Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Stuff Themselves Silly! THE END..on to the next TR!

I'm usually a trip report lurker, but I had to chime in to say that I really like your photos. I enjoy photography also, and as I was reading through your trip report your photos inspired me to simultaneously purchase a new lens for my Nikon D40x on Amazon for my upcoming trip in December! :)

I am also seriously considering copy-catting you on the fabric camera strap. Too cute!

I'm a TR lurker too, enjoying your report and photos, thinking I want the new hobby of photography now that I'm retired and have some spare time. Will be at WDW in 33 days Woo hoo.

Day 1 Part 2

Then it was time for our first snack at the parks, a smoothie from Auntie Gravity’s. We got the strawberry banana. Mmmm it really hit the spot!

4977957135_f33c1eb87a_o.jpg

Question- looks yummy... but was the smoothie mass produced (meaning just poured from a premixed machine) or do they blend it with fresh fruit when you order? I'm trying to figure out if there are any fresh smoothie places anywhere that they would be able to add my protein powder to before they blended???

That tombstone freaked me out at first. I swore I saw her eyes open and by the time BF turned to look where I was talking they were closed. So he thought I was crazy, when we went back on it later her eyes opened and looked around and I made him see it and probably stuck my tongue out at him and went "see I'm not crazy!"

OMG really? I had no idea it opened and closed it's eyes. I would have been freaked out. I have to pay attention next time! LOL

Hi Carey! Thank you and welcome!! Oooh what lens did you get? I love the fabric camera strap. It's so much more comfortable than the one that came with the camera. Plus it's stylish too. :cutie: Etsy has some great ones in soooo many patterns, it was hard to choose!

Thank you for de-lurking! You are so lucky you are going to WDW!! I wish I were back there...but maybe this time when it's a bit cooler.

I think the mix was pre-made but they do put it in a blender and then put it into one of those machines that shave the ice in it and blends it all up. I think you should be able to ask if you are able to throw in your own protein powder. Maybe you can call guest relations and ask? It's definitely not "fresh" fruit type of smoothie.

Day 1 Part 6: Ahhh can we relax now?

So after the 2nd time on BTRR, we decided to head back to the resort for a rest and swim. Now this is actually something new for us, we are more park people when we are in WDW and we spend every waking hour at the parks, and barely any time at the resorts. So this was a nice treat. I figure since we had the “extra” day it would be nice not to try and cram everything into this trip and have some “downtime”. It was also really really hot at that point, and I honestly wanted it to rain just so it wouldn’t be so hot!! However, today was not the day for rain, just blazing heat. So we walked back out to Main Street. We would walk through the stores down Main St just to take advantage of the air conditioning. DH managed to find this shirt that he liked.

4983226235_fa64cc9b00_z.jpg

So long for now MK!

4983825272_cdcaaace44_o.jpg

This is us waiting for the bus. This was probably one of the longest times we waited for a bus. There was no one at the bus stop too. I think we waited 25 minutes. We are trying not to look so hot and sweaty. I’m not sure we did such a good job though.

4983825986_e3494465ea_o.jpg

Back at the resort, I definitely wanted to go swim, so we put on our swim gear and head out to Doubloun Lagoon. I mostly swam while DH played with his ipod and stayed in the shade. I definitely wanted something frosty to drink, so I stopped by the Mardi Grogs pool bar and got myself a Lava Smoothie - Raspberry puree blended with pina colada mix. They don’t take snack credits so I just charged it to the room. It was really yummy. A tad sweet because of the raspberry puree, but yummy nonetheless.

Here’s the Lava Smoothie:

4983228125_069edffa6e_z.jpg

And here’s some pics of the pool and me in it. LOL. All pics are taken by my point and shoot (Panasonic dmc-ts1) which is waterproof.

4983827894_a45fd4d87e_z.jpg

The pool was really fun, it was really large, so lots of space to swim around and the little kids running around and splashing didn’t bother me at all.

After the pool, we chilled and hung out around the room a bit. I finally got around to unpacking. I forgot to mention that we did check in again with the desk that morning and we were allowed to stay in the room for the entire stay so we were pretty happy with that. I really liked the hooks on the wall. It was so convenient! I would just hang outfits on the hook by day, and it was nice to be able to see what I was wearing instead of trying to mix and match with clothes all over the place.

DH took a little nap while I unpacked. I tend not to nap during the day as it leaves me groggy so I read a little bit (Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest). I really like those books!

