Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Stuff Themselves Silly! THE END..on to the next TR!

Awesome trip report so far! So sorry about all the stress you went through on the days leading up to the trip! Getting there a whole day early... that's a good way to make up for the stress though! :woohoo:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Minnie-inspired tank top, it's super cute!!! And you have absolutely nothing to be self-conscious about, you look great!

Can't wait to read more!!! :surfweb:

Day 2 Part 1 - EMH at DHS, OMG FP for TSM, ADR at SciFi (just wanted to write in acronyms, LOL)

Stay tuned for some pics of lunch…

"I'm ready for my close-up!"

Great morning so far at DHS. Sorry you did not make it for the 8 AM dash!!! Did you get there right at 9 or a little before or after?

MMMMM- ice coffee! How was it? I hear the coffee at Starring Rolls is one of the better cups you can get at the world. Are you a Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts (or other) gal? I'm DD all the way!

Great shots at Little Mermaid. I saw the show for the first time in July. Solo. Not enough testosterone for my guys. They went to Indy.

I'm also really taken by your photo at the entrance. I love that the tall palm trees are framed instead of the hat.

Look forward to your Sci-Fi update!

Day 2 Part 1 - EMH at DHS, OMG FP for TSM, ADR at SciFi (just wanted to write in acronyms, LOL)

So the next day, Saturday, was EMH at DHS. So we set the alarm for 7am to get up and get there by 8am. The buzzer goes off, and I am happily rolling around in bed. I could have sworn that alarm was part of my dream. And I also dreamed I hit the snooze button a lot. So much so that I DIDN’T GET UP. Worse yet, DH was already up, but he was playing computer games with earplugs on that he forgot all about the time. ARGH. So when I finally awake, it is 7:40am. AACK. I had told DH to wake me up!! Hmph. He still says that I was the one that made us late. Yeah, but that's after he failed to wake me up! Sigh, men.
Always blame it to the men. Been there. **Sighhh** :rotfl2:

After we got FP for TSM, which was for 3pm (yikes), we went to the Studio Backlot tour but we were reminded that it was about a 40 minute ride.
Wow!!! I think I plan to use our GAD vouchers for FP instead of free park ticket wo we don't have to deal with this chaos.

What?? 40 minutes before any coffee?! Sigh. I needed some breakfast first, so we went to Starring Rolls for a quick bite. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I got a plain croissant and a cinnamon roll for me and DH to split. I also got us iced coffee which is probably my favorite beverage ever. I look forward to my daily iced cup of joe every morning, even when it’s cold outside. We didn't use snack credits for this as I was reserving mine for more special things.
I am the opposite. I like hot coffee. I can drink hot coffee outside when it's 90 degrees. Call me crazy! :rotfl:
I don’t remember seeing this stop in NYC! I think they got this wrong.

4983239145_fd3cc98700_o.jpg
LOL...I have never heard of MTA has "W" train. It must be a new line. :lmao: There is no 18th st station either. You think Disney would do a better research on that.

We headed over to RnRC, one of our favorite rides. Even though I’ve been on this ride countless times, the beginning, where they do the countdown before you are flying into the darkness, always kind of freaks me out a bit even though I know what’s going to happen. I think it’s the anticipation. That scares me the most out of any roller coaster. Even though I love thrill rides, I am occasionally kind of chicken. It took DH an entire day to persuade me to ride the Hulk over at Universal IoA, and then after that I wanted to ride it over and over again!
The incredible Hulk ride doesn't quite has the acceleration like the RnRC but it's close second. That's another favorite ride of mine. When you get "shot" out of the tunnel and then go thru all the twists immediately, it was breath taking. Because the Hulk ride is outdoor, it's a totally different experience. That's a "must" ride. You won't be disappoint.

At this point we either passed eachother fifteen times or were on completely opposite sides of the park. I know we saw the 1st showing of the little mermaid which was at 9:45, right? Then we headed to use our fastpasses for TSM, ended up visiting with Woody & Buzz, then Star Tours because I had to ride it before it closed. We avoided the TOT and RNRRC because BF wouldn't do them (being a cranky pants) and I'm too scared of them.

Wow!!! I think I plan to use our GAD vouchers for FP instead of free park ticket wo we don't have to deal with this chaos.

Totally a smart plan! We did the FP exchange at HS on an early EMH. My son and I rode 4 times: once standby, once with regular FP and twice with the GAD.

All by noon!

PLUS we could have done it two more times, but we gave my DH and other son an extra ride on RNR and we had an opportunity to pull another regular FP, but we chose not to.

you have some of the best Disney World pictures I have EVER seen?! What camara do you have and are you a photographer?!? lol

We got there a bit after 9 - like 9:10 or so. We were a bit bummed that we didnt' get to partake of EMH that morning. But I've learned not to get too stressed out about such things, I mean, Disney is not going anywhere, plus we still had a few more days at WDW to make up for it.

I am neither! I prefer the coffee at my local non descript deli the best. I'm a simple gal. I don't need fancy coffee. I can't stand SB and would take DD over SB coffee any day. Although I do like the SB Pumpkin Spice Latte. And I also Love blue mountain and kona coffees.

