Nice room. I guess it served the purpose of bed and shower...and it all looked clean.

But I'm with you. I think I would have preferred a room with a view....of canals.

It was a beautiful hotel. It was once a monastery.
I think I would stay here again because it was clean and so close to the train station which I think is important. Hopefully I get to choose again someday. but staying on the canal would be nice if I could get one close to the station.

That picture of your friend....with the painted arm in the most inappropriate area......well I died laughing and I don't even know her.

It was very frustrating. I twas only us who had Verizon that had issues. Donna & Mark had T-Mobile and never had an issue.

Now that we toured the room lets take a look at the other areas.

This was outside our door.

This was next to our door.

here are closer looks at the items inside the case.

Now I was going to go outside into the courtyard.

The area out here was really lovely and looked like a nice place to have a drink or eat.

Here is the bell tower. The hotel used to be a monastery and I believe they had some literature on the history.

In the center was a sitting area. Again great area to sit and have wine.

In the back were more tables to eat at.

Then a stone path leads you to another sitting area.

Here is what you can sit on.

They had a banana tree back there.

Then I went back inside. I saw this on the wall.

Then I took photos of the items on the walls. This was all in the area of the red furniture.

This was above the door to the bathroom.

Then I took a pic of the door looking out.

Then we went out to explore. Time to stop again.

That's a very interesting hotel. European hotels seem so different from those in the US, but it really has a lot of character. The courtyard looks so relaxing.

I love how they take old buildings ad turn them into something new instead of knocking them down and building new.

I still would be afraid they would fall in. A lot of people hang their laundry out in Italy.

After touring the hotel we left it and had a mission to see if we could do. Now I had made no tour plans for Venice because we heard it not much to see (this is so false). They had an idea and we walked over to see if we could do it.

Here is the alley looking from the hotel to the canal.

We walked over by the train station and a couple from our group went into the tourist office there and got us a private boat ride. it is for an hour on a taxi. They told us where to go and wait so we did.

This was across from us.

We weren’t sure if it was the right spot but then we figured it was and it turned out it was. Here is our boat and driver coming.

Now let me say that Lorraine & Barbara were nervous about going on. Barbara does not swim and Lorraine does not like the water, she will not even put her toe in. But we all got on and we were off. Vinny, me and Jeff I think went to the back. Lorraine, Barbara and Mark were in the cabin and Donna was in the front by the driver.

We pulled out and I saw another boat full of tourists. LOL. I liked our ride better as it was just us and not so squished.

Now sit right back and you will hear (no see) a tale of a trip. Lots of buildings. LOL.

I can't believe someone told you there is nothing to see in Venice. Very very wrong!!!

Your boat ride looks nice. We usually use the Vaporetto - the "water bus" and usually score a seat in the front of it. Cheapest sightseeing tour there is. I hope you get to see a lot more of Venice and venture off on foot again - as it is a beautiful city with lots of history!

Okay, and I won't mention that Venice belonged to Austria for some time.