We then got ready to go to Epcot for our dinner at Teppan Edo and then EMH. I didn't take the DSLR this time. I didn’t want to deal with anything heavy and I don’t like using on-camera flash so I don’t take many pics at night. A point and shoot will have to do.

Here’s some pics of Epcot:

4983231077_a46af5f8ac_o.jpg

We saw a turtle in the pond! I didn’t believe it was a turtle at first, but DH kept insisting it was, it was only when it was right below me did I actually believed DH. He thinks I don’t listen to him at all. Whatever, it was dark! :cool2:

4983231335_cb0dc78839_o.jpg

We went to The Land to get Soarin’ FPs and surprisingly, there were some left! Amazing! We then headed to Japan as it was almost time for our ADR!

4983829804_7f6abdc1c7_o.jpg

When we got to Teppan Edo, the line at the check-in was really long! We waited about 10 minutes before getting to the front. They gave us a pager and told us we can go to the stores while we wait.

I love Mitsukoshi. I used to live in Japan as a child and I absolutely love Japan and Japanese culture (and food). So being in Mitsukoshi I felt like a kid again.

My favorite, Hello Kitty!

4983830094_e73596e019_o.jpg

Lots of cute stuff but I didn’t get anything. It was about 15 minutes before the buzzer rang! Good because we were starving! During dinner, we sat on a communal table with a family from Michigan, who I swear is one of the best looking families I have ever seen. The mom looked like she could be on Real Housewives (basically she was hot), the dad looked like he played golf and swam all the time, and they had two kids, a daughter who looked just like Jamie Lynn Spears, and a son who channeled Zac Efron. I’d like to be able to look that good when I have 2 teenage kids! Anyways, they were all really really nice too. They told us about how they were doing their dream trip at the Poly, and had eaten at ‘Ohana the night before and loved it. They also told us that they honeymooned in POFQ about 17 years ago and brought back a souvenir (aka Zac Efron-lookalike). Hahaha! I almost died laughing. Although their son looked like he wanted to sink into the floor right about that time.

DH and I both ordered the steak and shrimp combo. Steak medium rare. Here’s the chef preparing our meals, as well as the results. Sorry, I ate a bit before I remembered to take a picture.

It must be football season!

4983232821_fd56b013e4_z.jpg

4983233139_a8aa1cfca0_o.jpg

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and had a great time. Although the steak was not super tender, I didn’t really come here for the steak. It was more for the experience. I love it when everyone at the table loves Disney and shares it with everyone else.

Dessert was green tea pudding which was more of a flan. We both got it. Sooo good! I love green tea flavored desserts. Yum yum.

4983233391_1f6e4390b8_z.jpg

Unfortunately we were still having dinner while they were doing Illuminations, and yes, Teppan Edo is the restaurant in the back of the pavillian (Tokyo Dining is in front) so we didn’t get to see much, just a bit of the fireworks through a crack of window. That’s ok, we’d definitely be back to Epcot, our favorite park, numerous times during our trip.

After our delightful meal, we headed back to The Land to get on Soarin. We still had a bit of time before we could use our FP, but the Standby line wasn’t that long so we decided to wait. I have barely ever ridden Soarin’ without an FP so the whole thing with the interactive screens on the walls were new to me! People were jumping up and down and hitting the air with their hands and I’m like, what are they doing??? DH finally told me that they were playing one of those games on the wall which uses motion detection. Ooooh I see. LOL

We rode Soarin after about 30 minute wait. We were able to get on the top row near the middle so we were pretty happy. We decided to go on Living with The Land since there was no wait at all before riding Soarin’ again. Here’s a pic from the ride:

4983832544_259cf98ec5_o.jpg

And here’s me and DH in b &w:

4983233671_c10ecb2abb_o.jpg

The next time we rode Soarin’ we were in the middle on the top! And we didn’t even have to ask! LOL. Score!! It’s so much fun from the top, but I really think the going up and coming down parts are my fave, LOL.

After Soarin’ for the 2nd time we made our way to TT. We decided to do standby and waited for 30 minutes. We were really beginning to get tired at this point and didn’t think we could make the entire EMH, which was until midnight. After TT, which we both love, we decided to head back and get some rest in order to make it to DHS tomorrow morning. We left Epcot and took the bus back to POFQ. The bus was pretty crowded but it wasn’t anything I didn’t expect.

Here’s a somewhat blurry pic of Epcot:

4983234727_b003ef0dfd_z.jpg

Back at POFQ, we just crashed. Hoping to wake up for EMH at DHS.