Thanks! I had my wide angle lens on at the time, and I didn't want to switch out so I didn't get a nice close up of the hat as I wanted to. But I guess the shot ended up looking ok.

Sci-Fi pics coming up!

Aww thanks. I am always self conscious about my legs. Just don't like them. But I have definitely been more ok with them now that I am older. I used to work out all the time at one point to get them to look shapely. Now I just accept that they are not going to look like how I want them. Oh well. Genes.

Thank you! It's actually a Juicy Couture top which I found at like Century 21 or TJ Maxx, one of those discount stores, for like 20 bucks. It was the last one left and I snactched it up. Woohoo, love getting a good deal on a great item!

Hmm, I can't remeber which showing of Little Mermaid we saw. It was definitely not the first one though. Your BF keeps bringing you down! I suggest you go to WDW next time without him, LOL. I don't do ToT either, I don't like just the free-fall sensation. But I love RnRC.

Always blame it to the men. Been there. **Sighhh** :rotfl2:

That's a great idea to use the GAD voucher for the FP instead. I should have done the GAD thing...hopefully it will come out again.

I actually can drink hot or iced coffee all the time. I don't mind either in any sort of weather.

There is a W train, but the D is on the orange line. And I don't think any one of them stops at 18th street. Only the red line does that.

Are you visiting Universal on this upcoming trip? I plan to go next year and to go the WWOHP

I hope they do GAD again soon. I could use a nice FP like that.

you have some of the best Disney World pictures I have EVER seen?! What camara do you have and are you a photographer?!? lol

Aww thanks! Yes I am a freelance photog. Mostly portrait-type stuff, occassionally weddings but that is rare. For this trip I used a Canon Rebel xSi and a bunch of different lenses (10-22mm, 35mm, and 28-105mm). You can check out my PTR as I have a little photography tutorial there if you are interested.

I love the photos!!!!I am so inspired to take black and whites while I am there. We leave in less than three weeks! Your TR is making me soooo excited!!!

Great updates! Having "resort time" will be new for us this year, too! We usually stay in the parks all day and I specifically schedule our days for the PM EMHs so we are usually out for 13 hours or so. I scheduled a day off for this trip just because we're paying extra to stay at a moderate so I want to actually enjoy it! I can't wait to be lounging in the pool at CSR! The pool at FQ was closed when we were there so I enjoyed seeing all your pics! We're probably gonna stay at FQ again on our next WDW trip so hopefully I'll be able to see it firsthand!

I don’t remember seeing this stop in NYC! I think they got this wrong.

4983239145_fd3cc98700_o.jpg

For the longest time I thought the same thing! But only recently I found out that "WD" stands for Walt Disney. Funny right?

Haha, it took me the longest time to finally go on RnR. Now I love it! That's the first upside down coaster I've ever been on. I really want to go on the Hulk, but I am petrified.

This is us on standby at RnRC. Like my tank top? It’s my Minnie-inspired look! Too bad I didn’t see Minnie all day as I wanted a picture with her so we could match. Darn.

Love your top! It's so pretty! Gotta love Century 21!

your pic with Lotso bear is cute! He looks so sweet and cuddly in it haha.

Looking forward to your Sci-Fi update!

Day 2 Part 2: It’s Lunch Time!!

So we were really looking forward to our ADRs today. First was lunch at Sci Fi, and then for dinner, we were going to ‘Ohana! Two places which I really really wanted to try for the first time. I was so exited for our meals today!

We were doing OOP for SciFi as I had made more ADRs than we needed on the DDP, and hey, we like to eat!. Luckily, I had a GC from my points gathered from the Disney Visa card, and I was able to use that to pay for our meal, with a little bit left over. It’s a good thing that Sci Fi turned out to be one of the cheapest TS meals on our trip.

Arriving at Sci Fi

The check in area.

4983251137_553cd8a102_o.jpg

Now the next few minutes were annoying because they seemed to have lost our ADR even though I had the number available for them. They said, oh it wasn’t in the system, but it was on their print out. I don’t know how there could be a discrepancy, since I am sure it was from the same source, but all that mattered was they were able to seat us. Secondly, they mistook our last name for something like Crenshaw. It’s Chen. So they were calling out: Crenshaw, party of 2! And of course we ignore it as it’s not our name!! So then we waited for about 20 minutes to see everyone that checked in AFTER us for later ADRs get seated. So for the 2nd time we went to ask them what was up. And she looks at us and says, aren’t you Elizabeth Crenshaw? And I’m like, um, no it’s Su-Lynn Chen. I have no idea how they can mix it up when I clearly told them what my name was, and it doesn’t’ nothing like Elizabeth Crenshaw. Ugh. Anyways, they said they were sorry, and were able to seat us right away. OK, at least everything is good now. Hee hee.

Here are some shots right as we were walking to our seats. The pictures in here came out a lot better than I expected. I thought it was going to be insanely dark, and I didn’t bring an external flash for my dslr, so I just used a very steady hand to get these shots and hoped for the best.

