridge.