Did we make it? *yawn* you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

END OF DAY 1!!!

OOOO..you got a picture of the monorail line I want to live under! Seriously...I have fantasies about building a little house under there. I don't think anyone would mind! :lmao: We also LOVE EPCOT. Its definitely our favorite park, by far, which will make going back with our three year-old interesting, as I know he'll be more into MK than anything else. But who knows? So jealous you got to ride Soarin' twice in such a short time span. That's excellent. I'm am really enjoying your trip report so far.

first we're both in MK and now we're both in HS? Can't wait to see more of your photos!

Hi, I'm joining, I just started reading the first page of your TR and am really enjoying it! :cool1: I will have to get caught up later, since I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, but I just wanted to say hi! :)

Amazing pictures!!! Okay, going back to the beginning to get caught up... :rotfl:

I LOVE your pictures. It makes me feel like I'm there. It makes me wish I was there. Can't wait to see more!

Hi there! I followed you over here from another TR I was reading so I didnt read your PTR but I am enjoying this! popcorn::

SO cool you got an extra day out of Earl and yay that you didnt have to move from the original room!

Loving the pics!!

What day was this? I have a pic of that same turtle! (or at least the same kind)

I missed Teppan Edo this trip. I kinda wish we would have gone there over some of our other choices....but there is always next time. Sounds like you had nice company too. Some how, I always get seated with a group that does not speak English. I don't really mind..but last trip it made me so nervous. They only spoke french. I took french all the way through high school and some in college. I can understand more than I can speak... Anyway...the couple from the last trip needed help translating the menu. I did ok...but I was so worried I would completely mess up. I gave up when it came to dessert though. I felt so bad for the couple when the dumb manager attempted to translate. Vanilla... became a loud VAN ILL A. Chocolate..well you get the picture. I still am not sure why they didn't get someone from the French stores to help out.

What an amazing first day! :lovestruc

I LOVE your Alice in Wonderland necklace! It's gorgeous! I would love to get something from Disney Couture sometime.

Yummy....that dole whip float looks delicious! I am planning to try my first ever dole whip in December!

Those B&W photos of HM are so cool!!

Day 2 Part 1 - EMH at DHS, OMG FP for TSM, ADR at SciFi (just wanted to write in acronyms, LOL)

So the next day, Saturday, was EMH at DHS. So we set the alarm for 7am to get up and get there by 8am. The buzzer goes off, and I am happily rolling around in bed. I could have sworn that alarm was part of my dream. And I also dreamed I hit the snooze button a lot. So much so that I DIDN’T GET UP. Worse yet, DH was already up, but he was playing computer games with earplugs on that he forgot all about the time. ARGH. So when I finally awake, it is 7:40am. AACK. I had told DH to wake me up!! Hmph. He still says that I was the one that made us late. Yeah, but that's after he failed to wake me up! Sigh, men.

So I scramble to get ready and we skip breakfast at POFQ and make it to the bus stop by 8:15.
So here was us waiting for the bus at POFQ

4983235465_b85c425a98_o.jpg

It was really empty when we got there but then it got crowded

4983235829_6033a6e616_o.jpg

By the time we get to DHS it is already almost 9am. Yikes. So upon entering DHS the first thing we do is, yes, you guessed it, RUN towards TSM. Since DH can run faster than me (but I am a really slow runner!), I gave him my park ticket so he could get FPs. Surprisingly, we got there and there were FP still available. Whew.

During my run (stroll) I couldn’t resist taking some pictures of course.

4983834692_c61305c654_o.jpg

4983237065_578bc8b78f_z.jpg

Yay, we made it to Pixar!

4983237641_dce44a4a08_o.jpg

After we got FP for TSM, which was for 3pm (yikes), we went to the Studio Backlot tour but we were reminded that it was about a 40 minute ride. What?? 40 minutes before any coffee?! Sigh. I needed some breakfast first, so we went to Starring Rolls for a quick bite. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I got a plain croissant and a cinnamon roll for me and DH to split. I also got us iced coffee which is probably my favorite beverage ever. I look forward to my daily iced cup of joe every morning, even when it’s cold outside. We didn't use snack credits for this as I was reserving mine for more special things.

4983240271_f337608bba_o.jpg

4983240697_9c5863b865_z.jpg

After breakfast we decided to just walk down the streets of NY and SF, and do Star Tours.