The waiter was super friendly. He brought over menus and we decided what to drink. DH was definitely getting a chocolate milkshake, and I wanted a flavored soda. I didn’t see the syrup which I wanted to try which was the sour green apple. I was going to get that with sprite. Unfortunately it’s not on the menu anymore at least not when we were there. So I settled for vanilla syrup and diet coke…which tasted just like…diet vanilla coke. LOL.

DH was definitely hungry after our miniscule breakfast so he wanted to get appetizers. I didn’t want to go overboard because I knew ‘Ohana was a lot of food and I warned him about it. However our lunch was at 1:10pm and our dinner wasn’t until 8pm, which plenty of time to recover (and snack). So we decided on the double dip as an app (both the chili and spinach dip), a beef n blue salad for me (thanks for the rec Joni!), and DH got the burger.

Here’s pictures of our food

Our drinks. DH’s milkshake was soooo good.

Sorry, the lighting in the cars casts some weird effects on the picture

Our double dip app. It was yummy. Spinach dip was probably not the best I have had but it was still nice and savory and the cheese was sufficiently gooey. I thought the portion was a “tad” small though, I guess I was expecting something huge, especially for more than 12 bucks. But the dishes in which the dips were served were very shallow, it was fine for 2 people, but for a family of 4? Hmm maybe some onion rings on the side would have cut it? :thumbsup2

4983255521_e5a50a117b_o.jpg

My Beef n Blue salad – it was good! I am a bit picky with my cuts of beef but I ate most of it. It was a fairly large portion, even for a wedge salad.

4983853844_72536674a8_o.jpg

DH’s burger. It was good too. He enjoyed it.

4983256709_0ce44714a0_o.jpg

I can’t really remember what they were showing on the screen. Think it was just clips of various things, I wasn’t really paying attention too much, I was just looking around, taking pictures and soaking up the atmosphere.

Here’s more pics from Sci Fi:

And here’s us!

4983251733_8829c2eb54_o.jpg

Since we didn't use the dining plan for this, we didn't get dessert as we were so stuffed already. Also considering I drank half of DH's milkshake, I kinda already had dessert. What a yummy and fun lunch, too bad about the hiccup during check-in but I am not one to hold grudges. As long as I’m fed. :cloud9: DH really liked the set-up and the ambiance. We had a lot of fun, definitely will make a return visit here!

So nice and full, we rolled out of Sci Fi and saw the Muppets 3D movie before it was finally time for…Toy Story Mania!!! Woohoo!! Our favorite ride!!

Stay tuned for more pics…

That sucks about check-in at Sci-Fi! The whole thing is just weird to me!

Your pics from inside are FANTASTIC! I swear, they look like they could be right from the Disney website! Beautiful! :thumbsup2

So glad that you enjoyed Sci-Fi! It's one of my favorites because it's such a fun, neat atmosphere. We went there on our last trip too and I definitely got a milkshake - it was heavenly!!! :cloud9: Can't wait to hear about 'Ohana, I have never been there but it is definitely No. 1 on my "must do next trip" list!!! :rotfl:

I am really enjoying your trip report. Your photos are great and so is your commentary. Your TR is making me even more excited about my 1st trip (which I did not believe was possible).

We had trouble with checkin here last year too. They couldn't find our names and this was one of the times I didn't have my list of ADR numbers with me. They did give us benefit of the doubt, but said they would have to seat us at a table rather than a car, but we preferred this anyway.

This year they had our names, it just took a little while, maybe 10 minutes, to be seated.

Great pics again! I'm just gonna copy and paste this on all my posts. Absolutely beautiful!

The turtle was on Sept 3rd, which was Friday. I didn't expect to see turtles anywhere except for The Living Seas. Haha. That's so funny you keep sitting with people that don't speak english. I have a few years of French under my belt but I don't think I could transalate anything!

We were there on the 3rd...course, now I can't remember if we saw the turtle on the 3rd or the 7th.

I keep reading and keep feeling like we were following you. Maybe on different days though. We were at rope drop for DHS and we went to Starring Rolls.

I know what you mean about wearing shorts cause it was hot. I didn't bring a lot..but I did wear some and that is rare for me.(I am ghostly pale) I just not entirely sure why you don't want to...you are so photogenic! Every picture of you looks awesome!

Ok, got more to catch up on....

Ok, now I am caught up. :goodvibes

As always, your photos are fantastic! I love the atmosphere of Sci Fi. I just wish I liked the food a bit more. We didn't go here on this last trip, but we did on two others. The food is good, but much like I could get anywhere here at home.

I can't wait to hear about your Ohana visit!

What a great TR! I especially love all these photos. I'm scared to use my dslr while on a ride. :scared1:

Your pictures of DHS just really make me want to be there. LOVE your pictures of Sci-Fi. My husband and I had such a good time there and we're going back in February. Its great for lunch. And I think I might have to try that salad!

Also, your pictures with Lotso are super cute, as is that top. Very Minnie!