4983239519_821ed7b25b_o.jpg

I don’t remember seeing this stop in NYC! I think they got this wrong.

4983239145_fd3cc98700_o.jpg

You can see my reflection here:

4983238691_acdb39cd1e_o.jpg

Star tours had barely any wait and we zipped through it really quickly. I remember when I was younger and this was the most popular ride at DHS, although it was probably still called MGM at that time, LOL.

We headed over to RnRC, one of our favorite rides. Even though I’ve been on this ride countless times, the beginning, where they do the countdown before you are flying into the darkness, always kind of freaks me out a bit even though I know what’s going to happen. I think it’s the anticipation. That scares me the most out of any roller coaster. Even though I love thrill rides, I am occasionally kind of chicken. It took DH an entire day to persuade me to ride the Hulk over at Universal IoA, and then after that I wanted to ride it over and over again!

4983842350_d569f163b6_o.jpg

This is us on standby at RnRC. Like my tank top? It’s my Minnie-inspired look! Too bad I didn’t see Minnie all day as I wanted a picture with her so we could match. Darn.

4983245193_1dfa152151_o.jpg

We then went to catch the Indiana Jones action show. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to volunteer for the show, but I have never bothered to volunteer. I think I am just lazy, LOL, as you can see from this pic.

4983845586_295c236065_o.jpg

We also went to catch the Little Mermaid show. It’s only the 2nd time I’ve seen this show. I’m always impressed by the voice on Ariel.

4983865780_fb86bd9112_o.jpg

4983866838_8de4ce2d4e_o.jpg

We then went to the Animation studio and we got our picture with…

4983274813_7da1f6083d_z.jpg

Lotso Bear!!! He was so adorable.

Here it is!

4983274231_db696ecd85_o.jpg

This is probably one of the few times I’ll actually have a full body shot of myself. I really don’t like them. I don’t like my legs and rarely wear shorts, and I’m only doing so at WDW because it’s SO. DAMN. HOT.

Then it was time for our ADR at Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater!!

Here's some pics from our walk around the streets of DHS.

4983241341_d611c8dc74_o.jpg

4983839978_0cb01e7f2a_o.jpg

Stay tuned for some pics of lunch…

Ugh getting a 3 p.m. fastpass at 9 a.m. isn't any fun. I'm worried that might be my fate at DHS. :scared1: We arrive in Orlando at 9 a.m. and are going straight to DHS (before we even check into our hotel!) so we can get our TSM fastpasses. We'll then head to the hotel, check in and return to DHS to enjoy the rest of the day.

I love the B&W photos. They give a different flavor to the trip.

Thank you so much! Thought it was fun to do something different.

OOOO..you got a picture of the monorail line I want to live under! Seriously...I have fantasies about building a little house under there. I don't think anyone would mind! :lmao: We also LOVE EPCOT. Thanks Tina! I try to impress with my lackluster writing skills. I hope I am interesting. You may be surprised, maybe Max will like Epcot more than you think! Wouldn't that be sooo cool?

first we're both in MK and now we're both in HS? Can't wait to see more of your photos!

Haha, I think we had the same weekend schedule! Sure think we must have passed by each other by this point! :cutie:

Thank you!! Welcome!!

I LOVE your pictures. It makes me feel like I'm there. It makes me wish I was there. Can't wait to see more!

I wish I were there too! I re-live all my memories through my pics. That's why I take so many.

Hi there! I followed you over here from another TR I was reading so I didnt read your PTR but I am enjoying this! popcorn::

SO cool you got an extra day out of Earl and yay that you didnt have to move from the original room!

Loving the pics!!

Thank you and welcome to my TR! Yes it's so awesome we got to spend an extra day. It was definitely a tiring travel day though.

What day was this? I have a pic of that same turtle! (or at least the same kind)

The turtle was on Sept 3rd, which was Friday. I didn't expect to see turtles anywhere except for The Living Seas. Haha. That's so funny you keep sitting with people that don't speak english. I have a few years of French under my belt but I don't think I could transalate anything!

Thanks! Our whole trip was amazing. I love free dining! Thanks! Disney Couture can be found for cheap on ebay I think. You just have to know what you want and look for it. You will love Dole Whip!

Oooooo sounds good to me. I'm in..

Awesome, glad to have you on board!

Funny! That's totally something DH would do. I'd probably be like, chill, let's go to the resort and check-in, but he'll probably think it'll be more efficient use of our time to get an FP first, then go to the resort. Will have to tell him about that idea one day. LOL
